  1. It is an asteroid. More specifically, the name of the asteroid "part" is Potatoroid. Asteroids are just parts.
  2. I can make huge things actually work (sometimes, see my mission report) and I am really good at super efficient landings. I put myself into an extremely low orbit (10m above surface) and burn at periapsis, pitching up when I need to. This leads to very exciting and efficient landings, but it does require a few quickloads sometimes to figure out where the surface is. I am also good at drawing KSP pictures (note to self: scan and upload soon).
  3. The image appears to be broken, but I remember back when I first did the Mun. It is an excellent feeling. It can also be the place for excellent screenshots. Stay away from the polar areas, though. Dark and hilly.
  4. YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES A reset button. How many times I have had to dive into the save files to fix docking ports...
  5. Let's see. Gilly diameter=26km. 26/1000=0.26 Gilly is now 260 meters in diameter. Some ships are bigger than that. Kerbin Diameter = 1200KM. New Kerbin Diameter is 12KM, or about five times the runway length. On the plus side, you don't need to worry about finding Easter eggs... Kerbin's atmosphere: 700 meters. Good luck with planes. Eve SSTO is easy now... Kerbin Diameter: 1.2 Kilometers, or about half of the runway. I don't know how that would work. Gilly Diameter: 26 meters. Smaller than an asteroid. Can I deorbit a moon, yet? Still has gravity. Kerbin's atmosphere: 70 meters. The VAB is in space, now. So is the Pyramid. Might be able to achieve orbital velocity with a cannon and a jetpack. This has been done before. Outdated, but relevant. Another guy did a 1/100 scale solar system and ended up turning every planet into sonic the hedgehog, but I can't find the album. I will certainly get this when it is finished! *initiating yoda* You will make a 1/1000 and 1/10000 scale version. *forcequitting yoda.exe* (2 meter gilly FTW!)
  6. Okay, I'm back from the campout! New parts are going to have their own post now. The original one is getting very laggy. EDIT: The pictures are taking a VERY long time to load in. Try opening the OP spoilers and scrolling for about 30 seconds. Sorry for the inconvenience. Part 7:
  7. Maybe different color asteroids would also have to be added... a bit weird seeing a grey rock on a place like Pol. That way, I could make a space station out of sixteen different colors of asteroid! Also, don't let them spawn on the ocean. Or on Jool or the Sun. If they were at Jool's surface, you could actually land on Jool!
  8. I want one of those. They're obviously weapons to defend oneself from the deep space kraken...
  9. *Downloads update 1.2* *Changelog: Landed Asteroids!* *Loads in Mun Base* *Asteroid spawns inside of it* *Base explodes* Other than that, I think it's a great idea!
  10. When I attempted an ion plane challenge, I used fuel cells.
  11. According to the Wikipedia article on getting to the philosophy page on Wikipedia (yes, there is an article about that) about 95% of pages end in Philosophy. The others are dead ends or loops.
  12. Go to the crew tab in the VAB. Click the little "X" next to the name of the Kerbal who is in the pod.
  13. Just how "massive" are we talking? Lots of tiny sats? A medium amount of medium sats? I could build a minisat for that mission...
  14. I can't say how old I am either, but I am technically still a middle schooler. EDIT: 150th post!
  15. I've got literally hundreds of pics I could dump here, but I'm just gonna leave these two shots I have uploaded (for my mission report) where I happened to capture an interesting sunset.
  16. @max_creative I do make my own model rockets, also. However, the corn just started growing... no more high altitude rockets for me, this summer.
  17. Florida... lucky. Have you ever gone down to KSC to see a launch? I get to go to Florida each Christmas, but never the right time to see a launch. I'll take rockets and storms over cornfields and tornadoes every day.
  18. I'm here a bit late, but, YAY JUNO! As for why RTG's aren't used, there are the reasons pointed out above. There is another reason, though. America now only has enough Plutonium to make 3 more of them. The reactors that make plutonium are slowly being turned back on, though.
  19. The Saturn 5 from Apollo 8 taking off. Unfortunately, it looks somewhat 8-bit shrunken down to avatar size.
  20. @max_creative Broken how? They're fine on my end. I also managed to miss the spoiler box when pasting... so it is a bit messed up, but I need to go to bed now. I'll fix it tomorrow. Also, thanks! EDIT: Ah, that's what you meant about the pictures. I'm not sure what's causing that. Give them enough time, they'll load in eventually. EDIT: Part 2 is up! EDIT: I finished uploading the screenshots, and part 3 is up! EDIT: Now part 4 is up. As you can tell, I generally try to avoid double posting.
  21. "Ever Tried. Ever Failed. No Matter. Try Again. Fail Again. Fail Better." -Samuel Beckett Hello, KSP players! My name is Ultimate Steve, and this is my sandbox mode mission report, "Project Intrepid!" At its core, Project Intrepid is the story of Kerbalkind and their quest to evacuate Kerbin, but, really, it is so much more: Project Intrepid is also the story of Jebediah Kerman and his quest to defeat the Kraken. It is also the story of Thedney/Tedfry/Tomfurt Kerman and his quest to save the Monolith. It is also the story of Hudson Kerman and his quest for power. It is the story of space pirates, strange boulders, dramatic rescues, forgotten secrets, teleporting Kerbals, and dare I say, Time Travel... But I'm getting ahead of myself here. Project Intrepid is - well, you'll just have to read it to find out! Mod list (Outdated, I went uber-visual mods around part 40): Kerbal Engineer Redux Kerbal Alarm Clock Reentry Particle Effect Time Control Hyperedit (Mostly for testing) Inspiration: @Kuzzter's wonderful series of Kerbfleet Graphic Novels (Which I couldn't resist referencing throughout this story ) Note: For anyone who thinks I copied the name "Intrepid," I promise, it is a coincidence. The idea of a fleet of giant motherships, the first of which would be called "Intrepid," was floating around my head as early as 0.23.5. I have the notebook pages to prove it! @Parkaboy's Plan Kappa (Again referenced in parts of my story). @Just Jim's "The Saga of Emiko Station" (Referenced once or twice), in particular for inspiring the line I end each part with. @max_creative for supporting me early on with the story. Thanks, dude! @Monkey Taylor's Jool-Sarnus 10 challenge, for providing the grounds for an epic backstory (See: Nightmares, a Jool-Sarnus Ten Story). And of course, @HarvesteR for his model rocketry adventures that later became the game we all know and love, Kerbal Space Program! Notes: This was my first mission report. The first few parts are, uh, not up to par, to say the least. If you can muscle through the first seven or so, my writing quality improves greatly after that point. As of June I'm trying to edit the first few so I at least get all the names correct. An important piece of canon that is only really supported for the first few chapters: If Kerbals die, they release spores and can be regrown, but this is a process that only works if the spores can be recovered and it is not always successful. Kerbals are mortal, just a bit resilient. My other story, "Nightmares: A Jool-Sarnus Ten Story," is a flashback that chronologically happens decades before this story even begins, but should be read in between parts 35 and 36 for maximum effect. When I first started this story, I did not expect it to go very far, but it did! So, some of the information in the first few parts (timeline, spelling of names, consistency in "..." styles, etc.) may not be the same as in later parts. If two parts contradict each other, feel free to ask me which one is correct. MAJOR easter egg spoilers throughout the story, be warned. Chapter list (Chapters were called parts for a while): Mega OP edit brought to you 3/12/2017. Second mega OP edit brought to you 6/18/2018. Enjoy the story! Any and all feedback is appreciated! Part 1: I guess that’s the end of Part 1, I guess. I am open to any suggestions, and I have flown the missions up to ITV-008. No spoilers, though! Part 2: It was at this point that Imgur capped my screenshot album. Will Shercott survive? Find out in part 3! Coming whenever I upload more screenshots! Part 3: End of part 3. Part 4 will be when the story starts getting interesting... Part 4: Part 5: Part 6:
