nice, the 3060 is a very good graphics card however I would recommend the 6700xt from AMD instead as it costs similar but you get a little more performance. The most important part of a pc is probably the graphics card and CPU combined - If you look at the KSP2 recommended your current graphics card is below recommended but your CPU is above recommended I would recommend something more akin to this, where more money is spent on GPU than it is on CPU https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FmQsd9

Ok, that's good but not $1000 good lol With your mouse and keyboard you can spend $30 to $300 if you wanted - its purely a matter of preference As for a monitor its a similar story - do you know what resolution or refresh rate it is? don't worry about that particular warning about BIOS, it's an easy (free) fix irl also don't just buy my list - I'm by no means an expert. Make sure you take the time to research and understand what you're paying for

looks very nice however I will say that you are very much overspending. I very quickly threw together a rough list for you, and the total is not near $2000 at all. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/NTmHPX Whilst I have no doubt that this could run KSP2, I don't think its worth $2000 at all. Coming as someone who built their pc themselves, I obviously recommend building a pc yourself however its certainly a daunting task, and there are plenty of other prebuilt pcs with much better value than that. You don't need to spend $2000 either, a $1000 will run KSP 2 fine. So I'd urge you to watch a few beginner tutorials and give it some thought. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZNyTGL (What I would spend $2000 on) I know these are just numbers on a page because they were for me, but this build has the world's fastest CPU and the world's second fastest GPU, so you can see how bad value that prebuilt was.

[1.12.x] Parallax - PBR Terrain and Surface Objects [2.0.8]

Anyone know how to change settings to high/ultra instead of low? Is it in the config, ingame menu, or mod menu? Thanks- 3,126 replies

Thanks everyone! I've been actually been playing KSP for a while, but let's just say a ps4 is a very different experience. After ps4, I played on a laptop that would lag to 30 fps at 50 parts. I've only just bought my first gaming pc, and as you can imagine, its like playing a new game. I was already used to modding my game on the laptop (which is probably why it ran so badly), I was more asking about creating mods.

Can I give you some part mod recommendations? With part mods I go by the terrible rule of thumb that anything 1.10 or younger is fine. Just remember for any other mods, you'll want to make sure its 1.12.x First of all is ReStock - this makes all the stock parts look amazing without changing any gameplay. Top recommendation. ReStock+ - this adds loads of parts you didn't know you needed. Also, if you don't have the making history dlc, it give you all of its parts in a restockalike style. Near Future Technologies - loads of parts - if you're overwhelmed, I'd recommend near future electrical then spacecraft and propulsion. Stockalike Station Parts Expansion (SSPX) - more of a restockalike mod to me, but one that will add a plethora of parts for space stations, with full career mode integration. Planetside Exploration Technologies - a very nice mod for your surface bases, in a restockalike style. Like the ground version of sspx. Kerbal Planetary Base Systems (KPBS) - another mod for surafce bases, but in a stockalike style (pairs well without ReStock) but still works without. Full career mode integration. Feline Utility Rovers - the go to rover mod in a stockalike art style similar to KPBS Hope this helps!

As the title says, I would like to learn more about modding ksp. I have very little prior experience (except for a bit of python) so I was wondering if there is like a starter guide, or something of the sorts that could point me in the right direction. Thanks

[1.12.x] Parallax - PBR Terrain and Surface Objects [2.0.8]
emord-nillap replied to Gameslinx's topic in KSP1 Mod Releases
Hi there, just upgraded to my first gaming pc. Naturally I did the first thing you'd expect and installed parallax/scattera/EVE/spectra, but it has persistently opened in "low" settings. I'm using a 1080 (non ti), so I think I would be able to run settings on high/ultra. How do I change the settings?- 3,126 replies

Thanks Can I ask for near future and FUR next?

I was wondering if there is a priority to mod supports? Or is it first come first served?

Going from suborbital to ssto - Only in KSP -
Feels like a slippery slope - but an interesting one nonetheless Near Future Construction and Launch Vehicles has dedicated structural variants of certain parts that are fuel less. Could work similarly.
