  1. Oh, and the most INFURIATING detail. WHAT is THIS, Intercept? How dare YOU change Untitled Space Craft to "Default Name"? I'm buying just to refund it afterwards.
  2. Some notes on the UI screenie, for the good and the bad, and ignoring if most of said elements can be hidden or modified ingame: > Top left bar showing the name and location of current vessel is redundant. Said info belongs to Map View and not Flight View. That screen space could be used for the control bar where mods would show up instead, for example. > Tapes around the Nav Ball could be a tad smaller, or have the Ball itself fill the remaining amount of the circumference for ease of visibility. > Throttle is unnecesarily big, and it could be represented in a smaller fashion in between the VEL indicator sticking out of the left and the purple indicator on the top. Same goes for the G's and Atmo density indicators. > Vector icons (Prograde, Normal, Radial, etc) look incredibly small. In fact, I bet most of you haven't even noticed them, because they are quite small. > GO button should be toggleable. It's redundant to spacebar. The argument of "not having to remember a hotkey" isn't good enough. It's a single key. It works. Just... hear me out. I'm not the best at Gimp, the Photoshop of the poor, but I tried my best: Increased size of Ball, glued the indicators to the diagonals instead of having them hang on the sides. Looks way tidier and cleaner. > Terrain looks great from orbit, specially arid/shores (until you look close enough and start seeing squares where water meets land, that doesn't look so nice) I'm not a fan of the pixely font either, but I'm sure most of those elements are easily moddable and I can see the beauty on its aesthetics, so won't complain a lot about it. Besides that, I like how crisp and nice shadows look. Those Roll-Out Solar Arrays look super detailed and in general it all looks wonderful.
  3. Something I'm realizing just now when looking at this perspective of the launch pad. In KSP1, you are able to go down the ramp. But on KSP2, your vessel is spawned on top of a platform that's sitting on top of the ramp itself, which means that I can't roll down the ramp anymore? That said, I so want to build a cool looking rover and just tour around KSC. It looks so beautifully crafted now. The VAB is HUGE compared to KSP1's, and so is the Comms Station Antenna. Wondering now if they are destructible too. Hmmm...
  4. I noticed the lack of the radiation icon aswell. I'm leaning towards radiation being a thing in the Interstellar update in a few months, and right now having it do nothing. What seems to be a "shield" is just one of the vanilla adapters that's recolored, which already exists in KSP1.
  5. Guessing that the engine section also includes SRBs. And Ion, Nuclear, Monoprop thrusters, etc
  6. The duality of time Sometimes I wonder why the hell does time move so fast once you get to a certain age Other times I wonder how 10 days can become so unbearably long
  7. The only reason that comes to mind for them to still not show certain FX and features/elements would be for them to properly showcase them on a Gameplay Trailer. There is no other reason, apart from them not being ready, which I don't think is the cause.
  8. I want to point out a small detail that triggered me a tiny little bit: When the "bow" separates, the camera focus makes an instant snap to the new CoM of the vehicle, instead of a smooth transition like KSP1 does. That's a relatively easy thing to fix, but I'd hate to see it on EA release build. Other than that, this game looks GORGEOUS.
  9. I'm also on the side who thinks parachutes are animated and not affected by physics I just wanna test if landing legs finally work properly...
  10. Sorry, meant to use it as example of what they were experimenting with, but it seems like they decided that best material was no material
  11. Watching this close-up and the one from the video posted one or two days ago I wonder; did they finally choose a material for the Kerbal's faces, or is it just a matte kerbal-green? Cause that's exactly what it looks like
  12. Wondering if that goes to say "hey, this shot was taken in the first publicly shown Early Access build of the game". Build nomenclature always has a meaning. Might be one of the first stable ones, or just a way for them "hey, we're this close!" That said, we're 10 days away of one of the most anticipated game launches of the year. And all we're getting are half-assed mid-low settings screenshots. 10 days. Come on.
  13. After 169 pages of hype, I need to ask about the most concerning and deal breaking issue the entire community might face upon having our first hands experience with KSP2. One which would grant an instant refund. ... WILL THERE BE A MOHOLE?!?!
  14. Hoping so. Wanna post this again for everyone's sake. This is what Nate responded when asked about performance a couple months ago in the PC Gamer interview. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Inverviewer: "What kind of performance should we expect?" Nate: There have been significant advances in multithreading over the last ten years and we are utilizing a lot of those tools Unity gives us to paralelize these processes so that they can take place all at once in a way that doesn't impact framerate. There's Unity jobs, there's compute jobs, rigid body physics uses a job system, the PQS system uses both CPU and GPU optimization, there's a huge amount of highly technical stuff I can't say, but really what it boils down to is: we expect the experience on mid tier machines to improve because we want people to be able to build vehicles with high part counts. That's in fact necessary when we get to the interstellar part of the progression, but of course, everytime we make that sort of improvement there will be a commensurate improvement with the people with the very high-end machine, so if you got the fancy equipment it will have a multiplicative effect on the performance of the game. But yes, overall this is the area where we're seeing the biggest gains week on week in the lead up to Early Access, the game just gets more performant every day and we just keep, you know, raising our targets in terms of what kinds of part counts we want to support, so if you've been watching the footage we've been releasing over the last few months, you've probably noticed footage from three months ago so it can be a little bit herky-jerky in terms of frame rate but we're seeing big improvements there. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Really hope these words become true the 24th.
  15. The thing for me is, as long as I'm able to enable/disable/tweak every single performance-intensive setting, I'm happy, because it's starting to feel like my 1060 is going to struggle big time...
  16. The point being is, if they really want to experience the entire game first hand without being spoiled (which is a totally valid way of doing it), why would they look on forum threads (and official social media accounts, which is where this one came from) that are constantly posting the most breaking news and content we get? I can't see where that responsibility lies on me and not on them not not spoil themselves about the looks of a... pixelated, unrecognizeable videogame main menu. If I don't want to get spoiled on a show I'm watching, I'm not going browsing the community Reddit / Forums of said show and hoping everyone is considering my feelings when sharing things about it. That said, this discussion is steering away from the main topic, so I'll stop it here and let mods consider whether that is a spoiler or not and act on consequence.
  17. I don't get how a picture posted publicly by the official KSP Twitter account is a spoiler to anything. You can barely grasp that the main menu has, well, a menu. And a logo, and a spacecraft. And that some people are looking at the VAB, which has already been seen. If mods consider it a spoiler, they are free to delete my message. That said, I'd be extremely dissapointed by such response lol. If someone considers anything new that shows up as spoilers, in a Hype Train Thread of an upcoming videogame, they might aswell just, you know, not get in the actual thread that revolves around sharing news?
  18. I also just noticed that every PC is fitted with a cam and a Streamer Deck thingy. There's for sure some nice HQ content coming from out fav creators
  19. Edit: They appear to have deleted this tweet for some unknown reason. Too late
