  1. Be honest and just come out with it... This isn't an EA in any sense of the phrase. Fast iteration, quick and regular updates, hotfixes and (the most kerbal of all) not being afraid to fail... I don't see much more than "Look at the shiney, shiney" and the usual suspects of "Soon", "We can't wait to show you" and "We don't have an exact date yet" Nice... Real damned nice.
  2. And, all of this loops us round to the actual question... What happened to increased communication? It's obvious that passion on both sides ( consumer & developer) has faded to a great degree, the forums are just reciprocal arguments about things being said since day 1... Discord is barely KSP2 related anymore and is just general space chat, kapybaras or the same looking craft, over and over again. For Science obviously hasn't lit the fires for the masses, if it did then it certainly hasn't shown any kind of longevity or purpose at this stage. Then we had colonies hailed as the thing that will bring the game into real focus, though, with the caveat of resources being the actual key to it all so not to expect anything until that drops... Which comes after interstellar. At the current update cadence we find ourselves with, I'm honestly not seeing how we get to it seeing as it is barely running (in my opinion, of course) with what we have available now. I'm not sure what news to expect on Friday but I honestly don't think it's going to be directly game related, with the amount of time between actual news and the recent layoff speculation, I think there will be news in relation to that and further reduction in the development cycle. I'm of the opinion that they had the heads up a few months back and thats when the studio went on their break and came back to weeks of 'sprint planning' with a great plan to engage the community (according to dakotas list of work they had been doing) that they, once again, failed to follow through on... Then it was a "tidying up the calendar" issue... It just reeks of a deeper issue going on behind the scenes. We will find out tomorrow regardless... Again, I hope I am wrong and that real work amd improvement have been made beind the scenes that we will all be genuinely pleased by and will propel the game forward... Past track record would disagree with this though imo.
  3. Certainly the best outcome... Well done for making the right call.
  4. This post is filler at best... Dakota had seen them, replied to them... Yet you saw an issue? Crazy that you even deleted their posts too. Thank you for your understanding,
  5. All that sprint planning... All that 'community work' that was going on behind the scenes... What was it for? The seem to do so much prep work but when it comes time to release, it's "duck into the shodows for more prep work" time. The whole debacle stinks... I couldn't imagine a more poorly implemented EA process, amaturish at the absolute best! One mod had it covered and if they can't even agree between themselves what is fair to post, what on earth is the point in this process? Every discussion is derailed, moved or simply shut down unless it's high praise lately... All the community and moderation team available and the thing they do the most is delete discussions. Meh. If you want an EA then treat it like one, if you don't... Then call it a full release and give us the upcoming parts as free updates... Put an end to this charade of incomptence.
  6. What A Letdown A genuine embarrassment if I'm to be honest... Can't we just get the version you were all playing before release, the one you said you "couldn't put down"? At this point it seems like Intercept as a whole is almost scared of the fandom and does everything possible to avoid any interactions and take any critisism like you've stormed into their houses on xmas day and stole all their toys. It boggles the mind. This, to me, is not how an EA should be... Where's the quick iteration, the engagement and updating of the community? What exactly about this release, apart from the state of the game, can be considered at true early access title? You've done everything possible at this point to restrict information given, from posts like this, cutting K.E.R.B, bug tracker etc... It's apparent that you don't want to listen to the community because everytime there is outcry, you just restrict access to information even further. Even the discord is a wasteland, same old posts about kapybaras and 1000's of pictures of craft that look exactly the damned same... And a community manager 24/7 on do not disturb. Maybe it's time to get an adult at the helm to wrangle the nonsense into check because the way this release is being handled, in my opinion, is beyond shocking. I worked in QA compatabilty for one of the big 2 console companies for nearly 12 years, I can honestly say we NEVER recieved anythig close to approching the mess that this game finds itself in, there seems to be an incredible lack of talent in the building. Even this post as an example... If your aim is to engage new players and "dumb" down some of the mechanics then why the heck are we being presented deep mathmatical equations as news? I mean, really... What does this possibly mean to somebody (including me) who is picking up KSP2 for the first time?
  7. There aren't many aspects of ksp2 that I think it does better than the original imo... It's not even like I can put my finger on it and tell you exactly what it is about the game that makes me not want to play it, there's just nothing about the game that currently makes me want to open it. It feels hollow and devoid of actual fun, maybe I've played ksp1 for far too long but I'm still playing that so I don't know how else to take it. Everything just feels like a simplified version of what we've already got. Visuals - I'd expect it to look better than the original, over 10 year old game... With mods you can get pretty damned close. LoD on celestial objects - See above point. Science system - It's terrible. The variety of parts is what made craft unique, tailored specific parts for tailored specific mission proifles you wanted to achieve... What we have currently is watered down button pressing at best and has zero longevity beyond initial missions imo. Tech tree - What about it? It's a tree you unlock to gain parts and I fail to see what ksp2 does that ksp1 didn't. Maneuver system - Simply inferior to the original in it's current form, nowhere near as useful. Procedural parts - A whole host more of them available in ksp1. Parts List - Equally as underwhelming in stock form as the game made over 10 years previous is. Resources - Extra resources are great but, again, mods more than bring parity between the two games. Interface layout - I never had an issue with the ksp1 layout or menu system as a whole, I like whaere they're aiming with ksp2 but it's too inconsistent and hard to read in parts to be considered 'better' imo. Loading times - Both stock versions of the game load at the same speed for me. Assembly system - Trying to fix what wasn't broken. It needed an update but, again, what we have now can in no way be considered superior to me. Audio - Mods bring parity but ksp2 nudges this one. Music - Nothing will ever beat the ksp theme to me but I give ksp2 the nod for giving us more. New Players - A vital step to prolonging the life of any franchise... Shame it has come at the cost of enjoyability for a selection of loyal fans of the game. Just my opinion anyway.
  8. Beyond a joke really... I've never known a company to spend 2 whole weeks on 'sprint planning', it's 4 hour meeting once or twice month at most. Is there anybody competent at the helm? I have again ducked out of the game due to science being less than anticipated, the behind the scenes 'efforts' just extend my need to continue doing so. I'm happy that *some* people are enjoying the game but this fiasco is far beyond what I want or expect from a game... Especially a game whos predecessor kept me hooked for the best part of 10 years. I'm not sure who's letting me down more right now, this continued mess or the similar one over at CS:2... Both seem tone deaf to what the fanbase wants, both charged full price for what is a bare bones experience and both utterly unable to interact with their communities in any honest way. Devs with sketchy track records being the face of the game, community managers doing anything but their job title... Not to mention that the whole studio seems to have more breaks than a kit-kat. One heck of a first year for the game... It can only get better because it doesn't get any lower than rock bottom.
  9. Not in any of the runs I tested but I didn't wait much longer than 30-40 seconds until reverting to VAB. The craft is shown as flying off in map view but the telemetry from the instruments and orbital lines show me as still in orbit.
  10. What's with the new orbital bugs? I can't get a single craft into orbit, even stock ones... It has been reported in the forum by me and at least one other user. Fresh install, fresh save... Unable to get to orbit at all... Every time, craft vanishes and I get pinged into the wider galaxy all while my instruments think I'm in orbit but the map shows me yeeting off. Infuriating.
  11. Reported Version: v0.2.0 (latest) | Mods: none | Can replicate without mods? Yes OS: Windows 11 | CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X | GPU: RTX 2060 | RAM: 32 Craft gets yeeted out of orbit under warp. Repeatable bug with differing crafts, once orbit is reached but not circularised. Included Attachments: Untitled.mp4
  12. My thoughts are that they didn't test this nearly enough... You can't even warp without getting yeeted out of whatever orbit you were in.
  13. I've been saying this for MONTHS at this point... Until you start showing some progress, rather than talking about how your preparing to fix something that you considered at feature just a few short months ago, it's all just words... Yet again. It's time to put up or shut up... And, to be perfectly honest, you're going to need to pull something pretty spectacular out of that hat to win the majority of folks back around. I hope you can do it but I have zero belief that you will, time will tell. One question for the devs though... Where/are all these same bugs experienced since release present in the internal builds that you were playing and how do they translate across the branches you currently have in development?
  14. Already confirmed by Dakota on here and Discord that the next patch is bugfixes only... No new parts, features or reasons to get excited apparently.
