How long did it take for you to learn to land on mün?
razark replied to Stormpilot's topic in KSP1 Discussion
Define "land", first of all... It took me a couple months to get to that point. I didn't want to just watch videos and copy what they were doing so I had to figure out a lot of it on my own, and there weren't quite as many tools available back then. -
then a frosted cake is a sandwich. Now, excuse me while I finish my breakfast sandwich.
-
WHAT?!? Who would complain about the videos he had? There goes half of my "Watch Later" list...

It should be done using the Extraplanetary Launchpad mod to build a spacedock to build the ship in orbit.

The nacelle struts are wrong for the NCC-1701-A. The original Constitution class had the straight version, but those were replaced by the angled ones for the refit. But it's still cool.

I seem to have completely forgotten about that. Thanks for the reminder. -

Huh. Since when did this exist? Honestly, I've never noticed it. Is this a stock feature, or a modded one? ( I have been known to confuse them before.) -

I'm not sure what you mean here. Can you please clarify? -
While I often complain about other people's lives, what exactly is it that makes yours so complainable?

totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?

I take little comfort that highly trained aerospace/IT/science/etc. professionals are indistinguishable from school-kids. -
totm aug 2023 What funny/interesting thing happened in your life today?
razark replied to Ultimate Steve's topic in The Lounge
I have seen that too many times, with company- or center-wide emails. Followed by the many responses saying something along the lines of "Do not use reply all." and "Do not use 'reply all' to tell people not to use 'reply all'.". Hint: If you need to send an email to a group of people, and do not need responses spammed across the list, include the list of email addresses in the "BCC:" field. -
See here: (But don't read too far into the thread. It ain't pretty.)
-
This is not standard? I'm so used to having it set up this way that I forgot it's something I must have done at some point.
-
Yes. I'm sorry that these options are all biased on the side of reality. That's a completely different question. I'm talking about the situation that currently exists. Squad missed a deadline. This is the reality. Their options are either to release what they have now, or to fix it and release it later. All the complaining in this thread is not going to make another option possible. Potato soup.
-
Too late. We're already here. Not getting here is NOT an option without the time machine.
-
You're right. Absolutely right. So, what's the solution? A. Time machine B. Release crap now C. Release working version later Pick the one answer that's not going to anger a significant section of the community.
-
I suppose I must now look into this and see what I can find. I had an espresso machine at one point. More effort than I would be willing to go through after dragging myself out of bed. Automated, however, might be acceptable.
-
I make two cups of coffee a day. One to drink while getting ready, and one for the drive to work. I've yet to see a coffee pot that works well on a small scale like that, so I'm happy with my pod-coffee.

I had no speculation. I said "Squad did A, which did not make sense." You said: "Maybe Squad did A, in preparation for doing B." I said "There's no evidence that Squad was going to do B, and a bit of indication that Squad was not doing B." You seem to take great offense at this, and typed up something, removed it, typed up something else, and still have no evidence for making that wild guess in your first response. That's not ethics. That's just me being lazy and not taking the time to figure out exactly which little bit of your response to cut out to respond to. Plus the fact that I don't really care. If you're going to go off on some rant because I pointed out that you had no evidence to base your statement on, then I'm done having a rational conversation with you, and any further response on the subject is likely to get the thread locked, investigated and edited by the mods, and another infraction for me, so I'm leaving it here. G'night.
-
So, you don't have any evidence that your speculation is true, either?
-
Nope. Because they never gave any indication that was going to happen. Had they ever given any sign that they were doing that, it would might have been different. But of course, remember when they claimed that multiplayer would never be added, then said multiplayer would be added, and then never said anything about it again? Squad has a history of having a problem with communicating a consistent plan or their intentions. However, considering they hired the guy that made the Sounding Rockets mod and have not added it to the game, I feel quite confident about it.
-
Yeah, a pioneer. Small rockets. Sounding rockets. Even captured V-2s at White Sands would fit a barn. And here are Mercury capsules (equivalent to the starting level of KSP) being constructed: That ain't no barn they're in.
-
Now, this would fit with a "barn" concept.

totm march 2020 So what song is stuck in your head today?
razark replied to SmileyTRex's topic in The Lounge
Back in college, a friend of mine heard "Blowin' in the Wind" playing. He complained about the singer making fun of such a good song.
