expanding on this idea the staging could activate different parts of scripts or different scripts, so stage 1 activates a basic launch script and that goes to orbit, stage 2 intercepts the mun, stage 3 lands, and stage 4 drives a rover to points of interest. But you would of course have to code everything yourself so it is not just a button to do it for you.

Yes, you could also stage engines multiple times to turn them on and off But I never thought about science equipment in staging. That's a really good idea!
