  1. Please don't use profanity guys, even though the filter caught it it's still something we can't have here.
  2. Welcome to the community 30Muns Congrats on reaching the Mun!
  3. AMD dropped support for the 4000 and older cards, the open drivers are your only option unless you use an older version of X. Didn't the mesa drivers get a big speed boost recently? May be worth looking into that and seeing if there's a newer driver than what you have on those systems.
  4. Lets not start another mining thread please guys
  5. The update isn't available yet, it's still in development, please wait for an official announcement for the release Also, welcome to the community!
  6. You are asking for technical hurdles in a technology that no one here has ever seen, probably no one ever has had the fortune to work on such a drive. I'd guess though that the obvious hurdles would be the safety of the engineers while constructing it, as there will be radioactive components, and sufficient shielding of not only the crew (if any) but the electronics too would be a challenge. The device looks very heavy if the Wikipedia images are anything to go by, so getting such a device into orbit would itself be a challenge.
  7. I forget it's not built in to Ubuntu, but you need to install nautilus-open-terminal for that lovely little feature, it's a built in feature in Xfce and Kde
  8. Ahh right, thanks I could not remember if any of the rest were part of mesa. All plugins should work in KSP as Unity just uses Mono for plugins anyway, you might want to look at that RAM fix near the top of the first post, back up your binaries first though
  9. If Apt complains that the packages are not available it's probably due to 12.04 using older versions, installing libx11-5 instead of 6 may do the trick
  10. I'll join together lots of discarded boosters and stages in orbit into a frankenship, then pretend to be a Reaver out around Eeloo
  11. Okay the instructions were not as clear as they could have been. For libGLU.so.1, you need: sudo apt-get install libglu1-mesa:i386 Basically you can find the package by using synaptic or googling, then install it with :i386 as above. sudo apt-get install libx11-6:i386 sudo apt-get install libxext6:i386 sudo apt-get install libxcursor1:i386
  12. It's the low gravity, rovers for Minmus and similar planets/moons can really benefit from having their own rocket propulsion Ninja'd!
  13. I don't know, also you'd expect the rate of evaporation to go down as the surface area is reduced, but this seems not the case, if anyone can correct me on this please do.
  14. From what I've read (Phil Plait) there's no matter in there anymore to leave a remnant, it's just a point, and once it boils off thanks to Hawking radiation there's nothing left behind :/
  15. Welcome back to the community thelegendaryblah, shame your old account was lost when the old site died, but it's good to have you back
  16. Um, right click the leg, I think you'll find what you are looking for.
  17. This kinda answers your question. Oh and this. Though I'd like to see this.
  18. It's just a chair with a few controls, you can add those other parts to any pod.
  19. Stay off the politics folks, it's bad for your mental health
  20. I think this challenge has drawn enough criticism, I better close it.
  21. The thread was moved, not even sure that the spacecraft exchange is the best place for it either, as has been said you really need to look at the challenge submission guide as it's not just there for decoration, it's there to help people make challenges that make sense. Parallax, thanks for your submission but I think I should close this, SeventhArchitect, please look at the guide and try again
  22. Clustering would be cool, also I fixed the title and added that S you forgot
  23. The launcher isn't perfect, but thankfully KSP is DRM free, even the Steam version The answers already been posted so I wont reiterate, but yeah the launcher really should check for a connection then give up and start KSP anyway, so it is a bug of sorts
  24. Wow nice Parkaboy, thanks for the link
  25. We could do with some remodelling of some of the instruments, any modders up for that? a 1.25m in line goo tank would be nice
