Recently I've started working on a comic book called Project: Minerva, which is a James Bond-esque story taking place during a time when humanity is trying to colonize Mars. The project itself is a multi-national effort between the United States, China, Russia, the European Union, and Japan, the big guys of space exploration (I would've added India but their flag is hard to draw). The bad guys, funded by big tech companies of the age, are trying to sabotage the program and turn it into a huge cash-grab, as well as use Mars as a supercomputer to data mine every human alive. So far, I've only gotten the first few pages done. I apologize my handwriting look like Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration

YEAR 3, DAY 97 - MUNMUN ROVER Driving on the Munmun with a carcar... While waiting between Kerman Station missions, Beyond has devised a very interesting new spacecraft, called a rover. Rovers are essentially space cars, and drive along the surface of a celestial body, discovering many new things about it over a large area. The Munmun rover, named after the Munmun probes that pioneered the Mun, has on it a brand new scientific instrument: a scanning arm. On it are lasers, drills, and laser drills that will cut through rock to discover what's underneath. Truly an amazing time for science. The rover will help to set a foundation for future crewed missions to the Mun, and will begin Kerbalkind's re-expansion into deep space. Once in orbit, the Munmun rover begins preparations for the TMI burn. TMI burn Munar braking burn. Once in Munar orbit, the transfer stage is separated, and the main lander containing the rover begins the landing procedure. The most crucial part of the mission has begun. The coast down is... actually quite peaceful. There were no issues like a cliff in the way or something like that. However, that was just the descent. You see, the suicide burn was screwed up, and we were coming down to the surface at and alarmingly fast rate. We could burn for most of the time, but we'd also be wasting fuel. Worth a shot, though. The landing is nerve wracking, and very close but... We make it! After landing, preparation is made to deploy the rover. The cargo bay is opened, exposing the rover to munar conditions. Picture shot from the lander's cargo bay. And after a short little hop off the bay, the rover feels the surface of the Mun! It's the first object on the Mun in 2 years! Immediately, the rover is sent out to begin scouting the area. After a short drive, it happens to come across a crater. The rover's put into position, and begins scanning for any clues about the history of the Mun and Kerbin. What's discovered is quite interesting, but not everything could be uncovered due to the scanning arm's size. The Munmun Rover heads off into the distance, to begin its long mission on the Mun. -

Marvel movies are unfunny and are all the same movie. -
I have to think about saying Moon rather than saying Mun.

YEAR 3, DAY 76 - 'FATE' LABORATORY MODULE I'm back baybee! After a public pole was announced to pick Kerman Station's next module, the laboratory module won by a landslide! Fate, as it's called (no relation to Destiny) is an advanced zero gravity lab module, containing a small plant station and even a centrifuge to experiment with artificial gravity! Truly exciting times for science! The Eve II Rocket will obviously be flying it, but only because it's the most powerful launch vehicle in our arsenal (at least until the RBS is complete and shipped). Covering other news before the launch, the launch of Journeyer 2 has been postponed indefinitely. The Eve II or RBS was going to be used for the flight, but nothing's powerful enough to lift a probe that heavy. It may be a while till exploration of Moho resumes. Wait, where were we? Right, space station stuff. Liftoff! Orbital insertion burn The module enters orbit! Solar panels are deployed, and the module is put through all the normal rendezvous stuff. Really, all the tedious stuff. And just like that, the module is attached! The station gets more room, and symmetry! Beautiful symmetry! The crew settle, and get to work starting up these brand new science experiments. -

9/10 You have many great achievements under your belt, but the historic probes badge should be smaller. The whole thing doesn't fit in the signature. -
Small issue...

Who’s the Oldest Active Forum Member?
Kerbalsaurus replied to Kerbalsaurus's topic in Kerbal Network
Wow, you might have found the oldest active member. I'm still looking, but I think that's it. -
We all know who the oldest forum member is @HarvesteR because he, well, made it. But he’s long since been inactive. I think it might be @Vanamonde, as they appear on the oldest insert on The Wayback Machine, under a welcome aboard post. But if you find someone older, or if you yourself are older, well, let us know.

Beyond: Kerbalkind's History of Space Exploration
Kerbalsaurus replied to Kerbalsaurus's topic in KSP1 Mission Reports
Beyond would like to thank Jeb's Junkyard for their response on the Libra 2 incident. We're glad that no matter what, the crew would survive a water landing due to the design of the frame. We would also like to apologize for calling it a "death trap". The brand new re-design of the Libra Orbit will hopefully make it a much safer spacecraft to fly in. Also, we're quite excited to fly this Mk. 2 spaceplane... -

Year 3, Day }̵̛̻̓̈́́͐̉{̵̢̲͙͉̹̻͔̿͆̉̃́̎͌\̵̗͙̖͆́͒͐͋̏͛̐̚͠\̷̰̗̙̽̀̈̽͌̀̑͆|̶͕̩̲͛̄̂ͅ - THE SECRET SPACE STATION We're setting up an orbital outpost to observe our Mun probe, and be a little bit more thorough in finding this anomaly. We don't want any nosy radio enthusiasts to find out what we're up to. It will be multi modular, but not so big it can be seen with the naked eye. The rocket launching it is painted dark, so no one will see it when it flies across the desert. The latest development of the secret space program begins. I managed to snap this picture from the runway The space station is completed, and observation of the Mun begins. By the way, are ever gonna get back to figuring out what "NASA" is? -

YEAR 3, DAY 52 - EXPEDITION 2 Crew: Valentina, Virsen, Wensy As Expedition 1 reaches halfway through it's mission, Expedition 2 is readied for launch. While the commercial crew program may be on hold while the Libra 2 incident is investigated (that thing may be a death trap), Kerman Station's crew launch program will continue. It's already built on proven technology, so why stop it. This launch will in fact be the first launch of the brand new Eve II rocket, the latest development in the Universal Launch Vehicle Project (ULVP). The Eve II is capable of about 11 tons to LKO, which is quite impressive for a launch vehicle of it's size. Outfitted with the signature orange tanks, the Eve II will certainly become a work horse for Beyond. Liftoff! LES sep After Expedition 2 enters orbit, the regular process begins to rendezvous with the station. Changing the orbital plane, and burning for the target. After a short while, Expedition 2 arrives at Kerman Station. Docked! The crew enter, and say their hellos to Jeb, Bob, and Bill. For the first time ever, Beyond's first Kerbonauts are all in space together. Jebediah, Bob, Bill, Valentina, and Virsen all celebrate this occasion. It only seems like yesterday that they first went to space! Really, it wasn't all that long ago, but still. Virsen goes for her EVA Expedition 2 settles in for their long stay aboard Kerman Station. As cramped as a six Kerballed space station seems now, they can all look forward to a new laboratory coming. This will definitely give them more "wiggle room" as the kids say. -

L00NTECH PARTNERSHIP - YEAR 3, DAY 31 Beyond is happy to announce another partner has joined the quest to bring space down to Kerbin: L00ntech Incorporated! L00ntech Inc. has presented us with a reusable booster called the Reusable Booster System (RBS) capable of carying 18 tonnes to LKO! Quite impressive. We look forward to all of the launches to come with the RBS, and we hope our partnership with L00ntech Inc. continues for years to come. X -

Literally on every corner of Forum Games. -
Geonovast became afraid. He expected the safety inspector to appear before dark, as the team thought that massive boosters might counter the lack of struts on Kerbin. The mission would gradually devolve into reaction wheels, something literally revolutionary to Kerbalkind. How extraordinary that is, considering the effort required to make big ol' pitch forks and feather dusters with large torches, and wiggly tentacles playing the piano for fun. Exactly one week later, the inspector woke to find a great disturbance in the force - a PowerPoint presentation. The horror of it overcame him with great quantum superlinearecitation. A Massive vortex opened to reveal a terrifying cake-producing monster. The inspector immediately panicked and reached for his pogo-stick, deftly bouncing off the bed that he was floating on down the Nile and into the grasp of Curveball-Anders who spontaneously barfed. Rutabaga, meanwhile, emerged in the river of dreams. Snark saw Kerbiloid and thought, is that Adsii? What strange and bizarre manifestations appear when Aerodynamic Kerbal suffers from a ColdJ virus. Deddly, Vanamonde and TakeTwo ninja'd the cake as Admiral-Fluffy forlornly tried to soak a stolen dry bagel in lox. The cake-producing monster began slithering towards the first person to run a bakery in the best area of Dakota. Competition wasn't anything the monster felt like wasting time on. However, the mountain of cake was devoured by the kraken, leaving a steaming pile of useless debris. Boris (the monster) started a clearance war while Adsii cleaned his plate with an explosion of flavour that could've potentially rivaled the famed Tibetan chocolate croissant. Meanwhile 18watt, Nazalassa and Starhawk were hatching a plan to take over Minmus with an icecream van. Scoops of Minmuscream were flung in every possible direction, while Vanamonde insisted on waffle-cone diplomacy complete with toppings and spoons. The outcome of the event was uncertain; the icecream was completely consumed by Gargamel and the cones became crushed from lack of enthusiasm by the moderators. The inspector later wrote a scathing report; despite having no memory of previous events, it was imaginative and entertaining in its depiction of strange hallucinations and bizarre potatoes. He was deliberately throwing doubt across the entire Kerbol system as to what had happened, so more inspectors arrived to grab a bunch of managers to remove the sting of the report. However, before they were ready for publishing, the Kraken released a piece of artwork based on macaroni cheese to surpass the wiggly tentacles playing the piano for fun. This caused a hyperbolic frenzy in publishing the report, resulting in an outrage against its writers, who then asked, "Where are the snacks?" Boris suddenly saw an opportunity to sell copious amounts of Snacks. Hot cupcakes sold like hotcakes and cold cake sold like cold cream cups (which are good for puffy eyes). But something unexpected did occur: the inspector shared his lunch and threw a party for everyone, although Geonovast excluded Gargamel. Curveball-Anders took everyone to the local ice cream-pizza-pinball-chicken-applesauce-candy-methalox-whole_pineapple-drywall parlour and asked for some funds from the waiter, who choked on the pinball release-lever, tilting the machine over. "Funds!" he exclaimed flabbergastedly," you want my FUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!" "HOW DARE YOU EVEN SUGGEST SUCH A THING!" "WHY I OUGHTA..." the waiter fumed indignantly as he gasped for air, collapsing while clutching his ukulele. "Oh crud," he wheezed into a squeezebox, which inflated to the size of a prize-winning pumpkin. "A prize", said Starhawk, "is worth funds." Tiredly, the waiter raised a kickstarter campaign to capture the wiggly tentacles playing the piano for fun, and a plan was beginning to form in his mind. He imagined a B.O.B (Battle of the Bands) in which Jeb, for marketing purposes, screamed an Electric-Guitar intro of "Let's go Crazy". The monster, however, preferred jazz piano, and tried to eat them, but a rogue hard disk formatted the simulated soft-serve ice-cream, instantly replacing people with other ice-cream-flavoured people, that tasted like Minmus. "Yuck" said the Imposter, "this paragraph is getting way too long (paraphrased into a paradox, maybe we should go back in time), why not stop it right now?" However, by traveling back before it starts back then, Nazalassa made a discovery about the wiggly tentacles that play the piano for fun, that shocked the entire Kerbal literary audience. Sentence building is mandatory practice for someone who wants fun to do karate that is cursed because

YEAR 3, DAY 29 - LIBRA 2 I think you missed... Crew: Lebro, Maugan, Janby The sun rises over Cape Kerman as the Libra Orbit is rolled out to the runway. All of Kerbin watches for this historic flight. The first crewed orbital flight of a spaceplane. The mission is quite simple. We go into orbit, and stay there for one day. Afterwords, it will return back to the KSC and be recovered for another mission. Simple. Now, our engineers have done something pretty amazing for the spacecraft. As Jeb's Junkyard has warned us many a time, the nose cone overheats on re-entry. So what we did was add a sort of "heatshield" to the nose cone. Decals on the front would take the blunt of the heat, preventing the nose cone from exploding. Pretty clever, eh? Lebro communicates to and from the flight tower, and Libra 2 is given the all go for take off. The mighty panther engines fire up, and Libra 2 is off! Mach 1 achieved. At about 21km, the atmosphere is to thin for the panthers to continue burning. The panthers flame out, and are ejected. It's up to the terriers from here. Libra 2 climbs and climbs. Apoapsis reaches 100km, and the terriers are cut momentarily. Now comes the most critical part of the flight. Libra 2 will either make it to orbit, where the crew are most likely to survive, or it fails. This would not be good. If Libra 2 has to ditch, there's a good chance the crew may die upon landing. Flight tower holds theor breath as Libra 2 begins this crucial burn. Libra 2 makes it! Flight Control erupts into celebration! They have a crewed spaceplane in orbit! Lebro snaps this view of Kerbin. Libra 2 begins its stay in orbit, and the crew just kinda hang in the mean time. A linear fuselage allows them to bounce from end to end on board the spacecraft. Since an EVA can't happen in this spacecraft, as it requires depressurizing the entire spacecraft, this more than compensates for that. All to soon though, the crew have to come home. Libra 2 points itself backwards, and prepares for re-entry. Here's where things get interesting. Re-entry goes as normal. The crew head down, and flames burn around the craft. But then crew look down, and their shocked to see what happened. They missed the KSC! Libra 2 was on an impact course straight towards the ocean! The crew start to enter panic mode. The Libra Orbit isn't designed to survive ocean landings! THey'd die for sure. But Lebro concentrated herself. She took manual control of the spaceplane, and begins descent. Velocity is lost fast, and the plane becomes mre dificult to control But Lebro continues to concentrate. "Within 500 meters, struggling with control. Everybody brace yourselves!" -Lebro Kerman Splash! The crew open their eyes, expecting to see the Kracken himself. But instead. It's a control panel. And a window. And the ocean! They're alive! However, as you can see, there is one issue. The rest of the spaceplane is gone. The public starts to go crazy. Agency director, Sauru S. Kerman (nicknamed Kerbalsaurus) is asked for a statement. Should the Libra Program be canceled? Kerbalsaurus said "While the spacecraft main hull may have been destroyed, the crew survived. And as was said about the Terror Bird flight 2 years ago, any landing you can walk away from is a good one." While this has mostly silenced public fears, Kerbin is still pressing @fulgur Kerman for their statement on this event. -
It's available in both, but I wouldn't suggest launching a rocket with it on. You can't use qewasd to move around the spacecraft. Action groups can help. Maybe set it to something like AG5 to "Toggle Hibernation". Press it in flight when your transit begins, and once you're about 3 minutes out from your maneuver burn into Munar Orbit, turn it off again. Simple as that.

Huygens 1: Preform the first flyby of Mars. Mission: FAILURE! 7/19/66 Spacecraft: Huygens Probe Bus, Daedalus II Rocket, Siren-C2 upper stage, Huygens transfer stage. Yes, the day had come. Humanity was finally going to leave their little home planet and go beyond! The brand new Daedalus II lifts off from the CSC, high into the sky! The Siren-C3 puts Huygens 1 successfully into LEO. Computers reported an issue with antenna deployment, but Mission Control was going to try their chances. The Huygens Transfer Stage (HTS) puts Huygens 1 on a flyby course to Mars. However, at about the distance of the Moon, communications is lost with the probe. While it will still most likely flyby Mars, it will not return any data. Thus, the mission is deemed a failure. Maybe we have a backup in storage…
