  1. https://youtu.be/wzFQJUzoUvM Does this mean superheavy will be landing and launching on its legs?
  2. NASA: slowly develops SLS, attempts to bring Gateway one piece at a time to Halo orbit Musk: Boom look at my big shiny stick. Also, it can bring the entire gateway to the Moon at once.
  3. Difinitely more than 10M. The avionics, fuel tanks, batteries, motors... Probably in the 40M range. With the engines, 50M. Still cheaper than a F9 ride.
  4. His company has 5000 employees? so 250 people is working on starship. Also, consider the fact that those aren't rockets, but water towers that looks like a rocket and flies like a rocket.
  5. What about the reentry aerodynamics? If 1 winglet/airbrake/plasma deflector shield fails, I doubt if Starship can reenter and land.
  6. They had the blessings of the Senate. SpaceX Crew Dragon does not. Anyway, space shuttle did not have an abort system (you call those ejection seats abort system), so lets hope Crew Dragon abort turns out fine.
  7. If Musk manages to shut down SLS, he will be in some trouble. So, unless he manages to find sufficient job replacements for all those SLS contractors, sub contractors and sub-sub contractors...
  8. I mean using orion as a nuclear warhead and a missile motor. How else are you going to blow up colonies?
  9. When will they be developing the penguin, the ostrich, and the albatross?
  10. Good enough. But my ships can be loooong, much longer than 10 meters. Plus, both passing through the ship AND collisions eventually.
  11. I don't need lightspeed then, just a retrograde orbit. Colliding at 11km/s is quite good enough.
  12. Ture, but I figured a retrograde orbit relative to the ring will be good enough.
  13. Either way, I am prepared to exploit this feature.
  14. How hard would it be to mod those rocks with collision mesh? On the other hand, I want to see a rock drifting through my ship.
  15. They are still in the innovation/testing phase, stitching stuff probably gives more flexebility. They might switch to bigger pieces later though, to decrease stitches which I guess are points of failure.
  16. If this is real, I NEED TO SEND SHIPS AT LIGHTSPEED INTO THE RING!
