  1. So this just happened: https://www.nasa.gov/feature/nasa-completes-study-of-future-ice-giant-mission-concepts I'm so excided! I'm already recreating the possible missions in KSP using Real Solar System. What do you guys think? (About the actual NASA missions)
  2. One thing we could do is monitor the position of a specific asteroid that isn't looked at and studied very much but is bright enough to be seen in most telescopes. We can observe things such as parallax at different latitudes, and based on its path we can further study and confirm its orbital properties. We can also further determine physical properties through occultations of stars.
  3. The logo has faded, I honestly don't know. It's old. I'm going to put it on my tracking mount. I was going to overexpose Triton, and make a composite with Neptune.
  4. In the next few days I'm going to try to photograph Neptune and Triton using my six inch. Wish me luck...
  5. Just thinking about it makes me want to go outside and away from closed spaces.
  6. About 17.14% (roughly 1/6th) of my dreams are lucid. I would like LOVE to raise that number.
  7. One of my BEST images of Saturn, ever. This was shot a few nights ago. You can see the Cassini Division and faint color bands! Believe it or not, I took this image with my smartphone, and stacked about 10-15ish frames together. It also looks like I'm the only person who voted saying that Mercury is my favorite Solar System object to image. I am the 1 (err... 2) %!
  8. Well I know that, I was just asking about the brown dwarf thing. Also, I think they would start out as blue rather than white and slowly fade to red.
  9. Mars has no magnetosphere, and me might be able to make a synthetic one, but it likely wouldn't cover a very large region. Unless we could melt its outer core, but that would take forever.
  10. Cassini-Huygens took so long due to all of the gravity-assists it had to take. Voyager 1 took 3 years and two months. Cassini-Huygens did so many gravity assists to save on fuel. Voyager used a ton of fuel so it can take advantage of the rare encounter.
  11. Did I say aperture length? (-‸ლ) I have a 4" and a 6". I WOULD go for a 12" IF my budget wasn't so tight. A 10" would be best. My head is just in the clouds
  12. Interesting... I am currently trying to build one with an aperture length between 8-12 inches to do some deep sky work. I am currently making the blueprints. Hopefully my building process goes as good as good as this one!
  13. Are you saying that brown dwarfs can be classified as white dwarfs? I thought that a white dwarf was the remaining core of a low mass star that has puffed out its outer layers. (Sorry if I misinterpreted that statement)
  14. Instead of coding in WordPad, I would use Notepad++. It's way better for code editing.
  15. Your abstract solar system makes me want to use them as flags for my RSS and SASS missions!
  16. I have seen the mand they look quite good... Mind if I use some as patches/flags for my future missions in game?
