  1. No, I refuse to search. I want it handed to me on a silver platter. (Seriously: I hadn't heard of this one. Thank you.) Thanks. I'll have to give it a try.
  2. That might have something to do with the heavy boot that gets stomped down from the "do-not-suggest" list, which gets treated as a "thou-shalt-not-talk-about" list way too often.
  3. Same here. The only large things I've built are stations. I'll use RCS if I need a big attitude adjustment, but if it's something small, I just wait and move it gently. I figure do it once, rather than overshoot and keep wobbling back and forth with PIO.
  4. Perhaps Squad could get around to getting their own website some day? That way we could just get the whole story, instead of having to track down multiple different locations to get bits and pieces.
  5. How do I feel? Apathetic. I think they should work on giving us new things to do and new ways to do them, and getting what we already have correct before they start giving us new places to half-ass our way through half-finished tasks.
  6. Haven't seen the movie, so I can't say for certain. RCS could be used if they need to quickly adjust attitude during landing. If they were to land on a slope, or a landing leg was coming down on a large rock, RCS might be needed to keep the ship upright. The Harrier uses its system to control attitude because the control surfaces don't work in hovering or slow flight. High altitude aircraft that travel in very thin atmosphere, such as the X-15 or NF-104 would also use RCS systems to maintain control.
  7. Thank you! This is one of those mods that adds to the game in such a way that I don't notice it much until it's not there. Great for immersion.
  8. There's a difference between "I think Squad should add docking!" and "I think Squad (and every one of their family members) should be hung, drawn, and quartered because they made the new fuel tank the wrong shade of grey!".
  9. Is there a way to get FPS directly from KSP?
  10. Sigh. If you're going to complain about stupid Americans, at least get the math right. Is it one in four, which is 25%, or 20%, which is one out of 5?
  11. Within the last two months or so, I saw Destination Moon. If you want to see a Heinlein movie, check that one out.
  12. 27 degrees, humidity 88%, just after midnight.
  13. Starship Troopers Never should have watched it after reading the book.
  14. The Gulf Coast of Texas says hello, and wishes that it would get the cool at night. Just wondering, what's you're humidity level?
  15. Yeah, but then I get picky about my decouplers lining up correctly. (Yes, it's a minor detail, but it bugs me.)
  16. But then I have to keep switching symmetry modes every time I add a part. I should be able to set the mode I want and leave it there, not constantly switch back and forth. Building asparagus stages, I will sometimes build different fueltank/engine stacks for the pairs. I can easily place the radial decouplers, but then I have to build all the boosters the same, or I have to build each one individually. I'd love to be able to place four decouplers and then build two pairs of stacks. Fuel lines have to be run from each stack individually, instead of in pairs, which would make sense.
  17. Yes, but if I select 6x symmetry, grab a part to add to the vehicle and move the cursor over a part with 3x or 4x symmetry, it will change to that, instead of leaving it at 6x. Or if I use 4x symmetry to add boosters to my vehicle, and I want to add something to two of them, I have to do each one separately. I can't switch to 2x to do it, because it will jump to 4x.
  18. I love the Radish pod. It really fills a hole in the game. I do wonder about the texture, though. It just looks unfinished to me. I darkened the top half to match the bottom because it bothered me.
  19. My favorite comedy is called "Life". You really have to be in the mood for it, and appreciate absurdity. It's hard to pick one comedy as "favorite", since humor can vary so much with mood. Something involving Mel Brooks is probably going to be at or near the top of the list most of the time, though.
  20. For a clue on how much atmospheric drag can affect a spacecraft in orbit, note that when ISS is on the dark side of Earth, the solar panels are turned edge-on to the direction of travel to minimize drag.
  21. It's based on reputation. See: http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/51861-Forum-feature-highlight-the-reputation-system
  22. I don't have a link, but you can find it pretty easily via google.
  23. See: That's talking about NASA software for the space shuttle. For any non-trivial program, you're not going to find anything better.
  24. Glad to hear you're still active. Sometimes people will release a useful mod and then disappear. I'm looking forward to your update whenever you get a chance.
