I would suggest a rocket powered or rtg electrical propeller sea plane. Having a traditional suborbital hopper for Eve would be more trouble than it's really worth. The plane might allow you to go farther on less fuel and have more controllable landings.

Active steering self-propelled landing gear
qzgy replied to ARS's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Oh didn't notice. Thats weird though...... Back to the actual topic though, the only worry about adding motors to landing gear would be making something that is vastly better than the actual rover wheels. Landing gear are already so much more durable and don't break, so if you add a proportionally powerful motor, you might end up actually just using landing gear instead of rover wheels. This could probably be fixed by adding some sort of variable that only allows for relatively slow movement though. -
Revelations of the Kraken (Chapter 44: Falling Down)
qzgy replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
Nope thats actually fairly on time to your "I'm hoping for two weeks" Huge is good. I can read a bunch. then inevitably finish it all in probably not more than 15 minutes and wait till the next update In fear of spoiling your future plans? wait wut? Shadowy secret characters? Those are the best kind! -
Both work. Ok, though it still seems it might have helped with performance at least within the atmosphere. TBH IDK either, I just look at this handy dandy delta-v map. Says about 600. Make it 650 for piloting error.

Sure why not. -
RATO time? Also looks a bit like you're missing a fairing.

Why would you need the candle light? The iPad already produces light doesn't it? -
Revelations of the Kraken (Chapter 44: Falling Down)
qzgy replied to CatastrophicFailure's topic in KSP Fan Works
@CatastrophicFailure May be able to correct anything or add more but this is what I know/understand WELLLLLL depending on how you look at it, he did commit genocide (See Whispers) however, he was aware and I guess possibly attempting to help get rid of the Kraken. Nope, he always held that title. Val had the title of Shadowscourge. Or pick any of the following (Quoted from Whispers) *mouth opening and closing in mild defeat* Maybe? The way its described is that Edgas defeated the guard to something worse. I personally got that we have yet to see the full force of the kraken, and this might have just been some weaker manifestation, but I'm not the author, I just stick stuff in PDFs. NO TOTALLY NOT AT ALL. /s -

Perhaps you might want to use the rotation tools? You dont have to be limited to the angles of the standard wing parts then. Sometimes what I like to do is build 2 strips of wing connectors E or D and rotate those into the desired wing shape outline, then fill in the smaller gaps. The end has to be cleaned up afterwards, but its a start at least. -

The chemical name for titin and other real long words

Not a gene, protein. It's basically just describing all the amino acids in order. And it's a big protein. -

Yeah, since 1.0.5 I believe. -

As in you have the same version? Jet engine and cockpit are definitely different than 1.3. -

Thats true, but that's still a decently elegant one way solution. I have to ask though what version that it. Looks different. -
Wont lie, I was thinking of that bike a bit while making it
-
I tried to make a sorta nice bike thing. It kinda works? Sorta. The stability is kinda atrocious, but is helped by passive stability achieved through exploitation of the rapier engine COM offset and some stabilizer wheels which helps prevent crashing. So it doesn't tip over when turning, but rather tries to lean into a turn which is good, but that then provides the problem that it tips over too much. This isn't quite helped by funky wheel physics which both doesn't really quite allow for wheels to grip and skid AND makes all the wheel super bouncy and launch into the air if its going too sideways. Perhaps though some of it is wheel tuning. File available here for tinkering if anyone is interested.

I would not be surprised if a good deal of that slowdown in due to running so heavily modded. RAM upgrades would certainly help somewhat. Though I'm not quite sure how much it would actually help speed up the game performance and as others have said, RAM speed doesn't really help too too much (though it might a bit) Graphics card would be important mostly if you were running a bunch of visual mods. I'm not sure you are so.... IDK. Might be nice though to have a better card for other games if you do play other games.

Speaking from my limited experience, I didn't really feel like the SPH and X-Plane contracts were really worth it. I know for one I pretty much just strapped a kerbal into a cockpit with a ton of boosters underneath on the launchpad which apparently counted as a "plane" enough to complete it. But other than maybe some quick cash in the beginning of the program. I would also suggest in investing more into R&D. Its quite helpful for later game stuff when things take a good quarter of the year to research or longer. Huh that seems kinda slower compared to what @Ultimate Steve and I have been doing. In early 1955 we were both launching unmanned lunar missions. Somewhat curious why that might be. Maybe its because we are on 1.2.1 and you are on 1.3.X and something has changed in between? Could also just be play style.

This is neat. That's also a super snazzy flag at the top. Looking forward to more from Jonesy. Seems like a very sarcastic and apathetic frog.

There was support I think not from shapeways, but from a company called Eucl3d or so. Pretty sure it shut down some time ago. If you ask me this seems like a very niche feature that wouldn't be super useful......

Oh yeah I totally agree driving there using only coordinates is hard, though I really meant more the edited bit (The Dessert Airfield coordinates) Also, maybe I will.... We'll see.
-
*flashback to my previous Dakar entry* I think airfield coordinates to temple is enough, but if you really want you can include an extended challenge to get to the top of that nearby mountain from the temple. Could make for some interesting strategies

And shelter. Where I am I don't know of much food that's readily available. Maybe some berries, a squirrel if you can catch it. Really not too much off the top of my head. Hopefully there's something for him.
