Sounds amazing. My clouds are only really a partial solution The only reason I didn't do that is because for some reason I kind of like that look (though it is unrealistic). Now I haven't tried changing the bumpmaps, but I assume that if you just put a blank image (probably with the same height - width ratio) in the Eve folder and named it Eve2.PNG it should remove the bumpmap.
-
I wouldn't say I don't want it, but I think it should be low on the priorities list. Also, do you think you could add my planet textures to the OP?
-
Cloud Pack Download SD version (2048 x 1024) The clouds are only visible from above roughly 80km and are not visible while on the ground.
-
Laythe Duna Eve That was much faster than Kerbin. I think I just made a dumb mistake when I made it which made it take much longer. I'll release this (or not) as soon as I learn whether or not it's legal.
-
I did it. I finally did it. I got the textures to line up with the bumpmap! Unfortunately, I forgot to save a version without clouds and I can't find the source image I used either! Ach. Anyway, here's the download. It also includes green Jupiter Jool. Both of them are quite high-res but I could make some lower ones if I need too. http://www./download/6tcaebbj6a47dyi/Planets.zip Now I just need to figure out taking textures from the game so I can do all those other planets too! Or is that against the EULA...? So for everyone wondering, clouds can be seen from space but are not baked into the terrain. Once you get to a certain altitude the textures revert to their default look.
-
I'm making my own. I'm almost done with Kerbin and I'll release it. Heck I'll even throw in a version without clouds for other people to edit. Once I rip out Eve, Duna, and Laythe I'll add clouds to them as well.
-
Personally, I like my Jool green I also got a half-decent Kerbin with clouds going. Unfortunately, on closer inspection it's painfully low resolution, doesn't line up correctly, and the clouds don't tessellate properly.
-
Thanks, but yeah. Where do I get the base textures?
-
I've been looking around at various cloud maps, and how would I go about adding one of those black and white images to the texture of a planet? I've found textures I would like to use for Kerbin, Duna, Eve, and Laythe.

I just noticed that the fairings don't actually work with FAR. At least, not all of them. It should be a simple enough matter of adding the word "fairing" to all of the part names and hoping it works, but I just thought I should let you know. -
But wouldn't they break apart during warp? Also, what is the Delta-V of that monster?

[1.3] Starshine Industries: Extendable Nozzle

Those stock-alikes are very nice. Personally I would like to see some more solar panels, rover wheels, and some more high-efficiency engines. I'm not sure what engines exactly (I'm sure Project Rho has something), but I'd like some interplanetary rockets that use something other than a NERVA for once Edit - Oooh... maybe some landing airbags! -
Has anyone ever made a saturn V like rocket with vanilla parts?

I don't think you can get much better than this one. http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/showthread.php/28073-Now-100-more-X-in-its-name!-Munbug-IX-Saturn-V-Apollo-CSM-Lander-Buggy-ALSEP Though it does use a lot of parts unfortunately. -
That doesn't mean it's not impressive. Granted, it would be more impressive if it was all stock, but it's still amazing.
-
Oh god. I wish Minimus looked like that.

Well, you could have my Mun landing rocket thing if you wish. The lander could use some improvements and I'll have to remove the Kerbal Engineer and an RLA mini-RTG, but it's pretty good. The lander can kind of be seen off in the distance. It's the only picture I have, sorry. Heck, I think I'll just replace the lander with the thor or odin or whatever it's called lander. -
Whenever I think of the F-104, I always think of RCAF, so seeing those american flags just seems out of place to me. Even though it isn't really. But that's just me. Nice plane anyway.

I scaled mine down quite a while ago. It would be easy enough to edit the config to add multiple sizes.

At least the capsule didn't hit the rocket after ejecting like it normally does. Half of the time everyone dies because the parachute explodes because of it. -
High and low tide?

I don't think it would really add anything. I don't think most SHIP simulators have this. -

Good idea. I never thought of that. -

I think the main issue is that I was decoupling all of the fairing sections at once so they just disassembled. If I just decouple the bottom one then they float off in nice sheets. But now the problem remains that there is almost no separation force to the fairings. They just don't peel away nicely. Can this be increased? And yeah I know about procedural fairings, but I'm just waiting for a thinner piece for interstages.
