I meant just the planets. No moons. I’m with you on that one.
-
I forgot to add, I did challenges 2 and 5, well, for 5 I included 4 and passengers, not 2. Not sure if that counts or not.

I’ve realized many people on this forum have space races, but they all seem to require mods. Now I have a computer that can’t really take on more than BD armory. So I decided to set up a full blown stock space race for people like me who can’t or don’t want to install mods for ksp. Up to 7 competitors will be allowed. Each one will take on an organization for the current space race of Mars, but in this case Duna! The competition will begin on November 9 (Saturday) All competitors will use the science mode gameplay. First one to set up 3 five module settlements will win. Competitors: KASA: (kspnerd122) (FINISHED)The United States of Kermerica’s national space program, they are widely known for landing Neil Kerman and Buzz Kerman on the Mun in 1969. SpaceK: (baybrawler) Run by economist and billionaire Elon Kerman, SpaceK is known for being regarded as the most successful privately owned space program. Green Origen: (Robonoise) Another privately owned space program, Green Origen focuses on space tourism, and is run by billionaire Jeff Kerman. Duna One: (raptus)(FINISHED) Duna One is an operation based in Kolland that wants to kolonize Duna. KESA: (Jeb head mug Kerman) The KESA is a space program run by the continent Kerope, and helped boost the progress of the Kerbin Space Station. Roskosmos/Kussian Space agency: (Fraus) The Kussian Space Agency, popularly called Roskosmos is known for their Stayputnik, the first artificial Kerbin satellite. Khisese National Space Administration: (fuzzyhead) The Kainese National Space Administration is known for their invention of fireworks, which later became rockets, and are now planning on making a space station in orbit of Kerbin. Kindian Space Research Organization:(splatn’t) The KSRO is known for being among the best space programs on Kerbin. They have in the past run several Khandrain missions and have several Duna Orbiters. Edit: Just wanted to add that all companies that were listed above are based off of real life space programs. NASA, SpaceX, Blue Origen, Mars 1, eESA, Roscosmos, Indian Space Research Organization and Chinese National Space Administration. Rules: •All competitors must use science mode.(default settings) •No mods are allowed with the exception of ONLY visual mods (no expansions either). •No cheat menu •You can use replicas of actual ships, but try to get creative. •Be ready to submit pictures •Good luck Leaderboard: 1. Kspnerd122 (year 1, day 200) 2. Raptus (year 2, day 9)

I think terraforming planets like Duna would be cool.

Multiplayer cooperative adventures

Now I think I think I’ll let Jeb try pod racing. -
I was watching the cinematic trailer (I lost count how many) and noticed at one point one of the kerbals cracked their knuckles. With fingers! In a space suit! Now even in ksp 1 kerbals had fingers (see Gene in upper right corner of 1.7.1-1.7.3 launcher), but I liked the oven mitt like gloves. It kinda looked like the kerbals were getting ready to go skiing. So this merits several questions, how will kerbals use their fingers? Will new emotes be released? Will kerbals react more to dangerous situations (If so, I’m building a kerbalcoaster)? What will planting a flag look like? Will we be able to watch Jeb try to eat a sandwich with a helmet on?

Well, what can I say? Kerbals like space, there’s aught to be a disagreement every once and a while. -

A space battle with BD armory lasers with one of us defending Dre’s and the other Duna. We set up a base on each planet and see who can conquer the others. -
Nice is an understatement, that’s amazing! Even if you can use them for mining, you can’t have you kerbals walk on them, build bases, set up outpost, or anything else without an arm meant for asteroid redirect.
-
I’m hoping that in the new ksp you can land on asteroids. Technically, you can in ksp 1 because Gilly is an asteroid, but what about asteroids floating through space? We could use them for resources and bases maybe? I think connecting two astronauts into a refueling outpost would be cool.

Hands-free flying challenge.
Robonoise replied to Klapaucius's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
When I tried my plane with SAS it just went on forever. Never crashed. This was because the nose never really went up or down, so it kind of just skimmed the ocean for a while. So I decided to try the no SAS category. I’m still working on it, but I’m getting some ideas after watching the video provided. -
Awesome! I meant setting a course and re- entry of kerbin by easy, though.
-
Looks amazing!
-
At least you got there. Great job! Best of luck on the easiest part, getting home!
-
Now you guys are getting it! But remember, the more you mod, it becomes less of a challenge.
-
Great job! Just want to remind everyone that there was no rule against assembling ships and landers in orbit of Kerbin.
-
Yet doable, as said by @pmborg. Also, a thick atmosphere means better performance from parachutes! Now Duna in 10x g would really be a challenge!

Duna Outpost Mission Architecture Challenge
Robonoise replied to Death Engineering's topic in KSP1 Challenges & Mission ideas
Thanks! I’ll do that! -
You might have heard of the successful failure, Apollo 13. And kerbals definitely know how to crash, so I challenge you to recreate the Apollo 13 mission. How it works: Before Apollo 13 could happen, Apollo 11 had to happen! So before you begin the challenge, you have to make your rocket, then land on the mun to prove you can make it in the first place. Apollo 13 had several problems. For starters, during ascent, a stage 1 engine shut off before the other 4. So one of your engines should shut off before the rest in the upper atmosphere. During the actual mission, there was an explosion when the astronauts were on their way to the moon, so you must plot a course to the moon before your problem. The astronauts used the moon as a slingshot to Earth, so you should too. As well as this, you can only use your lunar module’s engines, not your service module’s engine. Rules: 1. Must use stock parts only 2. Must have CM, LM, and SM (capsule, lander, engine for capsule+fuel). 3. No fuel transfers. 4. No mods that might affect gameplay or cheats. 5. All burns after explosion must be performed with the lunar module. 6. Astronauts must return within 10 days of launch, like the real crew. 7. Your kerbals must be in the LM at all times except before the explosion and during re-entry. 8. After the explosion, SAS is not allowed as the astronauts did not have much control over their ship Good luck! Extra credit: 1. Use realism overhaul. 2. Shut down battery’s and power cells in CM after explosion.
