  1. A bit dark. I think your schwartz might be smaller than mine. Can it make it to LKO and come back? ME
  2. Hey all. I didn't follow all the happenings. Is release 1.4 and making history two different things? ME
  3. I think I own 4 or five. Not counting the ones with balls inside and the ones attached to my 2 computers. ME
  4. Hey all. I sent Jeb to Minmus and back on a towering..well..Tower of flames. Made of twich engines. All stock+MecJeb. Album: https://imgur.com/a/oWM36 Perfect landing. ME
  5. That's amazing. I wasted a lot of time yesterday trying (Again) to do this. Thought it was impossible. I will disassemble and reverse your craft for sure. The extra command pod isn't part of the SSTO. Proof of that is that the SSTO can be loaded to the runway and a Kerbal can go to it from the launch pad in a rover. Same difference. ME
  6. What is tier 5? The first 5 columns on the left of the tech tree? ME
  7. Thanks. Proud. I thought I was playing for Apatite. What is the difference? Because I went to the Mun? ME
  8. The rods are only for show. They are indeed ordinary Strut Connectors. The fuselage and the coupler are spaced using the offset tool in the VAB. If you hold the L-Shift you can offset further than the parent part. I often use them to "Hold" parts that are otherwise floating magically. I have used that technique to make the girded space in an N1 rocket for instance. ME
  9. Hey. I went to look at the Easter eggs wiki. Hadn’t been there in a loooooooonnnnnnng while. Someone updated the info: So there you have it. It was but ain't no more. ME
  10. Why build large passenger vessels at all? Well not often but in one case I wanted to terminate a career game. I had done a few rescues and had a total of 88 Kerbal. I built big to take all to Jool and get them all upgraded. https://imgur.com/a/TueFQ That way they all retire with full pensions Another time is was just so I could have Jool Station. For fun. https://imgur.com/a/s7cQE ME
  11. I have heard (Read Read) (English is so weird sometime) that there are some older eggs that are now under ground with the newer (Mapping I guess) surfaces of planets. ME
  12. Hey there. Done, donety, Dun. I have played in normal mode. Ordinary game, lots of testing at the launch pad and splashed. Nothing much to brag about. The only real CAVEMAN things were sending Bob to do an EVA report from space while ridding up externally. The other was to send a science probe to orbit the Mun. Here is how and anybody can do it. Album: https://imgur.com/a/5qKxg And end of the challenge for me. Copies of my archives are in the album. Thanks a lot. Learned a few things. ME
  13. Hey all. I have used a service bay on a sub to make it rise and sink on command. I think the open and closed bay are different objects. Like the gears when extended or retracted. The data for physic is swapped when the object is changed and the densities were made different. Error or on purpose. Probably both. In my experimentation one bay was making the sub buoyant the other less. Hit and miss, never was on the minds of the coders. ME
  14. Hey Kerbalmaniacx. Yesterday did a few things. One of them was playing caveman style. Bob wanted to do an EVA report from space. Since we don't have the capability to go on EVA from space he got out on the launch pad....And left his fate in Jeb's hands. Bob was luckier than good. Also orbited a dummy Spacestation with 4 reverse engeneered @Brikoleur Juno Midge. As proof of concept (I have added a separatron for the re-entry). I love the little one wheeled beast. Cheap, low tech, open cockpit, flies well, good autonomy when missing the KSC, easy to takeoff and land plus it looks good. I will be making more variants. ME
  15. I thought I was being kicked out for a minute there. . . . So I am good then? . . . Right? Should finish in the next few days. ME
  16. Hey all. I am finally working at this classic challenge. Doing it Normal mode. This is the last picture I have of my "Tree": I actually purchased one more node since. So far it's run of the mill. A lot of atmospheric surveys. Testing equipment at the launch pad or splashed. Slow going. Getting there. I decided to "Do" something worthy of the Caveman Title. https://imgur.com/a/ADOBi Bob volunteered to get an EVA Report from Space. (I suspect Jeb got him drunk first) That was a lot of work for 8 science points. ME
  17. Today I plagiarized @Brikoleur https://imgur.com/a/iig4M I tried one wheel. No go. 3 worked. Kinda. They are pretty darn close together and unstable. Flew well enough but Jeb died.....It was a simulation. The Brickoleur type Spaceplane was placed in orbit using Cheat. Then deorbited. The separatron did a really bad braking job and failed to disconnect. But meh it worked. The SAS was set to Radial Out. Jeb got hot but didn't go poof. The plane dragged faster than it got hot. That's how scientist say it. Well Bob anyway. The engine caught somewhere below 20Km. Jeb flew back to shore. The approach was tricky the plane slows too fast to keep a reasonable rate of descent. Power was applied in burst. The plane flipped and lost it's engine but so far survivability is 100%. Makes me wonder about applications. Like returning crews from space stations. Light SSTO? Spaceplane anyway.... Play safe, ME
  18. That's a gorgeous little plane. I must replicate it. I am questioning how it deorbited. I am guessing a throw away separatron or something that can push in space. And since I see only one gear I am wondering if the two reaction wheels are enough to land on one wheel... To the hangar... ME
  19. Hi. There is a way. Sorta. Depends on your definition of cheating. In my book not a cheat cause that shouldn't happen. Start your game. boom. ignore. Use R-Shift-F12. Cheats. Select unbreakable joints . No Crash Damage. Load your save. Still messed? Try hacking gravity before reloading and use SAS to stay upright. Once landed reset the cheats. Good luck. Hey Kerbalikers. Today I continued working on the Caveman Challenge. Just a few more nodes to buy. Got an overdose of the ebejeebees so Bill built a sub ton jet aircraft for Jeb and I to unwind. Flies pretty good. Not ballistic over aerodynamic , reasonably fast but draggy. You have to give burst of power on final to stay on a reasonable approach profile. The landing was successful. Sorry no pic. Jeb turned it into a touch and go. Plenty of runway. ME
  20. Darn. Now we have to go back and check it out. ME
  21. Hey there Kerboldees. Today I was doing the caveman challenge. Not as hard I thought it would be. The biggest thing with going to space isn't the number of parts so much as the 18.0t weight limit. Did a lot of test this and test that. A lot of atmospheric flights for science. Right now Jeb and Bob are travelling the KSC's lawn and parking lots to get some badly needed science. Jeb noticed that the caveman version of mission control has some telescopes. He went to check it out. He came back saying they need an upgrade. Can't see a thing in there. ME
  22. Hey all Kerbophiles. Today I played with improved my Ion-Probe-Lander to Moho. From Kerbin LKO to Moho's surface and back all on Ions. I ain't afraid of long burns The current version as !Science! And a Com-Relay. The landing was successful if a bit crooked. The gears are retracted cause I tried to jerk the ship upright.....Didn't work. The tilt didn't prevent the taking of yummy science. Nor a good take-off leaving the Science Station-Relay behind. This time around I figured how to use the nodes to slow down and keep a reasonable Periapse. Slow learner. Intact Science from Moho. ME
  23. Are you trying to summon the Kraken? Cause that's how you summon the Kraken! ME
