  1. I have no kids myself (hell, I'm 22 and I don't plan to, I'm a selfish [Jon Snow], you know), but I really hope that KSP will influence the path of at least some of them. I really want to see the humankind to go places and leave foot prints not only on the Moon's soil. I hope that this game is a good beginning for those kids that are just fooling around right now. Maybe some of them will be the first to land on Mars or be the ones who made that happen? Who knows...
  2. Why? I can easily imagine the hatch to be blown off and the pilot ejected throught the hole in case of trouble. Unless we're talkin ground service here.
  3. Oh come on man! You even changed your avatar to support this silly idea! If you keep it like this I'll have to change mine to "Keep the cone" with the same picture to counter you, because I really don't want that to happen.
  4. You can clearly see on your (not any IRL) example it doesn't fit well. It's the shape. We would either need the cockpit to be remodelled to fit the Avionics Pack, or the Avionics Pack and the small cone to fit the cockpit.

  7. That's different though. Attaching Goliath to the back of the plane seems way more useful than adding an avionics pack or the Oscar tank to the front. You can add all of those parts proposed by you without hurting the looks. The only thing we would gain if the nose cone got removed is bad looks.
  8. Yeah, the RAPIER looks pretty bad and I would love to see it refreshed.
  9. I couldn't care less about KSP coming to consoles and don't understand what's all this hate about. As long as it doesn't hurt the PC version I'm okay with it.
  10. Why even remove it? It will look much worse with anything but the nose cone. Edit: it seriously looks bad without it.
  11. The nose should stay, the hatch should be on top. What's the point in the cockpit not being pointy? What do you want to put in there instead of the nose cone?
  12. I said it in some other thread, but I will say it again: If the old one is going to be kept I want it to be redone X-1 or Ar234. It might be silly for it to be full glass, but think about VTOLs. And it would also look awesome. I don't expect it to happen, tho.
  13. Exactly this. The new inline cockpit is more than perfect for the jet/space fighters. It's good to see we're finally getting a civilian looking cockpit. Also glad there are so many votes for the new cockpit. The old one is reallt ugly and not worth keeping, unless it got remodelles to look like X-1's cockpit or Arado 234's.
  14. Rovers aren't really worth bothering with before 1.1. I cried a lot when I found out how bad the wheels are on less than 1G bodies. Probably should work fine on Eve or Laythe, but after trying to achieve anything with them on Duna I gave up sending rovers anywhere else.
  15. 5-way RCS port is the answer, not messing with the hatch placement.
  16. Exactly. I almost never (unless I really, really have to) use the Mk1-2 and do what you said instead. I don't expect the Mk1-2 to be changed in 1.1. I would really like to get a Drangon V2 (with 4 crew to balance it instead of IRL 7) in-game counterpart, but that's probably not happening in 1.1.
  17. Seemed to me like mainly the pitch was affecting the wobbliness, but havent did much to roll so it might also be that. Seems like the roll control is on the suspects list now.
  18. So it's useless deadweight for now. But that's fine. It's still useful to fine tune the CoM placement and other stuff. Also another question (since you said you would be givibg FAR advices): my design seems to be slightly wobbly when conrroled by AI, but it's perfectly fine when controlled manually. Seems like it's caused by SAS. Any way to disable it, or do I have to rethink my design in such a way it won't do that anymore? Edit: Okay, nevermind. It's been answered on the first page of the thread. Will try it tomorrow.
  19. I have a question about the weapon modpack. When I try to activate the guns it just says there are none. Am I doing something wrong? Maybe using the wrong ammo since there are two types of 20mm?
  20. Oh, alright. So there is no mass limit in the challenge, right? You have to work it out yourself based on what engine is allowed for what class?
  21. I wonder what made them take off for such a long time. A design flaw or rather AI error? It's really fun to watch. Waiting for the tournament to restart with new crafts and all that. EDIT: Why so many people decide to make their designs cockpit-less?
