  2. Yeah... sorry about the tone of that. Like I said, I was incredibly angry when I wrote that. Not so much at you but rather at youtube itself for this half-baked \'feature\'. The best thing in the world would be to have the tutorial narrated with your actual voice. It does seem like it contains information very useful for Blender-noobs like myself.
  3. BEST. SKYRIM. MOD. EVER. -> [noembed] [/noembed]
  4. Oh yeah. Tyson is basically Sagan 2.0.
  5. Heh, I wouldn\'t know about that, but IMO it\'s best not to take such things too seriously and personally. As for Dawkins, I think his aggressive argumentation is understandable given that he comes from a proper scientific background, unlike his opponents. The thing that really bothers me about him is his delivery. He has a strange air of smugness about him even when he\'s agreeing with people or saying something genuinely nice. I think a lot of people find that quite off-putting.
  6. I don\'t think $7,000 a month qualifies as average income in any country in the world.
  7. I don\'t really pay that much attention to the guy, but I don\'t think he criticizes other scientific fields very much, does he?
  8. The difference is that the USA and the USSR had enough money to keep trying. I have a feeling it\'s going to be a while before NK can afford to build another one.
  9. Oh look. I swear I\'ve seen this thing on Star Trek as well, but I can\'t find any pictures of it now and I\'m not watching all 79 episodes again just to find it.
  10. Yeah, the rover in the video uses those old landing gears that are completely static and just sort of slide across terrain. Now thanks to the magic of plug-ins we have wheels that actually turn. Oh, progress.
  11. Obviously we\'ll have to turn the Sun off for the duration of the trip. It\'s going to be a bit of an inconvenience for the rest of humanity, but it can\'t be helped.
  12. Version 13.3 is the free demo. You can buy version 14.4 (along with future updates) from the KSP Store. -> http://kerbalspaceprogram.com/kspstore/ As for additional parts, check out the Add-on section of the forums.
  13. Well yes, the Shuttle did have an expendable fuel tank, but most of the system was reusable, in particular the sophisticated and expensive parts. The idea was to cut costs, but it was actually more expensive to launch stuff on it than it would\'ve been using expendable rockets. Then again, governmental programs aren\'t exactly known for being efficient. If this private company can pull this off and actually make a cheap reusable launch system, good for them.
  14. Welcome to the KSP Forums! Happy Launching! Arrr! Admiral Sordid
  15. Nah, I think competition is the way to go. Cooperation doesn\'t work. It was the space race that put man on the Moon forty years ago. From first human spaceflight to lunar landing in under a decade. And look what\'s happened in the last 20 years after the space race ended - the US, the Russians, the EU, Japan, and even Canada are working together, with far more advanced technology I might add, and what have they accomplished? They built a tin can in orbit, woo hoo. It\'s a very nice tin can, sure. And those robots they\'re sending out are pretty cool too. But it\'s all still peanuts to putting a human being on another celestial body. I really hope the Chinese are serious about this. Because China, which everyone thinks of as the place where all those cheap products that don\'t work properly come from, China one-upping the self-proclaimed technological leaders of the world is just what the West needs to motivate it to finally remove its head from its anus and start doing something worthwhile again.
  16. Didn\'t they say the same thing about the Space Shuttle? It\'d be awesome if they actually pulled it off, but I\'m skeptical. Also: I want to know which country this guy lives in so that I can move there immediately. I suspect he lives on another planet entirely, though. At least in his head.
  17. And here I thought my rockets were insane.
  18. Thank you for the feedback, it is indeed much appreciated. As Skunky said, the comic in its entirety is essentially an in-joke and rests upon the premise that the reader knows KSP. Without knowledge of KSP the comic about the kerbals staying alive even when they are \'killed\' doesn\'t make any sense either. That\'s just the premise of it, our target audience is the KSP community. And while we do plan to expand the characters and include some original story arcs, time sensitive in-jokes are always going to be part of the comic, even if they are marginalized somewhat. Which I agree they probably should be, but the introduction of the blueshirts and trees to KSP was too significant to ignore. I agree that the dialog is too wordy sometimes. I do my best to edit it and cut it down as much as possible, precisely for the reasons you mentioned. But sometimes I fail, such as in the second comic. As for superfluous panels, that I think has more to do with the format. It\'s a four panel comic strip with given image dimensions, it\'s not that simple to change the number of panels. We\'ll see what we can do about that in the future. To answer your question, no the writer and the artist are not the same person. Most of the time at least. I\'d love if you would continue to provide critique in the future.
  19. Looking forward to that. Also, that\'s not an accent.
  20. Why would he make an Easter egg that looks like an ordinary texture glitch?
  21. The latest episode of It\'s Hardly Rocket Science is available at www.kerbalcomics.com! Enjoy!
