Hi everyone! Today is the day when exactly one year ago, I joined this forum! In that time, I've made lots of friends, participated in games, showed off (and loved other) creations, done a few memes, and made a video guide to the forums! I really like the place, and although I don't play KSP a lot (Halo is now my interest), I still enjoy coming on the forums and checking out stuff, mainly the memes thread. Every day I visit this site, whether it's to see my good friend @Lo Var Lachland's LEGO pictures or films, the KSP artwork/memes, or to help out people in the Gameplay and Technical Support area. My username was originally 'KerbalManiac', but I then changed it to 'The Cat In Space'. Fun fact: my profile picture was actually supposed to be a GIF of a cat flying with a jetpack, but it froze in the center of the picture when I uploaded it. Every so often I rant on the 'Place to rant about things' thread, or just let people know of random things in the 'What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today' thread. Things like 'Did you know that a Chinese space station is coming down sometime between May and October?', or 'My cat peed on my bed today' (actually happened this morning, very annoyed). I've been through good times, bad times, and hard times (such as Tara passing away), but one thing that has stayed with me is this forum and the amazing people who I've met on it. So thank you, everybody, for making this place what it is today, and for all the support and fun times that I've had on this place. Even though it is just an autofill address in Chrome's URL bar, to me, it's a whole other world of fun.

Yes, but if you are transmitting stuff over long distances you will need to have other probes with 'Commnet' antennae on them. Your transmission of science will go through one (or more, depending on range) of those antennae, and then go to the Space Center. Kinda like signal boosting. For more info, visit this thread:

Right. So as long as it's in front of the CoL it will take off, and not start flipping in the air before crashing.

Well if you've completed your mission (or just have some time), you can go to the Tracking Station (the building to the right of the VAB with the dish towers). Click on the debris, and click 'Terminate'. This will get rid of it. But be warned, as if you terminate a spacecraft with Kerbals inside it, they will be killed.

Hi all. I've built many craft over the years, but have only now actually been paying attention to the CoL, CoM, and CoT. The CoM should be in the middle, for a craft to be stable. But the problem is, I'm having trouble seeing if it is in the middle or not. So, are there any tips on how to find out? Any mods that can help?

Okay... this might be a lengthy post. I have a Wikipedia account. I revert vandalism, edit, and welcome new users. I reverted someone's edit (they blanked the page) today, and left a message on their talk page regarding the blanking. They then reverted my edit (re-blanking the page), and put in the edit summary 'stop trying to revert my edit you are obviously [snip] I reverted their edit (as they had blanked the page again), and left another message on their talk page. They then told me to [snip]. Then, they completely deleted my user page, reported me to the admins for vandalism with a level 4 warning (if you vandalize again you're banned), and faked a message of me telling them to kill themselves. Luckily I messaged the admins, and put my user contributions page in (so they could see that it was faked because there was no edit regarding me telling the person to kill themselves). They are now banned indefinitely for harassment, blanking, vandalism, and misuse of the report system. I signed up to Wikipedia for editing and helping the site. Not to be attacked.

Hello. While researching/procrastinating today I came across a battery saving area on Microsoft. It says: Use Microsoft Edge for browsing. Tests show that when browsing with Microsoft Edge, your battery lasts 36-53% longer per charge than when browsing with Chrome, Firefox, or Opera on Windows 10 I am wondering how they 'tested' this, and if it is actually true. I do have Edge on my computer, but don't use it as every couple of minutes it says 'a file was reset because it had an asset that wasn't working' or something like that. And I haven't really noticed any difference in battery usage when using Edge instead of Chrome, so is the claim of 'Using Edge saves battery' true?

Hi. Did anyone else get the site maintenance message on the forums earlier today? If so, has anything even changed on the forums?

I am not changing schools, but our parents were given a permission slip to let us do this (but at that time, they hadn't told the parents what we were doing in the program). Don't forget 'It's all peaceful', and 'a great time for self reflection' (as you stay up in the night too scared to sleep, hungry and miserable, huddled in your 'shelter' made by a sheet and piece of string).
