  1. My opinion is that resources are probably pending a completion of the knowledge base, planetary (and otherwise) discovery mechanics, money, tech tree research (this is mostly done), and tweakables (coming in 0.23).
  2. WALL-E Remember all the debris when he leaves Earth?
  3. Never had any totally-off-the-wall dreams, but here goes some weirder ones: -Riding in car, being chased by glowing aliens, go down a cul-de-sac, get car stuck in gutter/drain, aliens come closer, dream ends (had this dream at least twice, not consecutively) -I'm on some platform in the cloudy sky in a van, then it drives forward off the platform and the clouds rush past. This resets, and I loop like this several times in a row. -Similar to previous one, only we're driving off a hill and 'rolling' the van (though in a pitching direction [and no yaw]) -Annoying recent one: got a robot stolen, but found a stash with some of our also-stolen stuff, and other robots -Any dream with two copies of a person freaks me out -And then the getting bitten by a snake and having an allergic reaction in a vehicle, being chased by bees, becoming weak when pushing hard, becoming slow when trying to run fast, and being silent when trying to yell
  4. Scott Manley managed on 7 parts (few versions old, so may or may not be possible now).
  5. Imagine the ping pong ball is the sterilization chamber.
  6. "to be in good shape, but it a bit ad" I... I don't even know what now.
  7. I hope you've seen the Mun, too
  8. Money hasn't been implemented in KSP yet. No ransoms.
  9. Houghton, MI, USA. I'm told this sign used to exist. But it's not so bad, I mean, we got to enjoy a thoroughly white Thanksgiving this year.

    Riddles

I've got a riddle waiting if we need it.
  11. Quit revolving? Fall into the sun in all likelihood. Quit rotating? Ahh, there is the real question. This very question was asked on TV: Wikipedia (I saw the episode) (Ignoring any question of how, or the slowdown causing any inertial or earthquake-style problems) One big problem would be that the atmosphere and oceans would tend to shift toward the poles. So, people would have to move toward the poles to breathe (say within 45 degrees of the poles). However, the polar regions would get flooded maybe about this far south (I'm guessing at my memory with the exact numbers). However, the shifting ocean would leave now-exposed areas of seafloor near the equator, which since they are now at lower effective altitude have breathable air. However, you have to dodge that sun. One caveat: the show had the earth stop rotating, not become tidally locked, so the sun slowly dragged across the surface instead of focusing on one spot.
  12. Well, the real problem is that, when relativistic effects become significant, your increasing mass, decreasing ship length, and dilating time will prevent you from reaching light speed (since your mass will be infinite and the ship will have zero-length). Faster than light, imaginary numbers start popping up all over the place. So, you need some trickery like the theorectical Alcubierre drive to manage this.
  13. Now what you say? How about "landing" on Jool and returning?
  14. Huh, I just finished Forward the Foundation a few days ago. Anyway, I think psychohistory could work on Earth, since Prelude to Foundation indicates that understanding Trantor was sufficient to begin understanding the galactic empire. One vibe I kind of get from the series relates to someone else's short story I read that humanity is kind of like the Phoenix, destroying itself repeatedly, but it is the destruction that allows it to live forever.
  15. So, regarding traces of alien civilization [spoiler ALERT] --> Like the face or the SSTV signal on Duna, or the monoliths and arches, or Joolian moon stonehenge? To other points, they are planning a discovery mechanism for other planets, but I'm not sure I want a secret puzzle for a secret place. I want to use SCIENCE to find new places.
  16. I guess there are a lot of ways to look at this: Is Encyclopedia Britannica reliable? Heck, is anything actually reliable? How can we be sure that we actually know anything about anything? The general disclaimer explicitly tells us that Wikipedia is not reliable. Some articles are absolute drivel, horribly unsourced, piles of promotional fluff -- while others are written by researchers in their field (I know this applies to some plants, and some lemurs), or are otherwise of decent quality and are probably as reliable as other works out there. Also, vandalism is either reverted quite quickly (~1 min), or can languish for up to several years. Of course it isn't reliable! I mean, I got a message at least twice today that it was briefly unavailable; anything less than 99.99999% uptime is utterly unreliable.
  17. Weather, CubeSat... eh, that's all I've got in addition.
  18. If you like this game (and it seems you do), I would recommend buying soon. It is currently $23 (ignoring Steam sales) and can only go up from there (it used to be something like $7 back at 0.14, and now we're at 0.22). Regarding other solar systems, I believe that is planned, but is presently on a back burner while the devs work on other areas of the game closer to 'home'. Also, if it's your cup of tea, the paid version allows for pretty wide-open modding, getting you some things like warp drive (though planet modding and other system mods have been hit-or-miss), and a whole bunch more.
  19. The first and only time I try to EVA on the surface of gilly ... *BOOM* comes the Hell Kraken and Jeb (I think) gets hurled into nullspace. I think I managed it one other time on Kerbin.
  20. When you're stoked by the fact that on the FRC team you mentor, at least three of the students are into KSP, and you're annoyed by a few who aren't. When real Solar System objects seem weird and Kerbol System objects are more normal. When you want to treat static images on the news like map view (WHY YOU NO PAN AND TILT!), especially if it's a space-themed story.
