StarCrusher, is it possible to provide me with a EVE config which only provides the gas giant lightning effect and nothing else? I love the effect yet my computer cant handle the stress of clouds. Also, my craft explode due to overheating on Kerbin or anywhere for that matter...- 4,170 replies

I gopt to say this is pretty impressive in its own right, and I tip my hat towards you my good sir. But someone else has preformed such a task... And got to Duna and back... -
"The first step on Duna is not a kerbal, but all Kerbals..." My first ever successful mission to Duna! I have landed and returned to the mothership and have discarded the lander, which will spend its final moments smashing into the red planet. A memorial flag has been planted and the mothership has 1.6 Km's of Delta V!

*Sniff* I am sad to say that the Red spice mothership had a major design flaw, it get flipping forward because of the displaced center of mass... So I have to sadly discontinue it... Luckily, I got its successor into orbit... The Red Spice Mk2! It contains a lander with over 2.5Km's of Delta V inside it. The mothership herself has 3720 meters of Delta V inside, which is more than enough to do a round trip to Duna... The lander was safely tested in a Duna simulation. Which by the way, was quite glitchy, although I didn't bother to fix the glitches because they are sacred and belong to the lord the Kraken. Ahhh the beauty of test flights...

Kerbin return vessel docked! The Red Spice mothership is fully loaded and ready! Guys, best of luck with the mission. Oh wait, you guys might want to know the mission plan. Well, here you go... 1. Get red spice into orbit and load it up with a Ike and Duna lander, as well as a kerbin return vessel. 2. Burn to Duna. 3. Aerobrake in Duna's atmosphere to save Delta V. 4. Go into a LDO and launch Duna Lander. 5. Duna lander lands on Duna and initiates all the jazz. 6. Launch Duna lander off Duna and randevu to the mothership. 7. Refuel lander and burn to Ike (If delta V is high enough.) 8. Repeat the process done on Duna. 9. Burn from Ike and get back to Kerbin. 10. Use Kerbin return vessel to land on Kerbin while the mothership is left in a parking orbit.

Welp, took me a bit, but got my Ike and Duna lander loaded! The Red spice mothership is nearly fully loaded and ready for its flight to Duna! (And my first proper flight interplanetary except for that one time that I got a random Eve encounter (but the Apoapsis was nearly outside of eves SOI.)) So best of luck for me guys Just need to get that kerbin return vessel constructed and randevu with the mothership, 4.8 K of delta V inside!

Got a Duna Mothership into Orbit... Testing out a revised Titan, and also needed a Duna Mothership so that once a Duna encounter is established, I can transfer over to the world of red spice! The Mothership is called Red Spice fittingly, will soon launch a lander and a kerbin return vessel onto Red Spice... Buuuutttt, the revised Titan... Had a setback... You can tell what setback it is just from this picture alone...

There is a mk3 fuel storages, the 3 clamp-o-torn seniors, the engine cluster connection part and then the crew cabins. 7 parts is ridiculously small, you need RCS to dock with a space station or else you would yave trouble trying to oreintate your craft to dock using a booster. Leave mine as a exception, it's too late now and if you take mine out, after all this hard work, then I'll be angry with you. Also, I did not see the rule, hell I just read the rules and there isn't a 7 part rule. -
