What's Your Funniest, Wierdest, Or Stupidest Design?
qzgy replied to Chel's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Maybe the design I did for STS-4. Tiny little KMU clamped onto a tank clamped onto a claw clamped onto a dead shuttle. Rode in during reentry like this. -
Oh, for the imgur album, just copy and paste the link into the post. It should imbed automagically.

I've been also working on trying to beat that shinden. The problem seems to be that the AI doesn't want to make my planes turn, unlike yours, which turns really nicely. I have had some rounds where it beat the shinden, but only just. BTW, do you know when the tournament starts? Edit: hehe, I can't count. 14th

totm june 2018 Work-in-Progress [WIP] Design Thread

Its looking good. Have you tried gravioli's? I've had better luck with those. IMO, they give a smoother appearance because the segment sizes are smaller. You can see it on my vertijet from a little while back. I basically took a spine of octagonal struts and attached the gravioli's on that, and adjussted it. The octagonal struts make moving an entire row easier, and attaching the graviloi's also a bit easier. -
I think, at this point, it seems enough points have been raised to make a novel hybrid engine a bit of a stretch, and also not really viable.

Nothing much at all. Due to some screw-up I made with building my sister's computer, she now has to borrow my sweet, delicious, pixel producing, frame-giving graphics card. And on 2560x1440p onboard graphics kinda sucks. Luckily a new one is coming Saturday. I now remember what a toaster is like.

I don't see why this shouldnt be added. Would also be really useful for car tuning.
-
Thanks. I'll poke around a bit and see what happens.

Something like oobleck, or more like ketchup? An oobleck-esque gel would be nice, reduces the chance of the gas blowing by, but then you run into the problem of having it not spill out everywhere.

I did warn you.

Neat. I wonder if by strapping some SRBs on that suborbital rocket you can go into orbit.

Also, with tweakscale, there is nothing against making literal planets. Its then a test of how patient are you. Also, there isn't really any challenge or scoring system to this....

Hello! Nice for a lurker to not be a lurker.

7/10 cracker of crater arts. Not bad, but kinda commonplace.

1.3 spaceplanes getting them off the ground
qzgy replied to Kokanee's topic in KSP1 Gameplay Questions and Tutorials
Cause in 1.1, it was severely broken. Like, touchy, liable to exploding, and almost unusable. -
Yes, flat, and will break your fall slightly softer than earth. Hydrobraking?

I think, if the normal layman came across this video and saw it, they would go "Huh, fancy concept. Seems like it might work". The KSP community, in general, are not lay-people with this spaceflight thing. So I would guess that this is more to attract business people into funding some idea that may be inefficient and stupid, and not even get off the ground.
