Oh nice! thanks. I do hope this feature is expanded upon, and gets to meet it's potential when the game is finished. Yeah, I think cheats is a very imperfect solution. For one, Cheats aren't accessible during a normal science/career/exploration mode playthrough. That alone makes it pretty useless. Also, a nex player trying to explore a new planet for the first time wouldn't want to use cheats to go there, since that would spoil the visuals of the area and make exploration less effective as a primary motivator to go places.

I know now is no time to add scope to the project of KSP 2, but this is something I've imagined for KSP 2 since the beggining. When you build a new vehicle, how many times do you do a quick "launch then revert to VAB" just to test or two systems? In my case, and many others, it's a lot! It's a lot of reverting however, and it's rather limited in it's usefulness as a testing method. Namely, you can't test any other scenario other than on kerbin, on the launchpad. if you need to test a design for an extraterrestrial atmosphere or surface, there's no way of testing that design short of teleporting with cheats, or just going there. However, sending a mission to another celestial body to test one design, before iterating it again, takes a VERY long time and most people won't do that. It also can, for some players, undermine the actual mission that they want to do, especially for new players going to another planet or moon for the very first time. As of right now, no solution present in the stock game of KSP 1 or 2 is really adequate. However, a good solution does exist, a simulation testing mode integrated into the VAB. This would allow for all the testing one could need! Also, removing all of that reverting associated with vehicle testing would (probably) help make multiplayer easier to impliment. I think I may vaguley remember something showing a testing mode in one of the pre-launch episodes, but I don't know. Have we seen something about this being confirmed? It would be a great addition.

Mods in Stock
Turtlegirl1209 replied to Choctofliatrio2.0's topic in KSP1 Suggestions & Development Discussion
I really think they should add the kerbal alarm clock mod to stock... Of course, KSP on PC already has this feature with the latest versions, but I play on console, which is still on 1.10. But yeah, seems like it would be really useful, but unfortunatly the KSP teams have lied to everyone, since they said it would be out by the end of last year, and of course there's been absoulutly nothing. NOt even a delay announcement! or even a cancellation! or litterally any recognition of what they've done wrong! So we're still stuck on 1.10, and we don't have KAC in stock... but it would be nice if we could have that, like everyone else does. -
SAME! I wish I could help you with your question, but I don't know, mostly because Private Division still haven't updated KSP on console to 1.12, despite the promise that both 1.11 and 1.12 would release before the end of last year. So yeah, I don't know how the ground anchor is... sounds amazing though, it's a shame that @Ghostii_Space and @Dakota, as well as PD customer support, refuse to give even the most basic of transparency to the community. Maybe one day I'll know what the ground anchor is like, but I guess I'm losing hope at this point. Guess one doesn't need hope if they're stubborn enough.

It's now June 4th, 2023. The release window for the 1.11 and 1.12 updates coming to console KSP was "before the end of 2022". Despite this, we have no game updates, no dev updates, no delay announcements, and also no announcement of the cancellation of this project. There has been litterally ZERO communication whatsoever. Even contacting Private Division customer service won't get you an acknowledgment of the update's continued existance, only a "we have no information, wait for announcements". We've waited plenty. Back in February or march, I wondered alound in one of my posts, If I would still be asking come june, december, or next year. Well, it's june, and there's still absolutley no sign of anyone over at Private Division giving a single momentary thought to the console community. We've been completley and utterly abandoned. Keep in mind, the work on these updates (supposedly) started in September of 2021. It's June of 2023. Honestly, I'm tired of gaming companies just constantly lying to their fanbases with zero repurcussions. I bought KSP on console in January of 2021, knowing it was behind on content updates, but also with the understanding that the devs had made commitments to the commuinity to bring the game up to the 1.12 content available on PC. These are promises blatent lies that have real influence on consumer purchasing decisions, and they should be treated as such. If the updates aren't coming, there's no reason not to tell us. If the updates have been kicked back, there's no reason not to tell us. If the updates are coming tommorow, there's no reason not to just say that. If the updates are cancelled completley, or never started devellopment in the first place, that's something the community has the right to know. Keeping your community in limbo benefits absolutley no one. @Ghostii_Space @Dakota @St4rdust This is your mess to clean up. I'm sorry, as I understand it isn't your fault, but you all play the role of community managers. Well, your community has been abandoned. Figure it out. So far, these requests for basic transparency have been met with total and complete silence. However, as the saying goes, "yyou cannot not communicate". The message that has been sent is one of apathy and indiffrence for the consumers, the players, and the passionate fans. How long will you allow that to continue? It's up to you.

Honestly, I'm not hopeful. Private Division hasn't set a good precedent for this situation with their horrid treatment of the community with KSP 1 EE. Despite years of comlaining about game breaking bugs... ... and even the next-gen console versions of KSP STILL BEING ON 1.10!, ... We get absolutley NOTHING. I mean, if you want an example, 1.11 and 1.12 have both been promised to come out on console! However, that announcement was made in September of 2021. In April of the following year, Community Manager @Ghostii_Space made the announcement that both updates would come before the end of 2022. Guess what didn't happen? There was no update. No biggie, after all game devs get delayed all the time. Here's the thing; not only was there no update, there was no delay announcement, no new ETA, noo devellopment update. NOTHING. It's been over a YEAR since KSP teams communicated publicly about the updates in any fashion. In fact, they won't even answer questions when interrogated directly through social media, the forums, or even through their customer service lines. Let me insist; over an entire year of complete radio silence, even when the latest possible release date completley passed. Private Division (yes, private division, not squad) has set a precedent that has completley destroyed my faith in them. They have shown that they place no value in the console community. As such, I don't expect too see KSP 2 on console for at least another few years. I half expect the console version to release well after the 1.0 release, though thats just my expectation. Even when it does release, it very well might be lackluster, like when KSP 2 EA first launched on PC. To say the least, I'm pessimistic. This is normally something I avoid, but with how KSP on console has been treated, who could blame me. There is one element to this that inspires a little bit of hope, however. One of the main reasons that KSP EE has been abandoned is due to the studio history of the project. Enhanced Edition was not made by Squad, rather it was develloped by BlitWorks. They ported the game to both supprted console generations, and they were respnsible for keeping the game up to date. However, their contract was terminated before they got to finish the game. They were let go once they had gotten it up to 1.10, and before all of the game-breaking issues had been patched. This was in september 2021. At that moment, PD announced their intentions to update EE to 1.12, along with announcing that they were hiring new internal positions to help this effort. Please note how we are still on 1.10, and many players still have their games destroyed by bugs. It is now May of 2023, and PD "started work" in SEPTEMBER OF 2021! This can be a good sign for KSP 2, simply because unless something goes horribly, horribly wrong (like what happened with KSP EE), then it might be fine. After all, KSP 2 on console is being develloped by the same studio that's making the PC version, Intercept Games. So, for the situation to go as poorly as it did with KSP EE, something would have to go truely, horribly, catastrophically wrong. I want to have hope for KSP 2. I really do. But, it's hard. Being a console KSP fan, I've seen KSP 2 on console go from "It'll be out before I'm done with middle school!", now all the way to "It won't be out unitl I'm well into college, and even then it may not meet basic standards". (Also, that college thing is assuming only two years, two and a half years for console release. Seems like the reasonable earliest possible time to expect the console release. Might be more, only time will tell). I don't know. The early access announcement was a punch in the gut to the console community, because it's basically an announcment of a two year minimum delay. It sucked, and I know it did for PC players as well. Maybe KSP 2 on console will be awesome, who knows. But, I can't possibly be optimistic about it until I can trust PD - Which I cetainly will not be able to do until they fix the situation with KSP 1 on console. The lack of transparency kills any faith I might have in them. It sucks.

The 1.11 and 1.12 updates have been promised numerous times over the past year and a half (ish, a bit more). The teams made an announcement promising that BOTH would be released for consoles before the end of the year! Well, before the end of last year, I should say. Yep, their entire release window passed, no release no updates, AND NO COMMUNICATION. This situation continues to this day! There have been no public communications regarding the updates for over a year now, even though they promised them to be released by now! Private Division won't even answer with anything regarding this situation, over social media or even over their own channels of customer support! They won't even say if the updates are still coming or not. They have absolutley NO transparency whatsoever with their community! It is nothing other than a complete disregard for the consumers and fanbase. The situation is completly unacceptable. There are no other words. How long will this situation be allowed to continue? Will we still be asking what's going on in six months, next year, the year after that? How long will we be left in the dark? Communication is not optional.

Kerbal Space Program Enhanced Edition Grand Discussion thread
Turtlegirl1209 replied to UomoCapra's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Make that two months. How long will this situation go on? The complete and utter lack of transparency here is incredibly frustrating. This whole time, with my dozens of attempts at making contact, I've gotten exaclty one response (from Private Division customer support), saying they have no information and to wait for future announcements. It's been litterally a year since they said anything about the updates! A whole year! And, the worst part is that the release timeline they did announce was completely passed without so much as a delay announcement, litterally nothing! Do the KSP teams care about their commmunity at all? It's hugely disrespectful, and this kind of situation is NOT a good precedent to be setting for KSP 2!- 310 replies

Unfortunatly, that account hasn't been online since 2018 (though somehow they've made some posts since then? IDK, but still the most recent sign of life there was in 2021). Plus, the KSP console Enhanced Edition was made by BlitWorks and not directly by Squad. Of course, BlitWorks had their collaboration w/ PD terminated after 1.10 released, so who knows who''s actually on the project now. "we" is not very precise, so it could be squad or PD themselves. I may be wrong, but it seems like Squad is pretty dead. So basically, once again, we have no idea what on earth is going on. We don't have the first clue, unless I'm missing something major.

I mean, idk about that but I'm certainly not keen to buy KSP 2 until this is fixed. Private Division is setting a precedent with this situation. They're basically telling their fans that they as a company are completley fine with making announcments of content (that could influence a consumer's purchasing decision), and they're fine with doing this - and then quietly abandoning these projects with no word to the playerbase. I know PD isn't doing devellopment work on KSP 2 directly, but they are a parent company of intercept, so who knows how much control they have - if they have enouugh power to manifest this type of situation with KSP 2. We just don't know. Honestly, it sets a really dangerous precedent for the company, and it makes me really question the trust I have in PD to be able to ever promise a complete product. I'm reminded of that quote, "you cannot not communicate". It's obvious they're aware of the issue, they have been the whole time. By not fixing this situation, even when it's pointed out, they're essentially saying that this is a situation that they're OK with, and that's the really worrying part.

Happy birthday! It's been a year since this announcement was made and we still haven't gotten anything. No update, no delay announcement, no dev update, not so much as a follow-up to even acknowledge the project's existance. It's been a whole year since y'all made a promise you unfortunatly didn't or couldn't keep. This can still be fixed, very easily in fact. Y'all just have to make the decision to talk to us. Why wouldn't you?

It's been an entire year. This post is still the most recent public acknowledgement of the updates. A release timeline announcement for a project that seems to have just been forgotten about. Even with all this time that's gone by, we're still very much in the dark. What on kerbin is going on here? I mean, a whole year has passed, and nothing. It's been an entire year.
-
You may have thought that because well, it was supposed to be. That's what we were told. But, irregardless of that fact, it's not. Ksp on consoles, even on the new, powerful consoles, is still only on 1.10. The list of features we're missing is looong, but if you're interesed: But yeah, KSP on console very much needs these updates.

it is absolutly disgusting that this situation has been allowed to get this bad. We're approaching it being one year since the last time this studio brought up any information about the updates. "release before the end of the year", yet its april of the following year, and nothing. No mentions, no update, no new timeline, and no delay announcement. How on earth is this ok with anyone? How long will this be allowed to go on for? Will we still be asking whats going on in june, august, december? Next year? What's the limit here? Because, even now the company only says to wait more. I think we've waited plenty. We waited, and were rewarded with silence. It's repulsive. I will be contacting Private Division upper management. The people at the top of the company have emails, phone numbers, social medias. If they aren't aware of the problem, I will make sure they are made aware. I will put on display their unprofessionalism, until this problem is fixed. Imagine this: KSP 2 has a release date set for Feb 24, 2023. People are anxoisly waiting, excited. The day comes, they boot up their computers, and... nothing. Ok, maybe it's releaasing super late in the day or something. Time zones and whatnot. They go to bed, and the next day - still nothing. What's going on? They check social media, but there's no mention of the game anywhere. No one has the game, and the dev studio hasn't said anything. People get confused, maybe it got delayed? Days, weeks go by. Still no mention. The last word was that, yup, the game was supposed to come out on the 24th of February. It's early March now, yet theres no game, no delay announcement, nothing whatsoever. People contact customer support, they just say to wait for announcements. People wait and wait. Nothing. Months go by, soon a year. Still nothing. See what's going on? I'm not demanding the update itself, if its been cancelled, its been cancelled and thats life. However, abandoning your community as has been done is disgusting. Tell us what is going on.

We definitly deserve the updates. I purchased this game knowing that it was behind but with the understanding that devellopers had promised to update it with all the amazing features of modern PC versions. This was over a year ago. After all this time and the lack of communication, I decided to contact Private Division customer support to ask if the updates were still in devellopment, if they were still going to be updating console. I figured this was as simple as it gets - if the answer was yes, there would be zero reason whatsoever to not say that (considering that its already been confirmed). Unfortunatly, the answer was as follows. "Unfortunately, as much as we would like to ask your question, I'm afraid that we don't have any information concerning this matter. We can only ask for your patience to wait for further announcements from the team regarding KSP updates on the console (PS5)." The message was definitly nice and sympathetic, but still super disheartening. They won't so much as say if the updates even still exist. Super saddening, and even more dissapointing. I havent ever felt hopeless for console KSP like some other players, I've always had faith and trust in the devs. I can't be certain about that anymore. I wish someone would just tell us whats going on. There's zero transparency whatsoever here. Just tell us anything! I feel very mislead, and I think the whole KSP console community does as well.
