  1. thank you for your quick fix, it works great, I don't have a question mark like the person above, I have the jigsaw picture on mine.. To the person asking about new directory structure, do not use it, just use the old folders for this mod, it works in them at the moment.
  2. Silly question, but can we edit our existing parts, or would it be better to wait for an update to parts I wonder
  3. Sounds great, might have to try this, although I can see one little problem, what if your target is LARGE and you cannot easily target the docking port that you want to dock to (like a space station) - Normally I use ORDA to choose my docking ports cause it lists all of them whereas Mechjeb doesn't.
  4. Hmm, well the latest collision was when my ship was waiting for the station to come to it, then all of a sudden the station appeared form the left and collided with the ship.. I guess if I had spotted that I could have disabled autopilot and fired my engines slowly hopefully enough to keep the station from catching up completely Will give it another go and see what happens...
  5. Yes that's what I meant If it could be stopped 50-100m BEFORE passing it would be great, but for now I will try to keep an eye on things and try not to destroy another station...
  6. I no expert, but try loading in an existing texture, then editing it to how you want, then saving it under another name keeping all the original pictures formatting I use paint.net and have had no trouble viewing stuff I have done etc, but I always start out with an original and alter it to how I want it to be.
  7. PLEASE, can the closest approach in rendezvous be made user defined or at least make it 80-100m away from the target ship/station... I just blew up my latest station for the 3rd time cause rendezvous is causing my ship to collide with the bits of station I have already put up into orbit. The way rendezvous is now would be great for 2 ships docking with each other, but for Space Stations it is a real pain in the butt more than anything else. (as we all know, most stations are NOT small
  8. They are RCS tanks - I created them using the "Part Generator" mod, and the texture is by TheCardinal
  9. Was trying to figure out some landing legs for my new ship, and came up with this... - Thanks to the eagle I got decent landing legs now:
  10. Id there any way to strengthen the joining of the tanks? - reason for asking is I have got 2 tanks joined and keep getting structural failures between them even tho I got struts trying to anchor them together
  11. Ahhh many thanks for explaining that, I am just glad to find out that it isn't me that's causing the problem :) - will have to have a go at manual and see if I can get it to dock
  12. Well I just built a new ship over 300 tons (around 124 ton AFTER it reaches orbit) - but it had 4 rockets exactly the same distance from the center pod, I put one RCS at the top and at the bottom of each of these tanks so that there was 4 at the top and 4 at the bottom all way around (only 1 unit at the top and 1 unit at the bottom of each tank) and launched.. Once I did the auto dock I watched it closely.... It swung back and forward like a pendulum after it lined up.. - what was happening, was that it was increasing the speed to 0.5m/s to come back to the center of things, BUT it was NOT reducing that the closer it got to the being lined up.. - it would start decreasing after it got to the line up point, thus causing it to overshoot all the time... I no expert at all, but to me it seems to not be taking into account the mass of the rocket trying to dock, and is treating it like a small pod (which would stop in time I guessing) this is why it is overshooting all the time as it does not seem to realize that it has to start slowing down a lot sooner rather than wait till the last minute... This make sense?? and yes, using RCS manually does work fine, it of course doesn't turn or react as quick as a small pod does, but it does react
  13. Thanks guys, much appreciated - I always used the rotate option cause that's what the initial video I watched said to do - will try it with not selecting that.. No probs regards the larger docking things, I have used a small empty tank the size I want just above the docking port and have mounted the 2 things on either side of that (have still yet top test it, but it should work EDIT/UPDATE: Well I don't think this mod likes me at all, no matter what I do I cannot seem to get it working properly.. Either it's a mod I have installed that is interfering with it, or my ships are just too big or I have RCS in the wrong place. - (I am thinking along the lines that cause the ships are sooo big (the smallest I have tried with is around 190 tons) the mod is telling the rcs to do something too late cause the ships take so long to turn etc, which causes things to go screwy) My reasoning behind this is because watching carefully, when it is trying to line up etc, it is always overshooting where it was heading to before the RCS kicks in and tries to correct.. (IE: the speed of the ships closing doesn't get back down to 0 before the 2 ships are lined up which causes it to overshoot. Hope all that makes sense - anyway here is a screenie of the mods I have installed.
  14. Question: Why does the target vessel have to be rotated, couldn't the vehicle that's doing the docking position itself in the right position?? Reason for asking, Kerban Dragon VII Space station is no more due to a massive explosion when the rocket with the next part collided with it while in rotation stage of docking.. I started rotation stage at around 120m and watched as the target started trying to aline itself with the rocket carrying the new part, it kind of looked like the RCS was over compensating.. - then the rocket started turning for some reason to match the turning station, and as I watched in disbelief they moved closer and closer together all the time trying to line themselves up until BOOM...
  15. Yup, have tried it several times - Huess it doesn't like me, as I am one of those that have problems with docking using it.
  16. Hmm, I may have found a bug, or is it a feature When in automatic docking mode, once the ships/station have lined up it automatically switches to docking camera whether I have it marked or not, and nothing I try gets me out of it, I have to wait until the ships/station are docked, go out to space center and then back in to be able to get an external view again..
  17. Many thanks for doing the Kerbal Alarm Clock, it is one of my "must have" mods I use in KSP - it helps me out a lot since I don't know what I am doing half the time...
  18. This its a matter of personal preference, and whether or not you mind actually "testing" things, as has been said many times, the new mechjeb is still in the development stage, so in effect you would be testing it That being said, I use the new mechjeb 2 in association with hydrotech RCS (for docking) and that combo works great for me. - I haven't go around for testing to other planets as yet tho so cannot comment on that..
  19. Suggestion: Is there any chance of you coming up with different sizes of the ring arrangement please? I use Fusteks Common Berthing Mechanisms (they seem to dock better than the vanilla ones) and having your RCS rings in the sizes he uses would be great
  20. Thank you , my Kerbals will much appreciate it, there was nearly two nasty accidents last night when trying to dock, the ships very nearly collided with the station when they were doing their orientation etc due to being so close.. - even Jeb wasn't too happy about this occurring and he doesn't usually mind these near misses
  21. Great mod you got here Is there a chance that the distance it loses focus be changed from 100m to 200m maybe? - Reason for this is that my rather large ships take forever to turn, and even tho I get to within 40m of my space station I building by the time I do delta V and orientation that distance has gone back out to over 80m. Then when I activate the docking mode and do rotate command that nine times out of ten goes out to over the 100m cutoff My main problem is the design of the lifters, where I can only put 2 sets of RCS thrusters at the top and bottom of the main part of the lifter as the parts for the station go under that and I cannot really put RCS on those as they would interfere with the RCS on the core of the station. - having this design means that the ships etc take a lot longer to do things
  22. Please Please consider taking OUT the global auto stage setting, it is a real pain in the butt.. Forgetting to turn it off and docking with my station results in everything joining together into one BIG stage as soon as I undock If I do not turn it on at all and do staging manually from liftoff I do not have this problem. Maybe put something in the settings (like you have with the transparency setting) that allows people to choose whether to have global auto stage or not
  23. What about instead of getting rid of or keeping mechjeb you do both, ie: have 2 versions, a mech one and a non-mech one Personally I would prefer the mech one
  24. Waits patiently to be able to download it Did you also know your "what I am working on" is a 404 error
