  1. The tech tree does not present you the goal, the missions we will have in game will. You may be the first one to decide "my space program is going to Duna," but then after people know it is possible they will be asking you to go do things there.
  2. Because most of us know as soon as real aerodynamics are implemented most of our designs won't work anymore. At least that's what I'm worried about.
  3. That's a Unity problem not a KSP issue and there are plenty of threads about it already.
  4. It's set on a 24 hour clock for our benefit, or maybe kerbals decided that 1 day isn't long enough to get anything done. Who says they have to sleep every night? Maybe they only sleep every 4 nights.
  5. Best grammatically perhaps but not for getting your point across. Saying there are over 8 places on the Mun sounds terrible.
  6. When I landed some similar (albeit smaller modules) on the Mun I attached a docking port to the top (of the craft in your picture) that I could attach a skycrane to. Then for balance on launch reasons I stuck the skycrane on top of the whole rocket (on the left of your picture). Like this: Then the skycrane attaches to the docking port on the right after the deorbit burn. The ASASs are just there to balance the rover.
  7. That is assuming the kerbals have the technology on-board that tiny 1 man capsule to perform any sort of reasonable research.
  8. You guys also forget that we are the directors of this space program. If you want to impose those hard limits on your space program that's fine, just don't impose them on ours. One of my first attempts at a Mun flyby I was terribly inclined and didn't want to try and fix it. I was however almost exactly at Minmus' inclination so I did a flyby just for fun and got a good amount of science out of it. According to your system I should get nothing for telling my kerbal to go check out that moon because I haven't looked at our other moon first? The entire purpose of this game is to run a space program the way we want. If that involves the restrictions you are proposing you are free to do so.
  9. No I mean I was near the equator and got an EVA report about one of the poles which doesn't make sense.
  10. Or Squad has been focusing on parts the modding community has been missing since they know that many of the mods people have developed are quite good. They have the mod API for a reason. Before the start of career mode with the tech-tree the only mod that seems to have similar research features is the interstellar pack which came out fairly recently I believe.
  11. Even less. This is the foundation of one part of Career mode, we don't even have biomes for areas other than Kerbin and the Mun yet. Just give it some time and put a little faith in Squad. Also agree with Sirrobert on lack of permission, it doesn't really make sense here nor would it work in any feasible fashion.
  12. Biomes I've seen on the Mun besides the large craters, which you can assume are each their own. Poles Canyons (east of Farside Crater) Polar Lowlands Midlands Highlands
  13. So you can't activate RCS either? OR you do activate RCS and it does nothing?
  14. It was just a base I made out of some Fustek modules and such in .21. It was more of a proof-of-concept idea for building bases that were joined together using the structural fuselages with docking ports on them. It wasn't near a kethane deposit, just my obligatory Mun base next to the Armstrong Memorial. Also I have no idea how to put pictures in.
  15. Because listening to someone describe what the Mystery Goo looks like, and looking at the Mystery Goo are two very different things.
  16. Minmus, or look for new and interesting biomes on the Mun, or if you think you're up for it, try a Duna mission.
  17. That would be because you only recovered your kerbal. You haven't recovered the ship yet.
  18. I believe it uses to activate the science part of the ship but they took that out during experimental testing. Dahud on Twitch was using a version where the science modules where in the staging along with the capsules.
  19. There was a separate landing and return vehicle. Those were the base modules I was using the skycrane with.
  20. The one problem with the new SAS I'm having is it sometimes goes into its mode where it is taking your input to get a new heading, while I'm docking. I'm in translation docking mode but instead of keeping the heading the SAS reads the RCS thrust and moves my heading around.
  21. Any of you guys run into the Mun's Poles biomes somewhere you shouldn't? I got science from an EVA report above one, while I was hopping out of one of the equatorial craters. I don't remember which crater but I'll do a flyby and get the name again.
  22. Yeah that's why I always try and use the SAS to flick it away first, right after the de-orbit burn so it has plenty of time to be far away from me.
  23. Maybe the service module alone didn't have enough fuel to burn out to the moon, circularize, then burn back to Earth? That's all I could think of. Also they got nothing on my Munar base building landing profile. Performed the de-orbit burn THEN moved the skycrane into position on the top of the module. Everything went perfectly well, even the time I forgot the RCS thrusters.
