Did you know? [Your place to post random facts]
Ben J. Kerman replied to Dr. Kerbal's topic in Forum Games!
I think that is also true for Germans and Americans. Did you know that the letter K is in the word Kerbal?- 25 replies

Well, then you need this! Before construction equipment, my favorite thing was industrial safety products (I still like them, just not as much) We don't want to get this thread locked, but I am sure that as long as we don't say full swear words, it will be fine.

Does anyone know who on the forum has a signature that is a reference to Douglas Adams's book "So long, and thanks for all the fish" ? I can't remember on what part of the forum or who had that signature (Obviously, otherwise I would not be asking who!) The forum user's signature was : The last ever dolphin message was misinterpreted as a surprisingly sophisticated attempt to do a double-backwards somersault through a hoop whilst whistling the "Star Spangled Banner", but in fact the message was this: So long, and thanks for all the fish. What is Omega Mart? Is it a forum thing, something from a game, or jut some meme/joke that I don't understand because I don't really understand or care about most memes?

Did you know that the first mobile tower crane (Not the regular tower cranes you see in large cities. Those are assembled by mobile cranes on the site) was invented in 1949 by Hans Liebherr? It is basically small tower (And jib) sections that are connected by hinges and winches/cables/hydraulics so they can fold down onto a trailer. So instead of needing 10 trucks and a mobile cranes for a regular tower crane, you have 1 truck (Sometimes 2; 1 for transporting the actual crane, and 1 for transporting the counterweight). Liebherr also makes mobile construction cranes (The MK 73-3.1, MK 88-4.1, and MK 140), so instead of having the mobile tower crane on a trailer, it is directly mounted to a vehicle. Spierings also makes mobile construction cranes, but they look kind of ugly (In my opinion) https://www.liebherr.com/en/usa/about-liebherr/history/1949-1960.html I will post more pictures here later, or you can look them up yourself. Sorry if that sounds harsh or like I am lazy or something, but I have slow internet, and right now it is even slower than normal, so it is taking over 8 minutes to load a single webpage.- 25 replies

I strained my ankle today. It's not that bad, but it does hurt. I am fine though; Nothing serious. Anyway, good night!

I came here to ask about that too. When I saw this on the Megathread, I thought it was photoshopped (I know that obviously this is not real, computers weren't even a thing back then (Actually, they might have been. But not personal computers, and KSP was definitely not a thing back then), but why is this here and what is it? Can an actual moderator please answer (If you have an answer)? Has it just been put here by a forum creator as a joke, or is it some kind of error???

*Beep Beep Beep Beep* "Out Of Oxygen. Out Of Oxygen" *Beeeeeeeeeeep* "No magic remaining" When operating an excavator in KSP while operating a real excavator? (Let's say the real excavator is a Liebherr R956, and the KSP excavator is a Kiebherr K956)
-
No, I am not a cat nor a kat, but I have seen Cat excavators. The user below me has Legos.

Oh, I did not know that. As Bender Bending Rodriguez said, "You learn somethin' dumb every day!" ((I am just kidding, that was not dumb. I am just a Futurama fan.))

My favorite font that is on the forum is Times New Roman, but including all fonts, my favorite are Rockwell, OCR-A, and Times New Roman, but Courier New isn't bad. Go on Microsoft Word (Or PowerPoint. Or Publisher. Or Excel. Or Access. Or Outlook.) to see the fonts I mentioned.

I just learned that they drive on the left side of the road in Japan. I knew that it was like that in the UK and South Africa, but I had no idea Japan was like that until now. I actually looked up a list, and many countries drive on the left side (I think in Jamaica they drive on the left side too). The weird thing is that the list had England, Great Britain, and the UK (Pretty much all the same thing, but the UK does technically include Ireland and Scotland)

Mod/Feature idea- Extreme Weather
Ben J. Kerman replied to ILikeMods's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
Maybe if this added as a feature, there should be a way to disable it/alter it in the settings if you have a slower computer or just don't want the weather. -
To EV or not to EV, that is the question...
Ben J. Kerman replied to StrandedonEarth's topic in The Lounge
Although I am not even anywhere close to the mid point of my life, mine is wanting a Liebherr LTM 1060-3.1 (Even an LTM 1030-2.1 would be fine!) Unfortunately, I don't have about half a million dollars jut lyin' around. Even little tiny skid steers (Often called a Bobcat. It's a brand name thing, like Kleenex, Coke, Xerox, etc.) cost about as much or even more than a new car . Yes, on the Liebherr website it says that the LR 1250.1 Unplugged's max speed is 1.60 km/h (1 mph) You would probably be late to work at that speed! Also, the metal tracks mess would up the road anyway. That is why you often see wheeled excavators used for roadwork rather than crawler excavators. But, with a maximum capacity of 250 tonnes, you could easily move cars on the road front of you, if the driver would let you put straps around their car so you have something to hook on to. -

I think that electric vehicles are an okay idea, but they are too expensive and not efficient enough yet to be practical. I don't really know much about them though, so maybe I am wrong. -
Ok, sure. But if you don't like them you can just choose to not look at them.

I just went to spacedock.com, and it said something about how the domain is listed for sale and that I can buy the domain. (for $175,000!) Weird. Hopefully I can still easily download mods that CKAN does not have.
