  1. Yeah that was C7. One of the engines had the thrust tweaked to balance it. Try it out in the VAB... with the Center of Thrust marker shown.
  2. Have not had a chance to get my mitts on .23 yet. However I noticed that the platform you have matters a lot with this game... Probably more a Unity thing though. What platform are you guys on? Win, Unix, Mac, .. Intel, AMD?
  3. Yes - logically a single ship. However information about the docked crafts is still stored, including the name and root part id. Take a look in your persist.sfs... here is an example from mine... DOCKEDVESSEL { vesselName = Cobra vesselType = 5 rootUId = 687906975 } Yes - as I said. It only happens when you have multiple docked crafts. I have never seen bending on singular spawned vessel.
  4. Guessing i'm alone here thinking that the saddest part of this announcement is not the No Mining Mo Stuff, but the following...
  5. GMT +10 here. I win! Oh wait. I would kerb my enthusiasm for 0.23 but it's not tweakable yet.

    Porkahontas

I'm thinking the Porkahontus may have the crew of Epic Mealtime in her sights.
  7. Basically this. They won because they got their act together with NASA, and a huge publicly funded budget. The irony is that, as the Russians would joke, they won it the Soviet way. By comparison, the Soviet space program became more splintered as time went on.
  8. How crude. I'm going to build my own hunter-attack quadcopter and get me some free pizza.
  9. My kOS K-Prize run was done as a personal challenge before I know of this Challenge. I may give a legit run again sometime, mebe even kick it up a notch and trying a VTOL landing instead of a glide. (i started working on a hover algorithm a while ago but lost interest) In any case - I know the K-prize Challenge has a Gatecrashers list. No reason you can't have your own.
  10. Do you mean hands free and SAS free?. Or simply to just do controlled unpowered landings (that can even be done with kOS). If it's just unpowered landings then you just need plenty of lift for the mass of the craft. For hands free it simply needs to be well designed, with CoL and CoM together, then add some trim to pitch up.
  11. I think that is only because the reaction wheels are on different crafts attached by docking ports. Although the station is logically one craft, it is still seperate docked crafts in other ways. You can see this in the persist.sfs... and how docked crafts retain names when undocked etc. I'm pretty sure it does not matter. The (total) torque is still applied at the CoM, wherever that is.
  12. Stunts? Like Aerial Acrobatics? Or Jackass re-enactments? Or mebe just crashes?
  13. I agree with you. However when we do get money and performance tuning, then proper physics (PhysX) may be made to run on detached parts of your currently focused vessel until they land/crash.
  14. I didn't find the stream that confusing. Basically the Lab allows you to pre-process the data for extra science yield when you transmit it. Furthermore, diminishing returns is pretty much gone. There is also science that cannot be accessed unless you bring the data home to Kerbin.
  15. A little video I put together of parking at Kerbtown. It's on Skydrive. Clicky pic below to play. (whole vid is in x2 speed)
  16. This was covered pretty well in a KerbalKon stream... http://www.twitch.tv/ksptv/b/487009621
  17. Again, awesome work. Oh, and *finally* an SSTO Spaceplane with a turbojet no less! Do you have any way of refilling it with fuel and oxidiser on the surface?
  18. Perhaps the game should come with a health warning!
  19. Yup, probably Kerbin. Personally i'm trying to explorer it a little more... http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/24533-Show-off-your-awesome-KSP-pictures%21?p=842897&viewfull=1#post842897
  20. I have used this style as well. It is a neat landing solution.
  21. Doh - sorry. Should read more carefully. My craft is 63 parts. Will be interesting to see if anyone else glide lands like I did without using SAS.
  22. Yup, and MechJeb too (though i did not use it obviously). I actually copy-hacked the MJ part to have both MJ and kOS functionality actually, which is pretty neat. Well the program flew the whole mission. You can find it here. Note that the program is specific to the craft, but the algorithms can be tweaked and adapted to another SSTO Spaceplane.
  23. I filled in the survey. Like others, I see the benefit and dangers. Main problem is that it seems to be a free-for-all where money talks, and things like community and environment concerns are out the window. In the USA they managed to get exempt from the Clean Water Act!
