  1. Laythe is indeed the last moon left. I speculated that the final battle will utilize its atmosphere as a source of poetic justice a while back.
  2. I build another hill and host a block party on it. My gregarious hill.
  3. The title can be positively identified as a reference to Star Wars, where the first proton torpedo launched at the Death Star 1 misses the exhaust port and "just impacted the surface" instead of going down the hole to the handwavium reactor core and setting off a massive explosion and the denouncement of the movie. In the comic, it appears to correspond to both Nimzo and the supposedly unknown (many of us have ideas by now) object impacting the surface of Bop. The other guy in the rover (I forgot Sarge or Jeb) uses this phrasing to refer to the second event.
  4. Well, there was a bit of speculation a while ago, and over analysis is the name of the game following the Kerbulus hints as far back as Duna, Ore Bust, so I decided to just call it...
  5. You messed up! Lemme highlight the important part: @Kuzzter has confirmed it was the Kraken! I call word of god! Brilliant... repliked.
  6. What do you mean? Those planets are beautiful! Craters look like algae though...
  7. I would recommend @keptin's Basic Aircraft Design and Scott Manley's Basic Aerodynamic Video if you want to change this fact. So, I'm guessing that's not a random spawn... did you teach him the art of persistence editing, or did he find the new Kerbal Creator or what? Uniform from Texture Replacer, I guess. Well, yeah, Nimzo is safe now. Then again, he always was - the redshirt trope is so well known that @Kuzzter will near certainly subvert it.
  8. If the rover did not deorbit under it's own power, it must have been deorbited under another ship's power. Intrepid towed it down?
  9. I realize I can't do this alone, and call for reinforcements from @The Raging Sandwich. My intermission while the Reinforcements follow the Hohmann transfer orbit.
  10. In your edited opening post (both the links list and the title) you called Kerbals an interplanetary species. I assume you meant interstellar, because interplanetary can be done with a Poodle and a Pod. Anyway, congratulations on developing Kerbals into an interstellar species! You can now change your status to the one with the ears and the FTL Drive! (First Exception drive, in my headcanon on KSP FTL travel, which I will post in a bit.) Going to go install Rald now...
  11. I turn up with a Revive and revive @The Flame Cat. I then revert the assumed game universe back to KSP, and pick a hill on Dres.
  12. Now, does it have enough delta-vee to land and return? Seeing that it was designed for a one-way trip to Minmus. (afterwards) Sorry! This is a big issue! For some reason I posted only based on the first page of posts! (reads it) Hm... it's becoming a soap opera now.
  13. Ooh, another newbie who wants to mod! Seriously was starting to think I was the only one! Idea for operation: growing plants happens in two stages. Each plant is three or more resources - seeds, spurious, and final product (plus fruits or stuff) Stage one - sprouting, represents time from planting to photosynthesis begins.Takes away certain amount of seed, wait a while, then return a certain amount of sprouts for the same plant. Number of sprouts returned might depend on tech level and plant used. Also might return science on orbital farming. Stage two - growth using photosynthesis. Simple resource conversion to take sprouts and produce final products. More products than sprouts consumed, fractional sprout or product resources can represent half grown plants. Maybe integrate with community resource pack or life support mods to make it consume equal amount of carbon (take up carbon dioxide / release oxygen). The product can be used for botany science or cooked and converted into other mods food. You can add any number of plants, just configure germination difficulty, mass gain during growth, products, and nutrition value. Plants also could produce oxygen and crew morale with kerbalism.
  14. I move into @icantmakemodels mountain as well. I bring in a fusion reactor and plenty of H-Bombs.
  15. I fiddle with PQS mods. My hill. I'm willing to share with @The Raging Sandwich
  16. But... (sputters...) well, just never install Kerbalism in your save... Hey! Maybe that's why there's rescue contracts all over the place! And why the rescues are so eager to abandon their old program. Somewhat disturbing.
  17. On the flip side, this could just show total confidence on the scientist's part that bigger rockets will come eventually.
  18. Late 51 BK: NKR scientists discover Eeloo, but does not inform the AUSK scientists. Mid 51 BK: Several NKR scientists defect to AUSK, crossing the 89th and giving AUSK some nuclear and conventional weapons tech, as well as the tentative location of Eeloo. Early 51 BK: Scientists from NKR make prediction of location of Eeloo (last planet).
  19. Late 49 BK: Operation Fire from the Skies started by NKR, constructing the Rods From the Gods-1 orbital bombardment platform. Widely considered impractical and overambitious. Early 49 BK: AUSK boffins discover fission, and get to work on a fission bomb. I infer the 40 BK Defeat was the end of IKW-2.
  20. Early 45 BK: The AUSK nuclear physics research program comes to an end when their research facility blows up and leaves a sizable crater in the ice. I take Kerbin Side as canon for this thread and it's the North Pole Bio-Dome Research Center in this map.
  21. Hm... considering the space program is just boosters and parachutes at Time Zero/Zero, is this really realistic? I think we're supposed to be doing the history before space tech was developed.
  22. I order my Replicators to construct a solar sail (they're still on Phobos and have overrun the place by now) and they take over your potato moon, adding to their stockpiles of carbon and oxygen. Our (@The Raging Sandwich and I) leveled base and Asuran warship. Note that I'm just using the SG-1 enemies as an example of the kind of thing I'm doing. The solutions given in the series are... not guaranteed to work.
  23. Sadly Phobos has no Uranium, so they were just lead. But still, at orbital speeds the kinetic energy is enough to level a base. Our leveled base. (edit) Oh! And here's the control device for the nanite! (throws @The Raging Sandwich nanite controller)
