Despite 2.5x KSRSS and JNSQ being roughly 1/4 the size of our solar system, the atmosphere height is roughly the same (90 and 85km respectively vs 100km Karman line on our Earth). The orbital altitudes on the other hand are scaled directly to system scale, GEO in these KSP systems is roughly 1/4 of the IRL GEO. So basically this formula will give you a decent approximation to scale IRL orbits to KSP (RealOrbit_km - 90km) * 0.25 + 90km = KSP equivalent orbit in terms of relative performance.

Drag issue on the jettison SLA has been fixed with a slightly modified custom cube and fixes to the B9 switcher that was preventing it from taking. Here a base engine config Saturn IB launching to equitorial 110x110 in KSRRS 2.5x with about 200m/s spare in the S4B With the upgraded 1973 engines can make 180x180 at 50 degrees launching from Kennedy in KSRSS (Skylab orbit scaled to KSRSS). 0.4 deg/s pitch rate and 100m/s pitch start is essential though.

I've made a commit which prevents drag cube (and FAR voxel) recalculation with the B9 switchers on the capsules and heatshield variants. Its likely the addition of the switchers late in the dev cycle is what introduced the problem. It survived without any abnormalities under similar circumstances as my earlier test which was a lunar return in JNSQ with a 35km periapsis with both regular and offset CoM. Please have a look and let me know if its working for you (or anyone else with similar problems). The potential fix is on both master and dev.

We've updated the craft files with most of the key variants with the last release. If you feel there are interesting or important variants still missing happy to take a look at what you have Please do keep in mind craft files meant for inclusion must be made on an up to date KSP, on a clean install with just BDB and its dependencies (so there are no rogue modules, its generally harmless but it throws an error that alarms some people). Uh can you check on a more recent version of BDB?

If you are using the SLA (spacecraft adapter) that has jettison panels there is a drag issue that prevents saturn IB from getting to orbit. If you use the version with built in hinged panels Saturn IB can get into orbit although its challenging (the real rocket had thin margins too). BDB in general works with 2.5x without additional configs. Its balanced specifically for that.

I am testing with custom defined drag cubes that override generated ones. Please dont take this the wrong way, I know you're trying to help but I've spent ages making little progress on this and am quite tired and frustrated with this problem. I am not inclined to go on further wild goose chases unless someone has considerable knowledge on aero issues and can present me with solutions that are highly likely to work.

The Titan II GLV has been tested extensively with the standard Gemini spacecraft and configuration. If you're packing extra monoprop to get more performance from your Gemini, then you need an upgraded launch vehicle most likely. There seems to be some bugs with the rotation module, cause is uncertain (could be root part related) and solution even less so. In the long run remade IVAs with the correct orientation would be a permanent solution but thats not happening immediately. The problem with SAF is that the staging events for the fairing sides and the top node are not necessarily coupled together, and we have the problem of the second decoupler for the LM which is handled correctly by the current SLA module which hides it until after petal staging. Maybe something could be worked out but I dont want to add a 3rd SLA type and it would be better if the existing SLA could be fixed.

The added cargo bay modules should provide the appropriate shielding now and I've just increased the shielding radius on the standard jettison panel. That said the jettison SLA still underperforms the hinged one due to part drag. The jettison SLA still needs a custom drag cube and I've been experimenting but if someone can provide one that will deliver the exact same performance as the hinge one I would be very grateful. I get 350 m/s of drag loss with the Skylab 4 craft file (with original engine configs and in KSRSS 2.5x to 110km 0 degrees using Mechjeb PVG for a consistent ascent). But havent been able to reduce below 600 m/s drag loss with the jettison panel which eats up the margin to get to orbit. I'm kind of running out of patience with this one since engine upgrade or the alternate SLA can work and I've been bashing my head against this for a while. Im a little surprised by this since we've not had reports about reentry problems with the Apollo. The configs were fine tuned by JSO ages ago and should still be applicable to the new parts and the behavior seemed ok in our last round of testing. That said we can take another look but I'm curious if other people are having similar problems. I've fixed the science transfer issue and about control points can consider those, I dont see any harm.
