  1. It seems like it's the only way MP could work in a game with time warp like KSP. Otherwise it would involve a whole bunch of time paradoxes and other crazy stuff. EDIT: Hoping the MP won't suck as much as DMP (don't get me wrong, it's a great mod but helluvalot buggy and unstable). I would love to recreate a Pegasus or MAKS launch with one of my buddies. He's more of a rocketman and I'm more of a plane guy, so doing stuff like this would be great.
  2. Yes. PEW PEW! On a serious note (and after some thinking and reading of this thread), I think it might've been nice if we taught them our languagues and they would show us some of their math or physics equations we don't know about. One of the languagues spoken on Earth might be similar to a languague used by some other civilization in the universe so knowing it might be useful. I mean, what other thing an all-knowing civilization has to do? Space travels get boring and they might actually consider learning a form of entertainment! Either that or they would talk to the dolphins.
  3. Oh hey, that's a cool thread I haven't replied to yet! A civilization able to go interstellar would probably treat us as an amusement park, or something like that. They could take from us whatever they wanted without even caring about being attacked. My lasers defeat your heat-seeking missiles! PEW PEW! They would probably take a few pics here and there, chat about the economics and politics for a few minutes, gather some animals or plants for DNA and fly away.
  4. It feels nice, doesn't it? EDIT: I MEAN THE PROBE THING EDIT2: I MEAN, UH... Having a probe in a stable orbit around another planet. Very satisfying, isn't it?
  5. I think it was around 0.24 that worked really well, but don't really remember. 0.90 was awful, but I still should be thankful it worked on my ubercrappy laptop.
  6. I agree with this. Maybe not with the chatterer, unless they would be captioned as helpful tips and tricks. Maybe things like "You're getting close to your manouver" or "Did you know you can use jets on Laythe? We should go there!" And you could turn them off, of course. Or something... I dunno.
  7. The water should've been fixed long time ago. It's deadlier than the solid ground.
  8. How about an 'undo' function? Bascially what Paint/Gimp/other graphics programs have except it undoes the last input you gave the node. I screwed up way too many manouvers and had to recreate and fine-tune them from the scratch. Though I guess it wouldn't be an issue if the mouse scrollwheel precision got fixed.
  9. Oh, I just LOVE when the site randomly reloads and it seems my whole post is gone! Thanks Google Chrome! You're my faaaaaavourite! Anyway, the post went something like this: Piggy back rides to orbit Pegasus/MAKC style = super fun. Space races = time paradoxes AKA not fun and something how I suggested a solution once to avoid those, but people didn't like it.
  10. 1800m/s dV? That's not the right number for stock atmo. You need at least 3500m/s if playing stock. Unless you're talking about the dV after you are going fast enough and ready to switch to LF/O engines? Edit: nevermind. It's late here and I need to sleep appearantly.
  11. TWR and the max speed you can achieve at high altitudes are cruicial when designing an SSTO (don't forget about lift if it's meant to be a plane). At least for me. What I also do is estimate more or less how much liquid fuel I will need in the lower atmosphere, then empty those LF-only tanks and switch the engines/engines' mode. Then I look at KER. Set the alt and speed values and see how much dV and TWR I will have left after the air gets too thin for the air-breathers. And fly a lot, of course. Always test your SSTOs in different conditions.
  12. Same. The new AI actually tries to use some sort of tactics by applying airbrakes and such. Just finished my plane thanks to the released guns and I'm ready for when the tournament restarts.
  13. Yes. It should have been implemented a long time ago. It wouldn't be confusing for new players if the game got a few appropriate tutorials. Also KAC.
  14. I really would like to have that space shuttle popping sound when taking off. Also KW Rocketry had some amazing sounds for it's engines.
  15. Maybe I lack imagintation, but still don't think KSP is made out of multiplayer game material. Can someone give me any examples of how it could be interesting and enjoyable without mods like BDArmory? I played the DMP and it was more like "OK, feel free to add a module or two to my space station while I'm away" and not much else.
  16. I'm pretty sure most of those will be fixed in 1.1 with the new wheel module. They just didn't bother fixing the old module because they were already working on the new one, which in my opinion is understandable. I can struggle for some more time if I'm promised something that actually works as wheels, not skids. AFAIK the remodeled small gear bay is coming in 1.1. I agree that having adjustable landing gear in stock wouldn't hurt.
  17. Oh, yeah. Forgot about the RAPIER. I believe the small engine is called 'Juno' after the WW2 Jumo engine. You didn't read what I posted after that, did you?
  18. Ok, you and Red Iron Crown actually made me change my opinion on that. I would especially like the small nuke, but we really need that PorkJet's tweakable to make the fuel tanks LF only first to make them worth using. My point though was that we still lack an engine to fly in oxygen-less atmospheres. I'm only going to use the small 'Juno' engine, because it will be added and is cute (yes, 'cute' is my main argument here). But 'Goliath' and 'Panther'? Nah, don't think so. Also, @Red Iron Crown: Six jet engines? I thought we were getting additional three to already existing two? That makes it five, not six.
