It does sound like an achievements system though, complete with wall of achievers that is synchronized from a central source. Actual multiplayer has been achieved as well through the use of the KMP plugin, I had a party on the mun with some of the moderators not long ago using it. It would be interesting to see as a much-later feature, perhaps one added close to release or shortly after. Right now there are issues related to the overall gameplay that need to be addressed. Also a reminder to people- please refrain from backseat moderation. Threads like this are checked regularly by the moderating team. Posts like those quoted do not contribute to the topic, and are completely unnecessary.

3/10 I've seen you around a few times. But this is turning into a chat thread, which is concerning because chat threads are forbidden. I'll be locking it now since it has gone unchecked for so long, if people wish to continue playing this game please make a new thread for it with its own set of game rules and make sure they are followed.

Could you post screenshots of your vessel when this is happening? I'm not certain what pink light you refer to.

Use screen with it on a Linux server, screen mono KMPServer.exe This will keep it running without a terminal connected while still letting you access its stdio for troubleshooting. My public server is up as well now: publickmp1.kerbalspace.net:2076, stats at http://publickmp1.kerbalspace.net:55000 So far people I've been playing with on this server and my private server as well have managed dockings, mun landings, and at least one surface docking as well. Fun fact- this is the first time that I've landed on full manual without damaging the ship: http://i.imgur.com/2dCTmGx.png

This doesn't match what I have going, with as many as 5 people on a Xen VPS the CPU load was a mere 0.08 typical, barely higher than that server's idle parameters. I'll be putting it to the test shortly opening up a public server to see how many people I can get on it without locking it up.

Also I have good results on Debian 6, but so far CentOS is a no-go. I'm still working on getting it to work in CentOS.

figured out what my problem was. This has to have both TCP and UDP ports open to work. If you forget the UDP, it will connect but be unable to save vessels or synchronize. Fixing the firewall has enabled several moderators to begin building a space station.

Also worth noting- if you change the http port to one that is above 1024, it might not be necessary to run this as root. You should NEVER run anything as root unless it is important.
