There are designs out there that account for deceleration, such as this one by Robert L. Forward: deceleration could also be achieved via mag sail which would only need an internal power source like a nuclear reactor. -
I can't grab onto the hatch or ladders nor can I board my ship, the prompt to grab and board do show up but pressing F or B does nothing. I guess Bill gets to enjoy the Mun a little longer lol.

Did a Mun flyby, made some rovers, and flew some planes. gonna try and get to Duna tomorrow.

Early access will be a PC exclusive as far as I know. Console editions will come after 1.0 and probably only for current gen of consoles.

Assuming my PC is up to the task I really want to try making some nice stations/fuel depots in LKO and munar orbit, then I'll probably build a couple spaceplanes and some nuclear electric probes.

I was debating making a post about this topic earlier, I really hope they didn’t decide to cut radiation effects during that later phase of development because that was one of the new features I’m most excited for. Although they may just be holding it back for when they implement the more energetic engines.

for me it’s probably going to be some combination of either orange and white/bare metal or teal and white/bare metal. Maybe I could use one color scheme for ships and one for colonies. -

I really want to make a network of colonies and stations similar to what is outlined in Gerard K. O’Neill’s book the high frontier. Mining the mun to supply orbital shipyards and stations. That along with asteroid mining stations and a station in one of glumo’s shepherd moons(skute I think?), I honestly just love the idea of sticking with asteroids and low gravity worlds as a colonization strategy. As for ships I’d love to make a replica of Michael from the book Footfall, the X-30/X-33 SSTO, The ROMBUS SSTO(or any of Philip Bono’s designs) and the Valkyrie interstellar ship concept which was the inspiration for the ISV from Avatar but I’ll probably just wind up making a replica of the movie version lol. -
Rings aren’t the only thing of note in that shot, look at the back end of the ship, I think this is the first time we’ve seen ship-scale nuclear reactors!

Are the engines configured to work with waterfall plume effects and if not are there any plans to implement that?

Honestly I'd love to see large aerospikes and especially plug nozzles like what was proposed for the ROMBUS and phoenix SSTOs, the would be great for automated heavy lift as the engine doubles as a heatshield allowing for easy reuse.
