  1. Have you thought about how crafts would spawn on the launch facilities? If two people launch at the same time, you'll end up with a huge explosion on the launch pad/runway. There could be a system that does not let you spawn f another craft is on a launch facility, but then that one person that always tries to annoy everyone would just sit on the launched constantly. So, maybe a time limit for being in the spawn areas, and then your ship gets blown up/catapulted away, causing much hilariousness? I'd personally go with the second option...
  2. Bad day? BAD DAY??? Look at his HUGE SMILE and think again!!!
  3. Oh god. Looks like tomorrow will include a lot of window-deleting for me... Edit: Wait, what if the faces have nothing to clip into? Here's how my window are made (view from above): I I I ------- I I I ------- I I I I I { Window I I I I ------- I I I ------- I I I The 'bumps' are the window frame. There is no face behind it, so nothing to cause z-fighting? Right? Right...?
  4. That...that thread is by Bac9!!! It's the same guy! I'm sure!!! Also, trying to fix this now would mean basically redoing everything. Is it very important, or can I leave the windows as they are? What is z-fighting anyway?
  5. My plot is finished. Here is the Imgur album Nothke, if you don't mind, can I use my props (the individual buildings) and make my own little mod out of them? Of course, I'll say that all of it was made for Kerbin City...
  6. Nothke, can you please tell me what you think about my plot? (Keep in mind it's not 100% finished.) Please?
  7. I've already made my apartment blocks in a New York Queens style, but those are the 'cheap' ones on the edge of the city. There could be more closer to the center, maybe similar to what you're suggesting...
  8. Important Question: Should I make fences between the gardens (in the residential area) or just low walls?
  9. Off topic, but jrolson, do you have anything to do with J Rollon, the fantastic X-Plane modder?
  10. Here is my progress on the residential area. Since it will be (judging by the map) a separate island, I made it quite large. I would have been finished by now, but there were family matters to attend to this week (I really love birthdays, even when they are not mine) so work went slower than I hoped. Cue the Imgur album: Please tell me what you guys think. Also, I like your buildings Justin!!!
  11. OK, I've planned out what my residential area will be like. 15-20 small houses with gardens and small roads between them, 2-4 large 6-floor mansions off to the side, and 10 New-York Queens style 20-floor buildings on the side closer to the city. Any comments or suggestions?
  12. We do. The huge one that says 'Galileo'? Put that on the R7 together with the Fregat and you've got the rocket on that picture.
  13. I think the checklist says play balalaika, drink vodka, walk the bear, find the 'Ushanka' (a Russian hat) and something else I can't remember.
  14. Thanks! CGTextures has given my ideas for lots of stuff. I think I'll actually make the residential area bordered with New York Queens-Style apartment buildings on one side. Might throw in a modern high-rise as well.
  15. Could someone please give their opinion on my little house thingy?
  16. Here: I'll have the same house but colored differently, as well as maybe two or three really posh mansions, all arranged with gardens, fences, roads between them, signs, benches, lamps, etc. Most of these textures are from CGTextures, thanks to whoever spoke about it first. It really does help.
  17. A simple house: I've counted 33 tris, might be a bit more if I add more detail, let's say 40. So a residential area with 20 of these would have 800 tris. Add some more for benches, signposts, fences and additional decoration - you've got 1000 to 1200 tris. With different textures and bump maps this could turn out quite pretty.
  18. Nothke, what do you think of a residential area with lots of low-detail houses? I could try to do that, since I'm not that good at high-detail stuff.
  19. The docking port on the back of the Mir core might be put on backwards. It's easy to make that mistake, I did when building my first Mir. That led to some rage quitting...
  20. He probably used Photoshop or something similar. I doubt that it is possible to do that in-game. Also, notice the Kerbal's pose - I don't remember Kerbals putting their thumb up to...well...anything.
