  1. I don't think all these parts will accurately resemble old sovjet and US parts. It will be a similar art style but with a Kerbal twist. Russian engines usually have multiple nozzles for a single turbo pump for example but I doubt they would add parts only dedicated to build the N1 or any other rocket. It will still (hopefully) remain a LEGO type experience where you have a set of parts with which you can build anything not just that one thing. More tapered fuel tank variety would for example make sense.
  2. Great Scott! I really like this! I have two questions I'm not sure you can allready answer: Will this expansion also include more real-like planets or launch sites? (different latitudes / different difficulties and so on) and will the now stock parts also get an overhaul? If yes, will this overhaul be exclusively a part of the expansion or a free base game update? Thanks!
  3. Hi, I'm not sure what you mean by "KSP-in-action" but the first step to make a pleasing KSP video is to remove the UI by pressing F2. Then holding the middle mouse button you can shift arround your view and by holding Alt + Scrolling you can change the camera lens focal length. A wide focal length is cool fo fisheye effects (good for some action shots) and a very narrow angle is good if you want to blow the background up in size. To then actually record something you need a screen recorder. A good free one is for example "Open Broadcaster Studio" but it has a little learning curve. it's not like most other where you just press a button and go. It is once you set it up though. If you have all the footage you need comes the video editing where the true magic happens. I personally would suggest to avoid you to spin the camera view around in the video. Rotary motions can be used as a tool sometimes but get quickly too much. You can switch between different camera angles while recording and in video editing simply cut the parts out where the camera rotates. If you want to really dive into video making I can highly suggest to try the freeware Blender. It's a very powerful tool to create all sorts of animations you can use to complement your videos. However, it takes a while to get the hang of it but it does not take as long as one thinks when starting out. It's probably not the kind of video you are looking for but here is one of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc5uUfe1lds edit: I forgot, if you want to get back to your standard camera stup double press the middle mouse button. Another cool thing: Enabling the "advanced tweakables" in the settings you can actually lock your camera to a certain part. Just rightclick a part and press on "set camera" or something like that. Normally KSP focuses the center of mass of a craft which can be weird for making videos from time to time. You can also lock the camera to a part which is not on your current craft. This means you can control your craft and use a secondary one as a "camera car" lol. if you put the camera car on plane wheels it will simply roll in a direction while you perform some action with another around it.
  4. Lingo Unchained Many brave Kerbals have joined the Anomaly Task Force in recent years but none of those have ever witnessed what Billy-Bob Kerman and his squad uncovered just a few days ago. At exactly 14:47 Kerbal Standard Time, so the computer says, Billy-Bob sent out an emergency call from the Great-Great-Crater. Following a nominal procedure re-balancing the fuel inside its main propellant tanks, their plane quickly started to lose thrust on all of its 13 engines. It didn't take long until Fetha Kerman, the crews flight engineer, noticed an irregularity in the overall shape of the vehicle. Looking outside the window she saw what sealed their fate. One of the balancing tanks was missing and the fuel was pouring out a chemical trail behind the aircraft. Protocol P404 was immediately executed and the plane landed on one of the Great-Great-Craters islands. None Kerman was injured but he was later hospitalized and will recover soon. At this point however, no one was expecting what was about to unleash upon them. An ancient artifact, disc shaped and shining in colors no Kerbal has ever seen before. Billy-Bob flaunted his bravery and picked up the artifact. A sudden scream! One of Billy-Bobs fingers got stuck in an opening right at the center of the disc. Having recovered from the initial shock he quickly learned he was able to spin the artifact around his finger. Surprised but still unable to release his finger Billy-Bob commanded his communication officer Chad Kerman to use the satellite laser link to cut his finger free. To their surprise their communication device picked up a signal as the laser was pointed towards the still spinning disc. Strange sounds left the cockpit thereafter but the computer recognized a pattern. It was this very moment that changed history forever. It was this moment when Kerbalkind discovered the Ancient Lingos!

  6. To be fair, it's partly a new team and they probably don't yet know that many people care about such specifics. At least that would be my guess. I simply asked for a version number and got an immediate answer. Wasn't so hard either ;P
  7. A pre-release on March 16th is definitely earlier than I expected! What I wonder is, is the localization part of a new KSP version (like 1.3?) or will it be some kind of optional addon hence "localization pack"? Will I be able to change languages in the options menue or during installation? Will the localization pre-release include bug-fixes and other things which could potentially break mods or will it focus on the translations only? And will it be as usual be available through Steam? So many questions^^
  8. I believe Uomo mentioned in a Squadcast that Porkjets parts won't be continued by Squad since they are his. If the modded parts were never part of a contract they can't simply use them. But Uomo also said they work on an overhaul of some sort and my guess is they will come up with something entirely new. My personal hope is that at least some parts will have multiple looks. Upgrading your space programm small fuel tanks could start out as some kind of scrap and develop over time to become lighter and more mass efficient. The end state would have only high quality parts which all share a common aestetic rather than mounting scrap on your SLS booster. Besides the rocket part overhaul I also hope for a new terrain in the more distant future. It would be really cool if Kerbin would look more like earth considering the whole system looks similar to ours. It doesn't need to be 100 accurate but it would make you think are we Kerbals before of after humanity? Then you find all the anomalies to get some clues about the past in a "planet of the apes" style. To have more reason to explore the solar system I could also imagine some kind of procedural asteroid impact system. Having some satellites arround a planet they could detect impacts and you could send a mission to investigate the site to maybe find some valueable resources or science inside the craters. Each biome could have its own impact features. If you are not one of the patient types you could of course grab an asteroid and redirect it trajectory towards a planet or moon. The Joolian system would have extremely rare to no natural occuring impacts so this would be the end game content. The precious high level loot craters where you have to build an entire station arround an asteroid to boost it on a trajectroy towards Laythe. I think such kind of gameplay would fit KSP really well. It's a little but not too silly and would give you a good reason to redirect them. Should there every be a multiplayer I would personally create a separate game mode just for that. Instead of having the whole solar system you just had the Mun for example which would also be a litle closer you you would not need to time accelerate. You would start a game with 2, 3 or 4 players and the goal would be to go the the Mun, gather resources and bring them back to Kerbin. This would fill up a bar und til the win condition is reached. However, you could also sell those resources to get more funds to develop bigger rockets and so on. I think if you build a mutiplayer it had to have some kind of competitive element to it. Most successful multiplayer games are competitive i would say. It would also open up a whole new world of optimizing a strategy on how to win. On modded servers you could also use weapons to attack your opponents and disturb their progress Before that can happen they had to find a way to make multiplayer work at all. A way to maybe do that efficiently would tbe using MechJeb? Instead of syncing and reading persistent files rapidly the opponent players would feed MechJeb on your game which would copy whatever they do if it is happening in physics range. However, I have no idea if that's as easy as it sounds. Multiplayer is probably the most unlikely thing to happen and I would personally not mind if they discarded it.
