does this mean that we can have clouds only load around the craft, instead of around the whole sphere, in cases like surface dust? or is it a set parameter that is immutable in-game -

if its possible, i would think that anyone in the kop modding scene has neither the time nor inclination to first of all figure out how us2 saves work, much less work on porting them over to ksp...and besides, us2 texture maps are pretty low res, and would look 'meh' in ksp at best if someone wants to do it, more power to em, and its an interesting idea...but not one terribly likely to see fruition, im afraid

when you have an install with hundreds of planets (oh who would ever do that, i cant imagine someone so crazy) its kind of a necessity because lag also lazy people like me be lazy its like KER, [insert some mod that calculates maneuver nodes], and other stuff all in 1, so it doesnt have to play it for you unless you use it that way, and besides, it can take out a lot of the monotonous unenjoyable stuff like docking (unless docking is your cup of tea) and overall make your experience better

@Theglitchofthekraken IIRC, there is no "tail moon" of the nature you describe in GPO. But, I will list the closest moons of various planets that may be what you are talking about. Verdina, of Olu'um Nightmare, of Gol (is stretched because of the tidal forces, same things that make "tail moons" happen) Nievis, of Niebos Vulkine, of Vulkan (also worth noting is Vulkan itself - it's got an accretion disk about it for whatever reason, ask @Gameslinx for more info) Teloslate, of Telos While none of these do in fact possess a tail, they're the best guesses I have as to what you mean

A variety of new problems have been discovered with the mod, including: 1) DDS textures being very pixelised and low-resolution 2) atmospheric colouration without scatterer having a weird bar thing sometimes 3) pressure curves that are messed up for no apparent reason on some of my planets 4) disappearing oceans 5) colour maps that show an incorrect boundary between where ocean and land should be 6) textures that randomly unload for no apparent reason, leaving behind only a white ball Soooo most of these are either annoying to fix or have no reason to exist at all...which means that the next version is pretty far off. These also have decreased my motivation/morale for working on the mod, which isn't helping, along with some of my textures disappearing into nothingness somehow.

the past does not bode well for this but good luck i guess -
Hiatus over, resumed development. When I release the next version (Soon tm) it will be a lot more performance friendly and will include the initial expansions for IPP with GPO planets
