OK, I just discovered that Part recovery (at least that of landed debris) seems to be buggy http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/86638-Recovered-landed-debris-bringing-more-money-than-it-is-worth
-
At the moment it doesn´t seem to be the case ... at least the contracts doesn´t sem to specify a limited number of parts but (as posted above) I agree that they should have a limited number of parts to prevent abuse
-
I am not absolutely sure about it, could well be a feature ... just think of a limited number of parts getting produced for testing purposes befoe they start a series production. But I agree that it has great abuse potential (by players just not fulfilling the contract till they have researched the node ... and thereby being able to regularly use the part before its time) Maybe it would be a good idea if squad introduces a limited number of test parts (like, 5 for example) which are consumed upon use in a spaceship and make the contract fail, if all test parts are consumed without any of them getting activated within the conditions specified in the contract.
-
In the future? If I see this correctly the prototype test contracts already are procedurally generated ... I, for example, at the moment have the contract to test out a small gear bay (with other words, a plane gear that is destined for atmospheric use) that I should test out on a suborbital trajectory outside of Kerbins atmosphere

Seems like both is possible ... either they got it from the russians, or from the capture of an ukrainian airfield a short while ago. Officially the downing still seems to be classified as an accident, till the contrary is proven (like debris of the SAM that will be found within the debris of the airplane, or any Satellite-recordings of the incidents that show a missile nearing the plane). Also, officially it is still unclear, if it was a misile, if it was fied by separatists, ukrainian or russian forces ... although there are strong indices that point to the separatists

To boldly go where no Kerbal has gone .... before
-
LOL, that´s interesting ... it seems like your contracts enable you to get test models of parts, that you haven´t researched yet ... these are available for you to use until the contract to which they are connected is fulfilled. Afterwards they vanish (unless, of course, you have reearched the necessary node in the meantime)

Mod Testing for 64-bit KSP (UNOFFICIAL VERSION)
Godot replied to mythic_fci's topic in KSP1 Mods Discussions
Kerbal engineer Redux works only halfway ... physical values for orbital and surface tabs are displayed correctly, but everything that has to do with ships parts (i.e. Vessel display in flight or in build mode) is borked due to a missing field exception -
Not sure about the 64 Bit Version, but I can confirm for the 32 Bit Version that Kerbal Engineer Redux doesn´t work correctly when it comes to spaceship parts ... in Build Mode it gives me a System-Missing Field Exception for all stage displays ... in flight mode, the physical values of surface and orbital display are shown correctly, but the stage values (dV, TWR and the like) also don´t work here I doubt that it is differently for 64 Bit (as it seems to be caused by some internal changes that squad did to the parts)
-
At the moment I like eveything they did to the game .... there are only 3 things that I would love to see included now, that most basic things have been included: 1. Increase of the area where separated stages "stay alive" (or maybe inclusion of mechanisms to automatically check if they would have enough open chutes to land and then automatically land them) 2. More Biomes outside of the Kerbin system 3. Cities and other structurs on Kerbin (even if initially they may just projections, like the terrain scatter)
-
The Parachutes will be among the recovered parts (i.e. will also give you money) ... so, definitely yes, Not sure about a remote pod however, I guess it will cost a lot more than the boosters
-
Does this mean we might be able to use the NASA grapple hook in order to catch him and get him back down to Kerbin?
-
I can say that I got 80->90% back from spaceships that landed in the ocean a few kms away from Kerbin, when I was able to recover all of their separated stages as well (i.e. when they remained within 2.5 km during descent and therefore were classified as recoverable debris). It´s a truely big incentive to equip everything that will go down to Kerbin (but gets separated on descent) with chutes and separate it rather deep doen in the atmosphere (so it doesn´t drift too far away)
-
First one the same way as Scott Manley (i.e. Command Pod + Booster) ... whcih also allowed me to fulfill a contract regarding testing the yellow booster Second and Third ones via a rocket that had 2 Fuel Tanks + LV-T30 + 3 Chutes on a stack decoupler and 3 yellow boosters on radial decouplers, as well as 2 Mystery Goo. This way I was able to get science from Goo and also could recover the stage with the 2 fuel tanks + the LV-T30 (it is true that any separated stages that stay within 2.5 km during descent (and safely land) can be recovered and give you money). The fourth one (orbit) still is open, as I am currently busy fulfilling test contracts with small spaceships (as you can get back 80-90% of the money you spent on your spaceship if you recover all parts, the contracts pay very well)

Just as others I had problems in the first half hour with downloading from the KSP store ... but after that (maybe 45 mins after release) I was able to download ... and at a neckbreaking speed as well, just 10 mins for the 0.5 GB zip (whereas in the past downloading KSP zips short after release took much longer, due to the huge server load)

One, I think the last, game went into a similar direction like Elite or X ... Wing Commander: Privateer and Privateer 2 ... especially Privateer 2 had extentive cinematics, featuring (among others) Jürgen Prochnow and Clive Owen Here an excerpt of the intro (unfortunately just in 240p ... I can assure you that the cinematics in the game itself were of much beter quality )

If it were a german company it would be easy, as at least half of all pizzerias and other takeaways have online ordering via Pizza.de and you would just have to know the postal code in order to get a list of all pizzerias which have the postal code within their delivery area (actually my standard way of ordering pizza) If there exists an equivalent to this for Mexico, this would solve all of our problems
