  1. To add even more insult to injury, the quaesītōrēs have discovered that the communications systems on almost all of the existing ships were sabotaged. The saboteur, R. T. Kermanvs, was found guilty and condemned to the gladiator arena. The situation was temporarily resolved by pushing firmware patches to all active probe cores, but the Vrania comsat network will have to be redesigned from the ground up, something the RIS cannot presently afford. 2. SOCIETAS·INTERSTELLARIS·ROMANA AD·ASTRA·PRO·ROMA (or in filthy English: Roman Interstellar Society // To the stars, for Rome) Latest post: 2020-07-26 // LOI-II arrives Mods Career Settings Miscellany And now, without further ado, I present to you the tales of the Roman Interstellar Society. Table of Contents Prologue The year is A.V.C. MMDCXCVI. With the war on the Eastern Front having come to a standstill, the Emperor decided to recall the legions and devote the Empire's resources towards spaceflight. If they could not win the war against China now, they would eventually force their capitulation with space superiority. The Imperial Court immediately recommended the rocket scientist Vardārivs Brvnvs Kermanvs, native of Magna Germania, to spearhead the effort. The Roman Interstellar Society was thus founded, equipped with an initial budget of 125,000 kilodenarii courtesy of the Emperor himself, and a rudimentary launchsite on the coast of Roman East Africa. The armistice with the East, however, would not last forever. Rumors have also begun circulating that China is also innovating its own space program, perhaps in response to the Empire calling for a ceasefire. Whatever the case, Vardārivs Brvnvs and his team have a lot riding on them. Baby Steps
  3. Thanks! The landing legs are from Bluedog Design Bureau's "Dona" lander parts. Chapter 9 will be up soon™.
  4. Last chapter of the day is a bit of a short one. Chapter 8
  5. The Kraken decided to feast upon my persist so I had to redo the Longship launch (hence the delay). Good thing I had a fairly recent quicksave on hand. Chapter 7
  6. Considering the descent stage engine had run out of burn time I think it might be closer to 3-3, but I might be a bit biased. Also sorry that this chapter took so long—the editor decided to eat half of my post. Oh well. Chapter 4 - Minmus Station
  7. Hey, thanks! I think MinMun 2 will even the score though. Chapter 3
  8. Right, let's give this a go, shall we? This mission report will chronicle the (mis)adventures of yours truly, a mediocre KSP player, and the stupid intrepid kerbs of my budding space program. I originally intended this post to be a one-shot Jool-5 with Kerbalism, but I figured I had better become semi-knowledgeable in its workings first, lest I send many kerbonauts to their inglorious deaths. Depending on how far I get I may actually attempt the Jool-5—but who knows. Modlist (1.9.1) can be found here. Self-imposed rules: Reverting and quickloading are only allowed in case of Kraken encounter. HyperEdit is also allowed in such an event, but should be used if absolutely necessary. Any kerbonaut losses due to Kerbalism malfunctions and/or operator error are final. Boo-freakin'-hoo. With all that out of the way, let's get started! Table of Contents Chapter 1 - Project MinMun
  9. I'm not a lawyer either, but I know GitHub is legally obligated to comply with any takedown requests of any repositories, provided the takedown has merit. I'm not sure if Take-Two can use the DMCA to take down mods' repos on GitHub, or even if they would; but if they are able I'd be slightly worried as I am a content creator myself.
  10. I don't want to be That Fearmonger™, but I agree. Generally, I would've expected more notice and explanation upon switching terms of service and the like, not just "here's the new ToS/''''''privacy'''''' policy, if you don't agree before this arbitrary date then too bad".
  11. In addition, please be aware that this is not a username generator, but a generator for Kerbal names, much like how the ingame Astronaut Complex would generate them. (I was going to reply to you first, but @0111narwhalz beat me to it. )
  12. Merry Christmas or whatever holiday you're celebrating! :)

So, unfortunately, I wasn't able to debut First Contact on Christmas Day. Bummer. :(

But FC is pretty close to being complete. It currently clocks in at around 37.5k words, and I'm pretty confident that it'll break the Great Forty Thousand (aka novel territory).

  13. Wow, it's been a long time since I did, well, pretty much anything on those forums. And to those of you who care: no, I'm not dead (yet).

My freshman year (so far) of high school has been pretty brutal. Turns out, if you take three honors-level classes (out of a total of six classes), two of which aren't even intended for your grade level, you're in for some pretty !!FUN!! times. icon_ghost.gif

Of course, my writing has suffered from this as well. But fear not – the sequel to First Flight, ██████, will probably be released sometime in 2018. Maybe. icon_ghost.gif

    passerby whispers into TNH's ear

What do you mean, I dropped the title already?

    Ah, whatever.

But in all seriousness, I've already 33 thousand words on First Contact, and there will be only a few more chapters. If I work my butt off I might be able to debut the first chapter in time for Christmas.
