  1. Most games allow for multiple games saves with a limited number allowed. IE: Crysis series, Timeshift, etc. A "check point" type system could be implemented for orbit achieved, capture achieved, landing, etc. I think just extending the current system would be just fine. QuickSave as normal, reload brings up a list of your quick saves.
  2. All very good suggestions. Having all this "stuff" would be very cool. What would be more interesting is to have a method of recording and storing this data, maybe in a new KSC building? A place to look at the data collected during missions, photos (radio and optical telescopes), etc. Inclusion in the careers update? I know there is a couple mods that allows for science data export/saving, but don't know if they are current.
  3. Excellent video series! I can do the coding and CFG files, but had no idea where to start with modelling programs. Just what I needed to get going! Great job!
  4. an "in-engine" capture, oh yes, I can see having that (several posts on replay function and your QA suggestion is a great one), but what's being discussed is actual video recording . So there would be the load of recording video (rendering output) in addition to game play. Admittedly, if KSP was the only thing running most PC's wouldn't have an issue, but why add this type of load when there are off-the-shelf products optimised for this purpose?
  5. Agreed. I look at it this way. I have a Logitec G13 game pad. While the device costs, the templates for hundreds of games do not. This is an app for and external device. If the app devs want to charge (and I would) it's their call. Now charging for the template the app displays, that's pushing it (legally speaking )! Great idea BTW! I often have my SAMSUNG tablet in front of me while I game. To have this kind of interaction, love it!
  6. Like the MapSat mod does? Hmmmmm.....I love the MapSat mod, and I can see using it's data to further something else in-game. The museum, to track achievements, love that one!
  7. Yup....I like this one too! Does anyone know if they plan on having a permanent list of this data in career mode (Kerbal Training Center?)? Status of life (IE: "..crushed by rover.." or "On Duty"), total flights (missions), total flight time (mission time), etc
  8. I concur! (and pad out my reply to the required 10 characters!!)
  9. Agreed Kinda sounds like the "Instant Replay" suggestion, kinda. I would definitely NOT want this added. I port my HDMI to another PC to do all my recording. This way, the only thing running on the gaming machine is the game.
  10. Well I look at it kinda like drag chutes. They deploy (full envelope, I know they must be staged), automatically, when at 500 meters relative. Why not landing gear?
  11. On the VAB side, never. On the SPH, only when I'm doing something "only Jeb would try"!
  12. Well first, I agree with pa1983 assessment of KSP on a mobile device, natively. I have a Galaxy Tablet 10.1 running Android and have installed the 2X Client RDP app. At home, I have my Windows 7 machine I can RDP into. So when the urge comes, I RDP into my home PC, Bluetooth KB & M at the ready and I'm gaming. Any game! Latency isn't too bad. Obviously, the more intense the graphics, the slower it gets. Have also tried this using the LogMeIn service, had graphics issues but it does work. Kinda. M2CW
  13. A good point. However, someone building a craft with both wheels and gear would probably not want this "feature" turned on. Thinking on it, making the selection a right-click option (like the raise/lower) to auto deploy may be better. But I can see this getting complicated quickly. :|
  14. All the Space Shuttle pilots had to do is flip a switch, but the computer still dropped the landing gear automatically, so they could concentrate on flying. This could be implemented easily as a system setting. Auto gear down {radio yes/no} Gear down altitude {slider 1 to 500?} Would make a nice feature. Agreed!
  15. Was just on Armin Van Buuren's website A State Of Trance (http://www.astateoftrance.com) and suddenly noticed that the little guys they have are very Kerbal-ish looking. Whcih got me wondering, what do Kerbal's listen to?
  16. Cool! Thanks for that. Obvious question, this file says 0.18, is there no 0.19? Or does this package not need updating that frequently? Thanks again!
  17. Can a Mod or Dev check the link for the Unity Part Tools Download please. Is the 0.16 the most recent? TIA
