  1. Liquid Methane doesn't have the by-product clogging problem that Kerosene has, doesn't have a density so low its a pain to work with unlike Liquid Hydrogen, and isn't a devilish venom like hypergolics, and all that, while maintaining and going even higher than the Isp of the legendary almighty RD-170/180/190 yet will probably never go further than RL-10 almighty. Its good stuff you know.
  2. First of all, happy 61th Sputnik anniversary! Can't believe we have been in space for so long! Time Forward! it says. (sorry for wonky russian) Also, OC-tober day 4! Here is Nana! She is 2 years old, has PhD in Industrial Lollipop Sciences and CEO of Honeybumbum Dynamics. Also from previous days: Day 2: The nameless man and his (exhausted) comrades. Day 3: Trisha the Trash Throwing girl. because why not? Ok, i know my OC's are lazy when it comes to character description, but i think they are fun.

I think that if we lived in a simulation, it would probably be less like the sims, and more of a particle physics simulation. Like this but 2^294 times larger. All the subatomic particles seem a bit too much like lego blocks for a simulation to me. In the far future, when we have quantum computer, we can probably slap these particles in a simulation and watch the universe be born in a lab, or maybe even at home in the basement.
  4. Then it would probably be possible on an New-Glenn/Vulcan rocket doing it that way.
  5. Vulcan can throw 16t to GTO and New Glenn can send 13t to GTO. Im pretty sure the Delta-V required to reach GTO is much lower than to reach the a Trans-lunar injection, so you can expect the TLI payload te be lower than the GTO payload. Neither Vulcan nor New Glenn (2 stage) can send a 25t+ payload to the Moon. So you are right. Falcon Heavy might just be able to send the lander to a TLI, but im not sure if SpaceX is willing to expend their boosters and maybe also expand their cargo bay. Maybe the 3 stage New Glenn can send it to the Moon.

I didn't even know it was a Hitchhiker reference untill recently and i keep forgetting it
  7. Okay, so if we find planet 9, will we officially call it Nibiru? I know that name has been used in the conspiracy theory world.
  8. Never thought of that actually, sounds like a good idea! But considering most of my rockets are overpowered and i had 12 tons to waste, its not that bad. But if i had to design a real spacecraft it would probably be on the capsule or on a tower. I might change it.
  9. I can finally get back to playing me some KSP realism overhaul This MOTV3, It is a manned orbital transport vehicle that can carry 3 crew members and keep them alive for 2 weeks. In the backround is the LV100, it can carry 100t to LEO and 40t to TLI. (this was taken during an in-flight abort test, i know, its weird) It has an abort system located on the service module, wich are released upon leaving the atmosphere, the top nosecone is also released.
  10. Looks very Kerbal-ish! Im geussing those engines are RL10s but could they be replaced by a BE-3U, or would that be too overpowered?
  11. I just installed Realism Overhaul so you know how im going to celebrate .
  12. Im doing OC*-tober instead of Inktober because i have been doing alot of traditional art with my ink-tools lately and im getting kinda sick of it. (can't show it on the forum neither) So here is day 1: Adrella, an angel/inter-dimensional being that stops arguments. *Original Character
  13. I have finally considered coming back to KSP and playing Realism Overhaul after a few months (insert cheering noises)
  14. Nothing official yet, but considering most GTO payload masses are half that of LEO masses, i estimate it can send around 50 tons to GTO, without refueling. The cargo bay volume increased from 825^3 meters, to 1000^3 meters. Its definitely possible that there is maybe extra fuel in there, but i don't think thats the case. Developing a plumbing system for some mind of modular fuel tank and testing it might not be worth the risk, for a 'simple' circumlunar flight like this. Once BFR becomes more widespread and colonization begins, a modular cargo/fuel system and multiple BFR variants will definitely make alot of sense. They can also use the extra space to make the tourist feel a little bit more at home inside the spacecraft, during the trip. Extra empty space in a Zero-g environment is something ISS Astronauts and Cosmonauts are probably craving for.
  15. It would be bad, but i think the nuclear reactors would be inside some special packaging, so that if the rocket explodes the nuclear material doesn't explode with it and go everywhere. Not exactly sure how that would work, or if there is a better alternative, but hey, we have 100 tons of free space to mess with sooooo...
  16. Thats probably one of the best parts. (for a tourist at least). Im pretty sure when space hotels become a thing, most of them would have some sort of zero-gee playground. I hope BFS also has some toys to play with inside.
  17. My art block has ended and now i have a massive idea surge.
