TEACHERS ARE SUPPOSED TO TEACH!!!!!! NOT DIRECT YOU TO SOMETHING ELSE WHICH CAN'T REALLY TEACH YOU! Here is a normal cycle of school classes for me: Principles of Engineering - teacher directs you to online packets and is not at all helpful when anything is going wrong. Say something isn't right, and he'll shrug and say "Okay. Fix it." History. Basically every day we're reading online articles from the same site. And who cares if I know how in the 1900s there was a random squad of NY street cleaners? I'm never going to need to sue that unless I'm on Jeopardy or something. PE. Teams are always unbalanced, teacher makes no effort to fix it, we pick from the same set of games every single day. Dodgeball, kickball, floor hockey. Over and over again. Chemistry - UGH! We come to class and he gives us these stations we go to where he offers no prior explainations of what we're supposed to be doing. We've got to write an essay, watch a video and answer questions online, and read another article online today (not to mention a textbook passage) with ALMOST ZERO teacher intervention! English - Honestly this one is okay. Half the time we're reading out of books, but it's English so it's understandable. Band - exception because it's band. Spanish - we get taught, alright. However we have such a huge amount of paper work due in class that I can't help feel like information is being forcibly pumped into my ears. Precalc - when the teacher does teach, she teaches well, but she almost never teaches. Whenever more than two people are gone from class she's like "I don't want to have to reteach it, so free day." And 75% of what we "learn" in that class is stuff we've already covered in Geometry and Algebra II. I'm starting to think I'm learning more that I'll actually use at home than I am at school.

Zero optimization
Ultimate Steve replied to RealGecko's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Wait... you've got nearly 200 mods, hundreds of parts across dozens of vessels, on the Mun while still managing to have 50% time and 13fps? I will trade you. -
I've got too much on my hands. Two mission reports. (PI and Voyage) A YouTube series I thought I'd make. (Long story) YouTube in general. Songs I want to record. (So many ideas, so little time) Other stories I would like to finish. RO/RP-0. Drawing. The Solid Booster Grand tour I said I'd try a few dozen pages back. (Landers are all finished, and the interorbital transfer stages, but I need an SRB lifter that can put 1000t in orbit, that's the hard part) And I've made another addition to the list. I'm going to try and visit every single flag I've ever planted to read the plaques. Who am I kidding, I'll probably never make it 20% of the way...

A Serious of Unfortunate Events - Jeb's Munar Flight
Ultimate Steve replied to Crillion's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
"A Series of Unfortunate Events" I'm waiting for you to introduce a Klaus Kerman... -
Good question. I believe at one point they said that they wouldn't reveal the price until they were about to fly.

More or less-ish. I can almost see it being useful, and it would have been more useful if: F9 hadn't been upgraded so much. BFR wasn't supposed to fly NET 4-ish years from now. But, I guess it's one of those things... If 95% of the money has already been spent, you might as well fly it... (also the case for SLS to a certain extent). Also looking forward to the double RTLS. -

So, a while ago I started making another KSP music video/montage and I finally managed to finish it! Here it is, enjoy!

What's your favorite rocket engine?
Ultimate Steve replied to Grand Ship Builder's topic in Science & Spaceflight
I'm looking more and more at this, and an engine like that would be exceedingly useful. -

More likely a late New Year's present, but I'd *love* to be proven wrong! -
Meanwhile, in KSP, my TWR approaches 10 at the end of some stage burns... Even in RO/RP-0, I have a rocket that pulls 10g at the end of the booster burn (not the most realistic thing ever, but the next version of the rocket will fix that).

The Official Realism Overhaul Craft Repository.
Ultimate Steve replied to Matuchkin's topic in KSP1 The Spacecraft Exchange
Yes, I would like to know which mods include both of these. Also, yay! Astris! -
My time is in very short supply, but I really want to try this...

So, if it's yours, it's fine, right? Also, yes. Let's reboot the reboot (on the same thread)! I'm extremely busy this week (tech week and the performances for Guys and Dolls) but eventually I might take another turn (Turn 3 or 4 I think). I'd probably actually do something with the stuff on Laythe and add a station and SSTO (?) to Tylo.

What's your favorite rocket engine?
Ultimate Steve replied to Grand Ship Builder's topic in Science & Spaceflight
For purpose in real life: the Lunar Module Descent Engine. It was throttleable, restartable, and used storable (if toxic) propellants. Plus it was also used as an upper stage engine eventually. Close behind are the Merlin and RL-10 engines. Although the SSME's have "the look..." For usage in my RO/RP-0 campaign: The German Astris. Isp above 300s, storable propellants, infinitely restartable, and quite the gimbal range. I'd say more than half of my launches have used at least one Astris. -
Just got home! Hopefully it goes on this try, because I need to eat and leave by 20 minutes from now.

Certainly toasty... Hopefully that's just residual stuff and not a leak. -

By any chance could someone get a picture of the landing for me if one is available? -

The science room's chromebooks don't block YouTube livestreams, but the English ones do. Liftoff about now, but I won't be able to see it... -

The stream just went offline for me as well, @Racescort666. Wait, back on! Now, changing computers... -

Ultimate Steve replied to Skylon's topic in Science & Spaceflight
Oh. My. Goodness. WHAT. It's not being blocked this time... YES! Hopefully it's not just this computer. I have to leave this class 6 minutes before launch, so hopefully I'll get a new computer in time to watch it... hopefully it stays unblocked... -
I attempted to launch my water rocket in school (I'm not in physics class but I arranged to come for a day to show off my tremendously huge water rocket) and it did not work. The sad thing is, it was only half my fault, the problem was a leaky seal between the bottom bottle and the launcher (which also happened to everyone else). As a result I could only build up 10 PSI, although the rest of my rocket (with the pressurized volume of about 12L) performed fine (except for a dead battery). Final launch height was a few inches. And now I'm basically the laughing stock of the school, as everyone has "made a better rocket than the school's rocket nerd." Even though it did fail, my rocket was a few times more ambitious than the next best one in the class (mine was taller than me), so... where was I going with this? Failure for me. I'm going to try to stay invisible for the rest of the day now...

Aww, darn, I've got school. Yay, the launch is during study hall! Aww, the school blocks YouTube livestreams.
