Earth Elcano Challenge: Which Path Should I Take?
sal_vager replied to Matuchkin's topic in The Lounge
Ahh I see, well then here's as good as anywhere really. I also vote for route two. -
This could be seen as something of a troll thread guys, and while there have been people who have asked about running KSP on Windows 2000 at least, it's not nice to make fun of people on old computers. I'm afraid I'll be closing this one.

Earth Elcano Challenge: Which Path Should I Take?
sal_vager replied to Matuchkin's topic in The Lounge
Hmmm let me think... How about mission reports, you can run this as an ongoing mission with member contributions for your course. -
How to not opt in for spying?
sal_vager replied to d4rksh4de's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Game ID, version and platform are covered under "Send anonymous game progress data, which is off in the above image. Some mods will send data and are not controlled by the settings in that dialogue. I'm not going to let this thread turn into an argument on spying, if you're that worried feel free to unplug your router/firewall KSP. Closing! -
Aliens and UFOs
sal_vager replied to Rhapo The Engineer's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Yeah, there's no plans for any aliens other than Kerbals and Krakens, but there are crashed UFOs. This topic comes up fairly frequently, so I'll make this thread the Aliens thread on the Common Suggestions list -
How to not opt in for spying?
sal_vager replied to d4rksh4de's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
It's not spying, it's voluntary, lots of games ask for feedback. Just click on "don't send my IP" to enable it, then click on continue. -
No, me! Maybe @Boris-Barboris next?

KSP Not Responding On Start...
sal_vager replied to TobyTortoise's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, unmodded installs)
Because it's unzipped and not installed there's no registry entry to tell Windows that KSP is allowed to write files, this can cause things to break. C:\Games is recommended. But also, the white screen is not normal, one guy "solved" it by reinstalling Windows, I'd suggest reinstalling only your graphics drivers and rebooting the PC. -
Not a dev, but no, PC customers will not be getting free console versions, sorry. Squad don't even give Steam keys with the Store purchases after March 2013, that should be a fairly clear indication. Well, that's the thread over I guess, there's not really any need for it. Closing!

The debug menu is not enabled in the demo, sorry.

I'd be wary, as I know KSP crashes when some other programs are running, particularly things that affect performance such as EVGA's PrecisionX 16. It's likely CPUcores will also just make KSP unstable, defeating the point of using it to begin with.

Sorry @sakamoto, but this isn't an option after March 2013.

Parts will be displayed in black
sal_vager replied to sige-don's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hello again @sige-don This is your problem. You need to install graphics card driver software for your computer. For Nvidia. For AMD. For Intel. -

sal_vager replied to sige-don's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Hi @sige-don, please take a look here, make sure your mods are up to date and correctly installed, then please upload your games logs and Windows dxdiag report. -
No, me! Now it'll be @HoloYolo

I dunno, I'm kinda busy, maybe @Frybert can help you ?

This is probably better suited to addon discussions forum rather than addon development, so I've popped it over

Nice post @Deddly, I would like to see peoples suggestions regarding this, I won't call it an issue as such and I do not believe that mis-posting is ever serious enough to warrant an infraction, a PM or a post is usually enough. You are right though that it may be a while before a post is seen, we moderators can't see everything all of the time (though we will see it) and many threads are general enough that they don't fit in a more specialized thread, though the ones that are not really about KSP are best suited to the Lounge. General Discussion forums are very common, and usually they are for everything regardless of the topic, the KSP forums are a little different in that we like our GD to be for KSP stuff. Perhaps the prominence of General doesn't help, as people will see this forum fairly early, and post there. While moving it might help a little I doubt it would be enough, and perhaps it is just poorly named, General Discussion should be KSP Discussion and the Lounge renamed to the General Lounge.

Nah it's okay, other new modders may see this and learn to add a license. I like your mod btw

[KSP 1.8.1] SCANsat [v19.1] -- Dev version [February 20, 2020]
sal_vager replied to DMagic's topic in KSP1 Mod Development
Sorry to tell you this @Fredde104 but this thread is pretty much defunct. Try asking in the SCANsat release thread here Also, make sure you're using the latest version! I'll close this, if @DMagic wants to use it again he can let the moderation team know. -
I summon @RoverDude!

Hi @saxappeal89129, I have moved your thread to the Kerbal Network as this section is better suited for this kind of discussion. It appears these threads were hidden by Valve admin, probably based on the number of reports they gathered from other users, I am not in the habit of removing anything that isn't obviously a duplicate or botspam, I find it's better to close threads that have derailed or devolved into fighting instead, though if a thread can be maintained just by posting then that's the best way to handle it. Moderation isn't unheard of on forums, you will find many forums have moderators and will have to deal with issues from time to time, this is true here, on the Steam forums, on Reddit and many many other sites, even 4chan has moderators. Unfortunately some people see any level of moderation as unacceptable and do not believe rules should apply to them, I am sorry to say but this view is unrealistic, regardless of what site you're on. If anyone does feel unfairly moderated they can contact me here and I'll look into it. Edit: I'll just add, that the Steam forum is under Steams rules as well as our own, if a Valve admin decides a post or thread breaks Valves TOS there's not much I can do.

Okay @KSP Bro AE, well for you I recommend this
