  1. @Grogs and @Superfluous J both are good ideas....yet still masochistic! *cracks knuckles* time to do some good ‘ol save file hacking....
  2. Ooh boy...,today was something... So while booting up ksp, I thought it would be fun to capture and asteroid and use it as a refueling port for my rockets and sstos. So I found a class c, and blasted off. The rocket I sent to capture it was an absolute behemoth....weighing in at 152 tons fully fueled and with 11,956 m/s it was a beast that could easily have made it to any planet or moon. So I burned to the astroid as usual, and everything was dandy. I snatched it up with a claw, with now only 7,564 m/s. More then enough to get home. Now the trouble started. Due to my proximity and location relative to kerbin I had to wait 7 years for a transfer window. When I got to it, I made a maneuver node and got an encounter, easy peasy. . For some reason, I could only get a backwards encounter , so I would be encountering kerbin and have to burn against it’s orbit....and wasting deltaV and ending up in a retrograde orbit. Thankfully, my next encounter would get me a proper encounter. So after getting that kerbin gravity assist, I lost that second encounter. I decided to get a couple mun gravity assists, to nudge my way into an orbit. The first one got my into a stable orbit, but for some reason I left kerbin’s soi even though my ap and pe were well inside the limits! I had a maneuver node set up to get into a kerbin encounter/get ready for an orbit....and the ‘start burn’ indicator said to start the burn in.....101 years and 236 days....YIKES! so after a few years and 2 hours of faffing with nodes, I managed to get into a kerbin orbit. By the time I splashed down....it was MET 11y 418d! Almost for 12 years, Jeb Bill and Bob were drifting through space. Speaking of them...if it were any other kerbals that were on this mission I would’ve said screw it and left ‘em out there. (I’d rescue them eventually, but they could wait) but because it was the three vets....I had to Apollo 13 the heck out of this mission to get them home. This is easily the most intense, difficult, and masochistic mission I have ever done. any-who, sorry for the super long story, hope it was somewhat interesting!
  3. That really stinks! you could download kas and kis, and slap a solar panel or two on it with that.
  4. I get to go back to school....yippe! Only problem is, who knows how long we’ll be open. Ugh, I am doing an asteroid base mission and I have to wait 7 YEARS for a transfer window back to kerbin. Whoa! There’s a comet I just spotted in ksp....it’s called Felipe-Lanne-Wehregee 2! Nice of the devs to put HarvesteR’s name available for comets
  5. The other day I was wanting to build an asteroid base. I was thinking that a regular, dull gray asteroid would be to boring. It would be best to find a MAGIC ASTEROID! But, I could not find anything, anywhere that could tell me if any asteroid was magic! So I had to alt-f12 kerbals to each asteroid to see if any where magic. Is there a better way to seek out these rare and elusive behemoths?
  6. Looks fun! I will go build a fighter as soon as I get to my pc.
  7. Ok....it’s been a while since I’ve posted here. How far has the station come along?
  8. Just use the stock maneuver mode window. It has an encounter read out, and that is super helpful. Otherwise, it’s just practice, practice, practice!
  9. 45 degrees is the transfer window angle...you can use kerbal engineer redux to show the amount of days left until a transfer window.
  10. Darn Double darn! oh well.... @Misguided_Kerbal what’s the main thing keeping you from reaching duna? Is rocket set-up, deltav, etc.? now....to find some kerbals in need of rescue...
  11. Yeah..... I know it seems like a rip-off, but it really isn’t.(ish) It’s a community-led project to rescue stranded kerbals.
  12. Hey, would anyone want to join the kerbal rescue force I created? it entails rescuing kerbals that have been stranded, and you will receive a badge to put in your signature. Also, it will be turned into a YouTube series depending on who is playing. Sorry, had to have a shameless self-plug somewhere.
  13. Mmmm...... Good idea! This shall now be a youtube video series, for any and all to enjoy. We can do that/or and written reports with pictures.
  14. Yep! That will be the main focus of this thread-to rescue any/all stranded kerbals.
  15. Ahh... well, it does/will take place in the game so it should just stay here in ksp discussion.
  16. The rescue? Nah...but hey....maybe someday we could make a series out of it! (or if people want it to be recorded, we could. Anything goes)
  17. The other day when I was browsing the the ksp sub-reddt, I couldn’t help but notice the large amount of people with stranded kerbals. I thought to myself, what if there was a team to save all those kerbals? And thus, the Kerbal Rescue force was born! Anywho, if you have a stranded kerbal just post it here with how they became stranded. Someone will volunteer to rescue them. Sounds fun, right? Also.....we will make a Youtube series out of this!! And anybody that helps to rescue a kerbal will receive a special badge for their signature. If you wish to send me the save file, you can email me at Lewie820@gmail.com Current KRF staff- Senior Kerbal rescuer- @Lewie Second in command- @The Doodling Astronaut The new guy-@Dat Kerbal Dude
  18. I stated January 2020.... and have logged (roughly) 324 hours.
  19. Yep, that’s where I went wrong. Thanks man!
