this has nothing to do with the mars mission really. i personally believe that the first mars landing will be done by an IMRS like mission, with international colaboration, and commercial construction of parts.

im not happy about this, as it would have a nice scientific return, but it will free up more money, which is good. what i really hope they do, is build a deep space vehicle, and fly to NEOs, instead of bringing NEOs here. -

Orion used fission and fusion, and the form of fusion it used was H-bombs, which are a form of fusion, and they are perfectly feasible. -

Idea: variations on humans. Mercurians, Selenites, Ceresians, Spacefarers,Ort cloud settlers, Callsioans, Moonlings(all moons) : radiation resistance, reduced strength, and bone density. Venusians: slightly reduced strength. Martians: Radiation resistance, reduced strength, increased lung capacity. Jovians, Saturnians: Super strength, radiation resistance. Titanians: Reduced strenght and bone density, strong chest and arm muscles for flying.

i like this plan, but it makes no sense to hurry so much and go all that way just to confirm a landing site.
