  4. KSP has sold quite a few copies, they have more money than the development of this game will cost already. Also SQUAD is a marketing company first and foremost, with a few people working on a game, the company is not small (at least in comparison to other indie devs).

So, how much mb of ram is this plugin eating, I have a suspicion it is slowing my game down big time (although this is complaining on a high level, since the plugin is so awesome, I shall NEVER deinstall it again)... Cheers for making this mod, it is super-mega-uber-awesome, turning a game into a simulator

  11. installed the mod on a fresh install and extracted it (via modmanager) into the gamedata directory, the hullcams show up but no monitors in the cockpits... help anyone?
  12. Well, the way the game develops these days, I would not be afraid of career being too hard, so I doubt having money in game will probaby not change much and the contracts will probably be fun, so no need for yet another gamemode imo

Not that I would want the game to become a wargame, but the devs have said a lot of stuff over time and changed their opinion later, so no telling what will happen with weapons and the like, especially since multiplayer is coming (which the devs said for a long time would never come) and most of the guys who want multiplayer will ask for weapons to fight other players once multiplayer is done (actually I am so certain of that that you may quote me on this in the future).
  14. Well, if you are bad at waiting I'd recommend you buy the game in two years or so when it's finished and don't follow development for a while, i.e. forget about KSP. I doubt that the price will go up much further and squad has had trouble releasing quality updates for a while and every one of them is taking a long time to develop. If you don't want to buy the game as is now, you might as well wait till it is finished and see if you like the endresult. The development has been all over the place recently and there is no telling what the final game will be like anymore. Don't get me wrong here, I have been playing the game since it's first release and really liked the idea of it, but recently it looks like they don't know where they are going anymore and seem to spend their resources poorly. Don't forget that SQUAD is a marketing corp above all and lately marketing is the biggest part of their development...
  15. some kind of cargobay for rovers would be quite nice too. That should be a place were you store the rover (or other payload) that you built in the payload assembly building and later unpack it when you are on the destination body. Something like this was planned once, but who knows if the devs are still planning to make it with all the changes to the scope of the game since steam came into play....

  17. Well, first of all, I am very aware that KSP is a work in progress, that's why I made a suggestion on the science system in the first place. The whole idea of suggestions only makes sense on areas the devs are still willing to work on in my opinion. For the second part of your comment: NASA has unmanned probes on Mars, but in KSP we have Kerbals that don't need food or anything else to stay alive, so in many cases we send them rather than probes (this is also stimulated by the techtree). But still I see your point that on faraway planets people will probably probe first and go for a tour of getting surface samples later. So I guess my critique applies stronger to the kerbol system than the rest of the planets. But on Mun and Minmus you have to agree that it is far easier and (through the techtree) more likely that people send kerbals, thus having no reason to transmitting data... right?
  18. So you never return your kerbals home? Or do you transmit before you bring them back to kerbin?
  19. First of all, welcome to the forums! I'm not sure if I like the idea, the first one is too specific in my opinion, while the second one would happen too often, you would just end up clicking it away. Once kerbals have been properly integrated in the game (like with mission stats and skills that matter) it might be nice to be able to give them medals though, so you still get a reward for them doing awesome stuff in space. And on 3... aren't you talking about Jeb? Have a nice day!
  20. I'd rather have proper believable kerbals I care about, than multiplayer. The kerbals described in this thread are a part of career mode and thus needed right after the introduction of the economy. Have nice day!
  21. while we are at it: it would be awesome if we could pack rovers somehow how it was originaly planned by squad. I think rover transport is not very good how it is now have a nice day!
