  1. The star exists only as a light source and an associated lens flare effect, it has no actual physical presence. You used to be able to just fly straight through it (or very close to it), but I think a script may have been added that makes your ship explode if you come too close. Either way going to it is completely pointless.
  2. That\'s odd, I\'ve used C7 parts on multiple occasions and I never had any trouble with them.
  3. That\'s easier said than done, I\'m afraid.
  4. Steam\'s a bit of a double-edged sword, innit? On the one hand it\'s stupid and invasive, on the other hand any indie game that ends up there gets massive exposure and tons of sales. I wouldn\'t be against KSP on Steam if it also remains available via the KSP Store.
  5. Yeah, until an elderly barbarian hero comes along and appropriates your diamond teeth as his own.
  6. My belt. Which means I\'m now unable to take off my pants. Thanks for that.
  7. AFAIK Steam doesn\'t do aplha-funded games. Desura, on the other hand, does.
  8. It\'s not on the equator, it\'s near the equator. And it\'s far enough and small enough that if you\'re on the equator, you won\'t be able to see it.
  9. You wouldn\'t even need to do that. The game itself has no DRM and doesn\'t use online verification, so you could just DL the game using the patcher, then pack up the game directory with winzip and upload it somewhere. Other people could then unpack it and it\'d work fine for them. I\'m starting to think that some kind of light DRM might be a good idea.
  10. Nobody reported any damage to their craft while flying over the base. Your AA must be absolute rubbish, man.
  11. Yeah, I\'ve had that with my discarded descent stage on the Munar surface. Sometimes it shows up on the map, other times it doesn\'t. Not sure what\'s up with that. This game really needs a proper savegame system. You do have quicksave (F5/F9), but it works pretty much only when it feels like it. After having my rover explode for no reason while traveling a leisurely 10m/s across a flat plain, I\'ve taken to regularly stopping, exiting to the space center, and backing up the save file manually.
  12. You are using landing legs, right? Landing directly on the engine is a Very Bad IdeaTM.
  13. Look for the Munolith and the semi-mythical Tranquility Base.
  14. The Shadow? THE SHADOW!? (nerd points to whoever recognizes the reference)
  15. Wow. Stealing other people\'s plushies. That\'s low.
  16. Yeah, I\'ve come to the same conclusion and now I\'m basically just driving around in a rover. In my experience the minimum safe orbit around the Mun is about 3.5k, and from that altitude you won\'t see anything.
  17. Why hello there, welcome to the forums! I usually travel at 20-30m/s at 2x time compression, but my rover is quite heavy (about as heavy as yours, judging by the look of your suspension), so I can probably safely travel at speeds a bit higher than people who just glue a crew pod to the cart and call it a day. Also, how exactly are you going to get those kerbals home without an engine, hm?
  18. While this video tutorial may or may not have useful information, I find the auto-pausing thing infuriating, to the point where the tutorial is utterly useless for me. Seriously, there are no words to express my rage right now. The video doesn\'t pause itself long enough for me to even read the information, let alone perform the actions in Blender, and when I try to pause it manually the damn speech bubble goes away! And when I try to jump to an earlier point to have the information repeated, the speech bubble doesn\'t appear at all. This is ridiculous. Get rid of that nonsense, please. Just let me pause the damn thing myself when I want to.
  19. Okay, so I should basically be able to see the things from low Munar orbit. Cool. Oh, I don\'t suppose they get marked on the map once you get close to them, do they? That\'d be really neat.
  20. Oh it does, though I think C7-based aircraft would be better for exploring Kerbin. A question, though: From how far away are these things visible? Do they pop in at a certain distance?
  21. My rover is already circumnavigating the Mun along the equator as we speak. (picture taken immediately after landing, I don\'t actually drive it with the descent stage still attached) Which is probably the least efficient way of looking for it, but it\'s fun. See, now this is exactly what I was talking about when I said exploration is only fun when there\'s something interesting to find. I hadn\'t touched KSP in months, but now I can\'t stop playing. I want to find something, anything. As far as I\'m concerned, you can just shovel these locations in. The more the better.
  22. Can you? I distinctly remember Harv saying that it wouldn\'t have a physical surface because the heat will destroy you before you even get close, so there would be no point.
  23. Oh I\'m so going to put a Cart-based rover on the Mun and drive to that thing.
