  1. If a person had been inside because he was sent up by SpaceX, he would have adequate life support systems. If he was a stowaway, he would have to have snuck onboard the rocket and if he was an idiot and did not bring lithium hydroxide with him, he would have died. If I were to stowaway on Dragon I would bring along some Co2 scrubbers. I'm pretty sure that it would be hard to open from the inside, seeing as it was not designed that way. I'm not sure, though, with SpaceX you never know...
  2. Click the first link in the main text of a Wikipedia page. Wash, rinse, repeat. 97% of the time you will eventually end up on the "philosophy" page. EDIT Ninja! @TheSaint Here is the link to the article on the phenomenon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Getting_to_Philosophy
  3. I had to try this. I ended up with "list of highways numbered 350." There is apparently dozens of them... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highways_numbered_350
  4. I do not want microtransactions. I realise there may not be many people who agree with me, but if SQUAD/Take Two/Whatever we're calling them now really needed more money, they could honestly just reopen their donation button and be honest about it. I've gotten my $23 of enjoyment out of this game over and over and over and over again. If I knew then what I had known now, I'd have easily paid $200 for this game.
  5. I actually began the initial design today. Just a design, I'm never ever going to build it. I'm fairly confident I can get the dry mass of the entire rocket down to <2t. My current design is about 6m tall but smaller is possible (only 2m of that is the propellant tanks - 0.5m LES skirt, 1m cabin, 1m engine compartment, 0.5m RCS/guidance section, 1m nose cone with parachutes) with a 1m diameter. Honestly the hardest thing would probably be the engine. Everything else is probably manageable. Not that I'd actually be able to do it, though. If it was legal without 500k of permits, believe me, I'd try...
  6. Reminds me of my own code... I wake up and I'm like "How does this work again?" If I had half a million bucks I could probably design and build a suborbital manned rocket myself (if done efficiently). The hastle of recreating Mercury would probably cost much more.
  7. Complete success. However the views weren't great, it went into clouds about twelve seconds in.
  8. There was another rumble. Red lights outside of his cell came on. A hairline crack appeared in the wall of Kerman's cell. "Are you sure this is Saturday?" called Kerman after the guard.
  9. Stream is indeed up on the link now! I mean, I've always wanted to buy a rocket, but I've never had enough money... I'm almost there, I just need another 70 million dollars...
  10. Just so you know, it's done. Thread: Also, I'm now available to make another one, but the old poll didn't really work, so... I'm open to song suggestions. Post them here, but make sure they are either unlisted or viewable worldwide on this list.
  11. http://www.arianespace.com/mission/vega-flight-vv11/ Launch time: 0142:31 GMT on 8th (8:42:31 p.m. EST on 7th) Launch site: ZLV, Kourou, French Guiana An Arianespace Vega rocket, designated VV11, will launch with the Mohammed VI-A Earth observation satellite, also codenamed MN35-13, for the government of Morocco. [Sept. 12] -SpaceFlightNow Vega is launching today, I don't have the stream link yet, though. SFN has one but it's not live yet. Enjoy the launch!
  12. Then, all of a sudden, he heard a loud explosion and the ground beneath him shook. Alarms went off everywhere.
  13. Lucky you, my school only offers Spanish. I'd love to take something more exotic, but unfortunately I can't... I'd learn Russian if I could. It was mine too. However it's not actually as bad as I thought it would be, believe it or not (I'm still having trouble believing it myself). Luckily, it's still set up in a way that we can still be friends in my case... Just remember, you're not going crazy until the conspiracy is over 500 pages long... Advice: Chill Out. Although it might feel like talking to her will be a tightrope walk over a volcano filled with sharks, 999 times out of 1000 it won't be. Okay, I wish you luck! Even I never got that far. *Might* work but you probably don't want to come off as too weird. XD Mountains are really, really, really cool. You know, that's why I like living in the US. It might not seem like it at first glance, but we have an extremely diverse collection of terrain. Mountains, forests, weird rock things, lakes, rivers, caves, arches, you name it. Unfortunately, Iowa is pretty bland... And my part of it is pretty undeveloped... If SpaceX landed a Falcon 9 in my backyard it would be the tallest building for an hour in each direction. If you're looking for cool stuff, North and South Dakota are your friends. I've been there, it's amazing! I almost died climbing one of those, though. Also my interesting thing for today happened. Our volleyball team is going to state (first time in 2-3 decades) and a dozen or two members of the band played to send them off. I was in that group and we drove across town to the middle school. On the way back we played the school song out of the windows. I'm just glad I didn't drop my slide... Also the musical is over and it went well, for the most part.
  14. Well, I found out that my crush isn't into guys, so you're doing waaaay better than me... As far as the interesting part of today, well, I don't believe it has happened yet...
  15. Well, to be fair, this isn't the number of saves I've had in one install, this is most of them overall, excluding saves older than 0.90 and modded saves. Modded saves will come later, if ever. And I'm finding out there are a lot of them with nothing in them - I just skipped three or four which all had no significant activity.
  16. You can use eng without the eng part and without an engineer in sandbox, IIRC.
  17. As long as you don't leave any modded parts on any ship after your turn is over, you're good.
  18. Latest version, which is 1.3.1. At the time we started, LV was 1.2.x, I believe. No part mods, that messes with saves. Info mods are fine.
  19. The End. An ominous phrase if you ask most. Some, though will say different - an end is something to strive for. We always begin things with the hope to finish them someday. That song, that album, that painting, those KSP saves, those books, those classes, that homework. Yet, most of the time, we tell ourselves tomorrow. And tomorrow. And tomorrow. And tomorrow, until we forget. Unfortunately, we exist in a medium called time. And usually, it is in very short supply. This leads to abandoned projects all around - no end in sight for them. They have become forgotten dreams. So, all I ask of you is that you join me in my quest to find endings for some of mine. Ultimate Steve presents - Forgotten Dreams Chapter One (1/71) Thanks for reading, it means a lot to me. Anyways, welcome! Not all of the chapters will be as dramatically narrated as that one, unfortunately. Many will probably a list with screenshots. I don't have much of a storyline for this one, but the narration just "felt right" at this point in time. So, I may never finish this. I have seventy-one saves to get through, dating all the way back to 0.90. Unfortunately, I deleted my KSP installs before that point. 0.19, 0.20. 21, 22, 23, and 23.5's saves are lost to history. My primary target will be flags. However, if I can reach ships as well, I will, but I will not leave a save without finding all of the flags. I'm not going to visit every piece of debris. I will post a picture of each and every plaque here - just be forewarned, I might have to black out some names and stuff. It had never crossed my mind at that point that anyone besides me would see them, and I may have wrote a few of them with that in mind, but I'll try to show you as much as I can. So, if this is your thing, stay tuned. Enjoy the history. Enjoy the story. Enjoy the endings. Also, the saves total about 6.5gb. A bit of a big number if you ask me. -S
  20. RE: the "Quest Line." The Easter Eggs were originally supposed to be part of a big storyline, as developed by one of the developers who no longer works at SQUAD. Unfortunately it never was fully implemented. I'm not going to say his name or the storyline, he has stated in the past that he wanted the story to die, but just so you know there was a plan... There was a plan.
  21. Almost no chance. You can never know exactly which way the future will go. Medium term as I said in the OP was until 2100. Also this thread has turned more into a "why explore" argument than I intended for it to. Someone is welcome to make a separate thread for that debate if they would like to.
  22. TEACHERS ARE SUPPOSED TO TEACH!!!!!! NOT DIRECT YOU TO SOMETHING ELSE WHICH CAN'T REALLY TEACH YOU! Here is a normal cycle of school classes for me: Principles of Engineering - teacher directs you to online packets and is not at all helpful when anything is going wrong. Say something isn't right, and he'll shrug and say "Okay. Fix it." History. Basically every day we're reading online articles from the same site. And who cares if I know how in the 1900s there was a random squad of NY street cleaners? I'm never going to need to sue that unless I'm on Jeopardy or something. PE. Teams are always unbalanced, teacher makes no effort to fix it, we pick from the same set of games every single day. Dodgeball, kickball, floor hockey. Over and over again. Chemistry - UGH! We come to class and he gives us these stations we go to where he offers no prior explainations of what we're supposed to be doing. We've got to write an essay, watch a video and answer questions online, and read another article online today (not to mention a textbook passage) with ALMOST ZERO teacher intervention! English - Honestly this one is okay. Half the time we're reading out of books, but it's English so it's understandable. Band - exception because it's band. Spanish - we get taught, alright. However we have such a huge amount of paper work due in class that I can't help feel like information is being forcibly pumped into my ears. Precalc - when the teacher does teach, she teaches well, but she almost never teaches. Whenever more than two people are gone from class she's like "I don't want to have to reteach it, so free day." And 75% of what we "learn" in that class is stuff we've already covered in Geometry and Algebra II. I'm starting to think I'm learning more that I'll actually use at home than I am at school.
