Developers are quiet: Why aren't they talking to us? Is the game dead? Developers are engaging and posting updates: Why are they spending so much time promoting? Shouldn't they be working on the game?

Sadly, no, you can't. A few things to note: If you're launching from Kerbin, and you drop your boosters while your PE is still under 25km, they will be auto-deleted as the game will assume they would have burned up on re-entry. If you're also worried about ones not during launch or the ones that are jettisoned after your PE is above 25km, then you can just turn down the debris slider in your game settings. Default is 250, but you can turn it down as low as 0. I wouldn't recommend 0, but something like 5 or 10 should be good to not make them disappear immediately, but still not clutter up your save. The only real risk to this is the game may delete something you want to keep if it doesn't have a command pod or probe core on it. (Which it'll do anyway, just not as fast.)

[1.7] KVV - Kronal Vessel Viewer = Exploded ship view
Geonovast replied to linuxgurugamer's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Thread locked at OP Request. -
No. When you switch away from a vessel the game sticks the vessel onto rails. This means that the only calculations done for its trajectory are the ones related to gravity. Each planet also has an "auto-delete" altitude, which means that any vessel that's on rails and falls under that altitude will be automatically delete. The game will consider it destroyed and any crew on board will be killed. The game has what's called a "physics bubble". Your selected craft, and any other crafts within that bubble will have the physics calculations done for them, which is required for the parachutes to work. So you would have to follow your pods down fairly closely with another craft to get them to work. I'm not sure if the Stage Recovery mod would help in this situation. Also I'm moving this to Gameplay Questions.

Inside your save's folder, there is another folder called "Backups". That may have been what was being referred to. Otherwise just hitting ESC and clicking the "Save Game" button will let you create a save and you can name it whatever you like. None of the saves you make are overwritten. All of your named saves and quicksaves are store separately, the autosave function only replaces the persistent.sfs file. By default, the Backups folder saves 5 saves. You change how many it saves in your settings.cfg file. You can also change the autosave interval. Look for these in the settings.cfg file. AUTOSAVE_INTERVAL = 300 AUTOSAVE_SHORT_INTERVAL = 30 SAVE_BACKUPS = 5 All of the saves are basic text files with a .sfs extension. So you can move them out of the saves folder if you want at any time. The only one you have to have is persistent.sfs. The game won't load your save without it. The metadata files aren't needed. The game will remake them if they're missing.

Bearing in mind that the suicide burn countdown is incredibly inaccurate in an atmosphere. I usually hit throttle at -2 to -3 seconds and still come to a stop too early most of the time. -
@Stone Blue, how's it looking now?

Which features will you forgo for an early release?

Fixed that for you. -
Orbital Bug with Breaking Ground.
Geonovast replied to FrenchChris's topic in KSP1 Technical Support (Console)
@FrenchChris, I've split your post off into its own thread under our console support subforum. Can you be more specific with your issue? -
As stated, the Linux version of 1.8.0 has quite a few issues. A workaround for them was to run the Windows version in WINE/Proton. Re-downloading the game would not fix anything, as the bugs were part of the game. They were fixed with the 1.8.1 hotfix. As such, locking this to avoid any further confusion.

I do not. I don't think I've ever seen a mod that'll do this. If you'd like to see a feature added to the stock game, then the Suggestions And Development Discussion is the place for it. But since it seems like you're looking for a mod to install, you'll probably get better answers with it being in Add-On Discussions.

This looks like it would be more suited to Add-On Discussions. So I have moved it there.

More proprietary. Some of the all-in-ones, which I still don't like, do let you change everything. Some let you, say, change the wifi name and DHCP settings, but won't let you port forward. I had cable service once where I was not allowed the login for the box, at all. As long as the box is fully configurable, everything would be fine, albeit possibly annoying.
-
This is my fear. Today, 'easy' equates to: "Here's your magic internet box. Plug it into the wall. Your Wifi password is written on the side" Which is not how I work. I've actually stopped myself from upgrading to a faster internet package, because the next tier up requires the use of modem-router-wifi AP "magic box" provided by my ISP, which my PFSense router would have to sit behind. It's not impossible that the StarLink receiver will just sit on the roof, plug into power, then have a separate box that goes in the house for wifi and, at least hopefully, ethernet connections with a powerline local connection to the receiver. If anyone knows where there's any even preliminary info on this, a link would be appreciated. If the receiver is essentially just a modem, I'll consider jumping on to the early adopter train. If it's a "magic box" scenario, I'll just forget about Starlink altogether.
-
I believe they mentioned in the livestream that they missed. In regards to Starlink itself, I'm wondering if it's going to be set up like a standard ISP where the receiver is basically just a modem, and you hook up your own router if you want, or if it's all going to be super proprietary SpaceX-configured equipment that doesn't let you actually change anything, like some ISPs do.

Banned for photoshopping.

@chipoku Hello, and welcome to the forum. If you'll look up a few posts you'll see that someone else has adopted this mod and started a new thread on it.
