I've had limited experience with both but have wokring versions of both on 1.7.1 at the moment, and both appear near-identical as far a sI can tell, except for a few key differences! For one, KSRSS has all the new launchpoints on the homeworld, which SSRSS seems to be lacking due to its older version. There is also a few more additions in regards to planetary type-bodies, like Haily's comet, etc. Overall I really like the KSRSS build so far.

Wow, as someone who was interested in SSRSS, I'm super into this! question though. I'm wanting to play with the history of Spaceflight contract pack, which wa smade for stock and RSS, what do you think would be need done to convert it to function with this?

Its great to see you here again! Hope things are getting better. Out of curiosity, what would it take to convert the RSS version into something thats SSRSS compatible? Would I be wrong in thinking that you'd just need to scale down the altitudes and distances to 1/10th their values?

So, I really like the premise of this mod, but i'm a tad confused here.. By taking said research contract for a body, does it simply tick away at a timer/money till said planet is researched? Or does it actually make you aim a telescope at the body? -
You can go into the files and remove all the ones you don't want. If you're unsure of the names and such, you can always inatall Janitor's closet and prune the parts out in-game

Another quick question~ the EVE/Scatteret configs you have, do they cover stock planets as well? I ask cause many packs like OPM, Extrasolar , etc seem to bork up other EVE/Scatterer configs without compatibility patches. Perhaps you've tested it against other visual mods like SVE, Astronomer's, GEA, Spectra, Sci-Fi Visual enhancements?

I've been doing some fiddling, and for some reason or another, it seems to be stemming from having Extrasolar installed. Its labelled as compatible, but once added in, OPM planets seem to all lose their inflight map/tracking station textures, but flying low over them shows a textured planet.- 471 replies

No worries, thank you for the info though! OPM just recently updated in the last few days also, so that could have done it as well for all I know really. -

So, after a bit of testing, it seems installing Extrasolar is causing all of my OPM planets to lose their textures? I haven't the slightest clue as to why this is happening really This is my test GameData folder: I've tried it with and without the PoodsOPMVO textures, and seems to make no difference. Removing Extrasolar seems to be the only way to get them back so far. EVE, Scatterer, Kopernicusetc are all fresh downloads of the latest versions, as well as Extrasolar of course. -

Having a curious problem with a fresh KSP install that i'm testing mods on. All the planets show up in the tracking station, but none of them have textures! They all appear as something akin to a black hole for some reason. Any idea what would cause this?- 471 replies

Its definitely an option I suppose, but not entirely necessary in my opinion. As stated before, I think the best overall solution is to have a remote control station in the other solar system themselves, and assume control with those. Stock can do this easily enough with the right command pod, and with remotetech, its only marginally more difficult to do so as well.

Even if you could get the signal out that far even, the signal delay alone would make it next to useless I'd think as well. (Edit: Forgot delay wasn't a stock commNet feature, too used to RT!)

Interesting! I tried doing as you said there with the folder cache, but did not see any real improvement on my load time. That said, i'm not 100% sure I did it correctly either. I installed it, right clicked and loaded the gamedata and 64_data folders into ram, then launched the game twice. The bit you mention about a batch file kinda lsot me -

Man, seeing this mod dead makes me really sad...I made a recompile for it back in 2016 for some version of ksp, but upon trying to do so for the current source, I just couldn't get it to build. I'm no coder sadly, so not much I can do Hope someone with more skills than myself can come along and breathe some life into this mod! -

Before: Loading Systems: Elapsed time is 1044.615s After: Loading Systems: Elapsed time is 1017.488s System: Windows 10 64bit, 32gb DDR3, 1TB SSD Game Version: KSP 1.4.2, 164 mods Just to make sure I did this right, the .dll file goes into the Gamedata folder, yes? -

The really old FC mod is here: As far as I'm aware, MechJeb doesn't have a commnd queue, correct? Being able to have a set of commands setup before-time really is what i'm after. -
