  1. Hello, reader (voc. sing.), and here are 2 more pages! I have done more flying, rendez-vous-ing and docking the craft together and flying them into Low Munar Orbit. With all 3 recyclers drawing a combined total of 1.5EC/s, I have enough snacks to leave them there for 37 more days if I want. I should have done more panels, but I ran out of time. (The booster on these craft is a load of 1.875m tanks, with 7x Torch 0.625m lifter engines from Restock+, as I don't have any 1.875m engines unlocked yet. Restock+ is a collection of parts which are missing from stock. Restock+ is really useful for my Slightly Modded (TM) career mode.) Tune in next time for a Mun landing!
  2. Hello, non-existent readers of this thread, and welcome to another couple of pages of Contracts, Contracts and Yet More Contracts. Firstly, a contract for ScanSat: Next, a couple of tourists: Now off to rescue 2 stranded kerbals (how did they even get to orbit? We only did it half a solar-eclipse-cycle (hereafter munth) ago!) And now a taster of What I Will Have Done By Tomorrow But Am Too Lazy To Do Tonight: I wanted Gene to make a joke about melted cheese in the last panel, but there was not enough space. Tune in tomorrow for a Mun mission! And then tomorrow for a Mun lander! And also tomorrow there will be a docking! But not today, I need to get the port alignment indicator (you know, the one which #ShouldBeStock).
  3. Why is there a decoupler between the Mk1 pod and the crew cabin? (Once you play KSP for a while, you get really paranoid about weight ).
  4. Sorry for the double post, but as there was not a reply... Today, we go on a VERY BORING tourist flight! Luckily for my reader (in the singular), I limited it to 1 page. Then I did a slightly-less-boring Munar flyby. Tune in next time for a Munar Probe!
  5. It's impossible, sorry. But you can link moderators such as Snark or Vanamode by putting the @ sign in front of a username, like this: @demon_313. Also, I reported your post to the moderators a message along the lines of "Please can you merge overlapping threads."
  6. Just to let you know, in order for ease of reading you should really reply to your initial thread with the updates, like the other reporters do. The moderators can fix your mistake but please don't do it again. In order to let you know I'm not being critical because I'm evil, I am giving you rep and a nice emoticon.
  7. The Origin of this Thread (BORING INFORMATION): I wanted to post about my new career mode save with both MH and BG, as I thought we (that is, me + whoever decides to read my undoubtably poorly written mission report) would find it interesting to learn about the application of the robotic parts to career mode. I was going to post about it earlier, but I thought it might be nice to write about it a little. So I made up a vague storyline referencing something (if you get it I will give you rep) and somehow, I ended up with a not-half-bad graphic-novel style mission report. Mods List (SLIGHTLY LESS BORING INFORMATION): I am playing on Moderate difficulty (one harder than Normal), mainly meaning that I have to pay to research a part once I have unlocked it with science. I am also playing with a few mods installed. Here are the ones which impact gameplay: - Both DLCs - KAC, Transfer Window Planner, KER and Trajectories: Essential for any KSP play-through. - Stock Visual Enhancements and Scatterer: So my pictures are less boring. - KAS and KIS: In order that I can flat-pack rovers. - SCANsat: To give more purpose to probes and to add a little challenge. Also because I like the maps. - ReStock and ReStock+ : To make the parts look better (in my opinion) and to add some parts I feel were missing. - USI-LS: In order to make longer duration missions harder (but not impossible). - K&K Planetary Base Systems - they have a nice Extraplanetary Launchpad and an Algae Farm which turns Ore -> Fertiliser (+Mulch -> Supplies). - OSE Workshop - to produce spare parts if, like I invariably will, I forget antennae. - MIP (Modification of Inner Planets) - To add a couple more destinations. You will see them as the story progresses. - NF Solar and Electrics - Because USI-LS makes me use a load more EC. And (stock) solar doesn't work so well at Jool. Also NF Solar is *really cool*. - Heat Control - Because NF Electric makes loads of extra heat. - MkIV Spaceplanes - I HATE ROCKETS and now I can fly bigger payloads into orbit without them. - Kerbal Atomics - I love these 2.5m NERVAs. I am also imposing the restriction upon myself that there may only be 1 rocket launched per day. Chapter List (NOT VERY BORING INFORMATION): Links to Imgur albums. Only finished chapters included. Chapter 1 - Professional Kludges Chapter 2 - I Need to Do More Calculations Chapter 3 - Designing and Refining The beginning! (NOT VERY BORING STORY): Tune in next time for me going to the Mun and getting orbital science. Or don't. (Tune in, that is. I will be getting the orbital science anyway, and you cannot stop me. Muahahahaha.)
  8. Thanks @sturmhauke and @Shadow dream, I used your advice and the Kenlinstar Awesum works now. Now I just need something to put in it...
  9. The struts are because they flopped around before. They are connected to I/K (that is, up/down). Tomorrow I will try without struts. (The doors work though, as do the solar 'sails'.
  10. Testing in a 0.1g simulation: Working title: the Kenlinstar Awesum. Named after Martystu's famous ship, the Kenlinstar Awesum. There is a bug in the side nacelles (?), I want them to rotate to VTOL mode but they do not, even with Infinite EC on.
  11. Note the discrepancy between Target Angle and Current Angle. It has been like this for a while now. This is stock (both DLCs) and the output log accessed from [ALT] + [F12] shows nothing. (The ship has the working title of the Kenlinstar Awesum if you were wondering)
  12. Is a vacation a holiday? (EDIT: It is. So bon vacance!) EDIT in order not to double post:
  13. There goes my plan to blackmail you into... *dramatic pause* writing more chapters of PI and Voyager . (But seriously, how cool would a ITV with robot parts be?)
  14. It's better than a lot of The Adventures of Martystu Kerman, everyone's favourite meta-fanfic. (And if you want a meta-meta fanfic... someone should write that.) (And you might want to remove your full name from that google doc.)
  15. I will read anything if it is written by an artist such as you.
  16. Gah! I reread the Jool Odyssey an am out of rep! EDIT: And the next day, I was no longer out of rep. So I repped. (?)
  17. I think that it's too heavy for the blades. I can't work out how to move ailerons further out from the central rotor.
  18. I failed to make a helicopter. It lifted off the ground and then crashed back down again.
  19. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Thank you @sturmhauke! One question: Does anyone have any ideas why it does this? I put a freewheeling servo underneath to absorb the counter rotation and now it jumps around like the Kraken is shaking it. (Those pictures are seconds apart). EDIT: Just remembered, no change with SAS on. EDIT EDIT: I rebuilt it and somehow, the flailing about is fixed!
  21. Thank you so much! I would rep you but I re-read E:O0 today, so I am out of rep.
  22. How does one build a helicopter? I have tried and all my attempts ended in reaching a couple of metres in height, spinning out and falling down. Then I exploded. Thanks in advance.
  23. I tried to make a steam train, like Triop made the steam engine. It just clipped in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out and in and out and didn't go anywhere. Any ideas?
  24. So I was experimenting with Breaking Ground, and I decided to make a walker. At first, I made a hexapedal walker. Eventually I got bored with that and tried to make a bipedal walker. I found it very hard to make it stable enough, and to make the walking cycle so the legs didn't impede each other. After finally building a walker which worked well on Duna, I realised it would make a good challenge. Here are the rules: The walker must be bipedal - 2 legged. The legs can be made out of any selection of robotic parts, but they must be legs. The walker must walk. As much as I liked the Frog Klapaucius made, it is not a walker. It must work either on Duna, or on 1/3 gravity on Kerbin. I recommend Kerbin because of the runways. It should require minimal control input. That is, you do not need to be constantly righting it and preventing falls. It must have enough EC generation to work. Infinite Electricity is not allowed. It must make it 50m without exploding. I have tried to make these rules as loose as possible, so that as many crazy contraptions as you can think of are allowed. Mods are allowed, but the joints should be from Breaking Ground.
