Missing Fuel Tank Adapters
Geonovast replied to Zosma Procyon's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
That's true, but it's a pretty legit suggestion for the stock game, which is what this subforum is for. It's somewhat ridiculous that that part doesn't serve some kind of other purpose, be it as a service bay or as a fuel tank. -
And that it is not the rover that flips... but only yourself.

Setting up a joystick
Geonovast replied to kspguy77's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (PC, modded installs)
Any chance you're on Linux? -
Why are modern browsers so against the concept of a homepage and opening said homepage with a new tab? I don't get it. At least the war on flash (while IMO was implemented wrong) makes sense. This is probably, somehow, advertising BS.

A simple config patch for 1.4.2 should work just fine in 1.4.5. There's no reason to revert to an older version of the game. Most likely the mod maker just got sick of updating all the version numbers when Squad was patching 1.4 every other day. Did you install Module Manager? All config patches require Module Manager. Edit: Just checked myself. Works fine in 1.4.5.

Is that the Death Star coming up over the horizon?
Geonovast replied to TanDeeJay's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Oh! I was doing the Command Pod because I was doing a full trip with just seps... launch, circularization, de-orbit... and landing. No chutes. That's why it got so big. I had to bring seps and landing gear down with me. Probe core should be a lot easier. I think I also had fins on the bottom few stages to help keep it straight until following prograde was a good idea. -

It's SVE. I tried the same thing once, to get an MK1 CM into orbit with nothing but seps. I think I was around 1900 parts before the thing would just kraken itself to death on the launch pad, before I even had a chance to launch. Physics easing would just murder it... to death. I think I have a video of it, I'll see if I can dig it up when I get home. -
totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
Geonovast replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
I came here to say the exact same thing! Yeah... I really need to get one. I could run a YouTube channel just on the red light runners in this town. I see at least one almost every day. -

Yes... But I shall leave it. -

On my way into work this morning, I was a very erratic driver swerve lanes, pop the curb, run over a road sign, and drive into oncoming traffic. I don't know if it was someone that was on something, running from something, just incapable of paying attention (car did have disabled plates), or some moron on their phone, but it was weird to see. No other cars were hit, the cars coming the other direction were far enough away to stop with plenty of time. -
Why I gotta keep saying it? Pointy End Up.

Every time I look at those parts, I just think of the habitat from this.

Yes I know... but the search does not search for signatures, so applying a search keyword to my signature would do nothing.
-
Probably, and if I was designing a more versatile ship, I would probably do something like this. But it'd be more of an emergency type thing, and it's really only meant to go to the Mun. Maaaaybe Ike. I might stick some sepratrons in a KIS container or something.
-
The search doesn't check sigs, though. I already tried.
-
Well that sucks. I was afraid you'd say that. I'm certain the database is capable of doing the search, it's just specifically written to not be able to. I mean, I can go directly to my profile and see all my posts... so why can't I narrow it down to a topic? I guess I just need to edit all ~1700 of my posts with a signoff on the bottom like some people do in lieu of a signature.

Is it possible to search for all of a specific users' posts in a single topic? Namely myself. I wanna post something in a thread... but I'm honestly not sure if I'd posted it already... and I don't wanna read the whole thing. I could just post it, I suppose, but then someone else would be like "You posted that already" and I would be like "Oh, look, I did! My bad" and then we would both giggle and I would feel silly. I don't wanna feel silly.

I've finally hit the point where grocery shopping makes me physically ill.

You can not log in? Huh. TUBM has dyed hair.

I'm toying with the idea of sticking some SRBs under the nose which would be tuned to tilt it up about 30-40 degrees right before flooring it, in case it's ever on not-great terrain and "driving" somewhere better wouldn't be an option. I could even use the landing legs for a little extra leverage so it doesn't tilt on the wheels.

No major slideshow today. Manned test of this thing with a legit payload. ISRU unit, and a Mun Emergency Return Vehicle. Just a small ship to get two kerbals home in an emergency. The launch went well. I had a lot of oscillations on the last launch with gave me a very inclined orbit last time. This time, I disabled the flaps on the orbiter during launch, and it actually helped a lot! Caught a nice munar insertion burn, then after the cargo is unloaded. The shuttled lands vertically, then extends the wheels, fires the main engines for a split second to lift back off, then the ship tips forward with RCS, and lands back down horizontally on its wheels. Unloads the cargo, then actually takes off just like it would in an atmosphere... just quicker. I had some issues with re-entry. Apparently I need to watch the AoA on this one a lot closer than its smaller cousin, which pretty much re-enters by itself. Still haven't figured out how to come down by the KSC from the Mun, so here it is landed in the middle of nowhere.

Twitches to the Mun ... Sepratrons to the surface

Wait, I have to go get them now? Ugh...
