For large and complex rockets, I tend to have two ways to escape in case I need to abort the launch after I jettisoned the LES. Normal LES: Retro-engines / Secondary Abort System:
Actually my Proton crashed because for some reason, the staging for one of the 12 engines (the leftmost on in the picture) in the first stage was placed in the last stage and the rocket veered off course at liftoff.
